Andrew Rosa celebrates Independence Day early with....well, Independence Day on Sega Saturn. A that's ripped to shreds on countless occasions, and why? Has the negativity been justified? What say we find out?

I love how you just threw all that shade in the last line 🤣
Hey, as my plastic surgeon always says, "If you've gotta' go....go with a smile!" 😈😆
Just found your channel, subscribed soon after, which I never do. Your videos are high quality, very informative and educated reviews of seldom discussed games. That you focus on the early 3d era rather than the two previous generations is also a very refreshing change ; the Ps1 and Saturn remain the best consoles of all time for me. Keep up the great work!
"however u can do so much worst " 5:15 lol rip saucer wars
Yeah, that's right - I went *there*. 😉😆
Any day I can watch a new Master-Cast TV video - its a good day!
Thankful for you my man!
LOL! Thanks, man. I appreciate it.
ID4 man I always wanted to play this but was stuck having my N64. Mid 90s were some great years to be a kid. Thanks for the continuing content my man.
I love me some Nintendo 64. @Kitsune Metal said it reminds 'em of Rogue Squadron, which is high praise. Personally, I think Rogue Squadron's a better game. Won't speak for KM there. Still, the 90's were a glorious time, weren't they?
My pleasure, chief. I'll try and maintain my pace.
If we count as a game based on a movie we got a very nice result in the end
Welcome back dude to Sega ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, thank you. However, I'm gonna' try and spread the coverage a bit better. Next up will be 3DO or Jaguar. Well, maybe. It depends.
nice video
That ending. 😂
You know, this looks shockingly playable.
You're right - it looks nothing like The Crow: City of Angels. LOL!
Great video! (as always) I didn't play this bitd but now I'm gonna jack the iso, hack in infinite health and have a blaze through. Thanks for this :)
Thanks, but you really don't *need* the codes. Just go for 'easy'. That way you'll still get some challenge out of it. However, the code that lets you use the alien fighter is tits!
please share that ISO when you do Saturn!
Oh no! Not Saucer Wars! I’ll take Blue Lightning any day...
Funny. I've replied to your message twice now, yet they keep vanishing. Most strange. That, or simply not showing up on my end. Oh well. Yes, I'd sooner try Blue Lightning over enduring the "masterpiece" that is Saucer Wars. 😜
This game is like the ultimate fuck you to Blue Lightning lol
You know, a part of me still wants to play Blue Lightning. That, Iron Soldier II, Primal Rage and - yes - Highlander have me wanting to try Jaguar CD. Still, I'd rather wait for the GD cartridge.
I never saw Independence Day, but I do remember seeing the game featured pretty heavily in demo videos displayed at my local Walmart as a kid. The game looks pretty solid, though. You've got knack for making me want to play games I would've otherwise not even considered due to my own laziness. It makes me want to go to my local game shops and grab a Saturn and order a satiator
A Satiator? PHYSICAL MEDIA FOR LIFE, BITCH! You get a fuckin' disc! LOL!
@@MasterCastTVLOL!! I'm too poor for that shit! Digital 4 Life!
amazing stuff
I don't know if it's "amazing", but thank you. I appreciate it.
Great video dude!
Thanks, man. In retrospect, I should've mentioned the control. That's been a fairly common complaint, though I really feel it depends on the plane you fly. Some are sluggish, others turn on a dime.
amazing content
When it comes to graphics they don't matter as long as the game is fun in my opinion and independance day reminds me of rouge squadron on the N64.
I can see that comparison, and I do love me some Rogue Squadron.
Checkmate omg omg I gotta call my mother I have to call my lawyer oh forget my lawyer
One of my favorite exchanges.
I've noticed there hasn't been any videos on this channel for over a month. I hope you don't mind me asking, but why hasn't there been any videos for so long?
No worries, bro. My day job's been throwing more hours my way, thanks to the pandemic. I work at a Costco here in Maryland. In addition, I look after my folks and shop for my wife that works from home. On top of that, I'm doing analog-to-digital transfer for one of my viewers/friends (10 tapes in now, G), and I decided to shoot a short horror movie on VHS. However, I have been putting in work on a love letter to Virtua Cop's 1 & 2 on Saturn, as well as a "double-feature" for Atari 2600 where I cover a couple of movie licensed games - along with a peripheral.
@@MasterCastTV 🚬🦉 I just got on here to ask the same thing. Take care and stay safe
Agreed. It's a fine game in it's own right. It just stands among so many better games, than folks often see it only by comparison.
It was one of the last I picked up, but I didn't regret like I thought I would. :)
Totally. There's better licensed games, absolutely, but there's way worse. On PlayStation, I remember Phantom Menace being a fuckin' train wreck. On Saturn, I think we all remember The Crow: City of Angels. Hell, that one graced both platforms back in the day. Ugh!
I get Independence Day confused with Born on the 4th of July all the time
Surprised they didn't turn that into a game. If Platoon can get a game, why not Born on the 4th of July?
As someone who actually played this back in the day, and having tried my fair share of stinkers on the Saturn, the reputation this game has gotten is pretty ridiculous. I'm sure you're right and it's some shitty e-celeb's fault for starting a bandwagon effect.
Played both the PC and PS1 versions all the way through. I actually really liked it! I was surprised that they did not do an updated/sequel version when the second movie came out, was expecting something next gen.
I was also hoping for another game on Independence Day! I too played the game a lot on a pc. I really enjoyed it. However, after watching the movie and learning about the game, before I could buy it, I fantasized about what it could be and imagined greater freedom of action, such as flying to the sides or above the mothership. Unfortunately, I was then disappointed when I saw the small field of action limited by the energy barrier. On the other hand, a multiplayer co-op mode would have been nice
I used to love this back in the Day, tried to play this again last Year and wow.. I hated it xD anyway, nice review!!
Hahaha! Thanks, man. Yeah, some games we simply outgrow. Certain things I can't go back. Recently, I tried playing Driver again, and I just couldn't get into it. For whatever reason, it doesn't grab me as it once did.
I do remember magazines at the time taking a rip on independence day.I just assume then it was another crash grab for an license game.So i never, bother checking it out and i wasn't a fan of the movie either.
Admittedly, you may not dig on the game if you don't like the movie.
Actually, what was the worst movie licensed game you ever played?
I'd never seen that game before, doesn't look that bad for its time. Of course, I missed a lot of stuff on the disc-based systems from that generation outside of the big PSX games. The two consoles I had from that generation were the Jaguar and the N64. I guess I had an aversion to CDs!
I appreciate both media, though I have a stronger pull to cartridges. Much of that has to do with reliability, durability, and expedience. Still, I have a lot of love for consoles of the era. It may be my favorite generation, because I love the fuck out of Jaguar and 3DO. In fact, I play Jaguar way more than PlayStation now.
Am I crazy for thinking the Jaguar is the best video game system of all time?
@@Some_Werewolf_Dude I wouldn't say you're crazy. To be fair, I don't think I can honestly call anyone crazy for their preference in console. It all comes down to the games in the end, right? I mean, sure, you have considerations for the console itself (overall look and design, controller, etc). Still, if it has the games you love, then why not? That shit ain't crazy....
BUT - if you said your favorite console was the R-Zone, I may have to bend there. 😆😂
Like shit to a blanket??? How many times has that happened for you to say that so freely??? Lol lol
It hasn't. I just like quoting Michael J. Fox from The Frighteners. 😂🤣😂
#MasterCastTV owning a Sega CD is heartbreak, my friend.
LOL! Why do you say that?
@@MasterCastTV fuses, batteries, laser pickup. I've had to replace all once and the pickup was bad twice. Waiting on #3 🤣🤣😿
Damn! Is it a Model 1 or Model 2?
@@MasterCastTV well I don't have an engineering degree, so I opted for the model 2
excelent review. not as good as mine tho. haha
Hey look a game thats worse than doom.
