- This parasitic wasp is well-known for its use in the biological control of mealybugs. Anagyrus parasitizes different stages of mealybugs. The wasp actively searches for its prey. Anagyrus stings the mealybug with its ovipositor to paralyze it. Then it injects an egg, which will develop inside the mealybug. The host pupa swells and hardens into a golden brown mummy. An adult Anagyrus will emerge through an irregular exit hole, at the posterior end of the mummy. After emergence the wasps mate immediately and search for suitable hosts.
Note: old latin name of Anagyrus vladimiri is Anagyrus pseudococci.

The beautiful and uplifting music is a staggering juxtaposition to the absolute horror show of the video. You guys should release the same vid with the same narration, but use some deep bass guitar chords and some metal inspired riffs instead.
Sweet product anyhow
Nice..thanks for the info
Amazing
Ok this video got me. I’m super sensitive ! I’m learning I’m learning ! Right now I am binge watching your pest Videos, so this could be video 11?15?
I definitely subscribered and care about what you’re teaching 😇… Thank you 🙏🏿 😁🙌🏾. I’m studying .. and yes I am curious ..✊🏾 I love these types of videos ! 🤓 Love them . And I am happy my plant health teacher posted your RUclips channel for us to have more resources to learn more !!! Got to get back to more videos …..
Now imagine you can modify genome of parasitoid wasp with the help of CRISPR-cas9, CELLO (from cidarlab) or other biotech.. it blows the mind with the endless possibilities of using insects from pest control to medical purposes and even as tactical bio-weapon. Life is amazing, as the time we live in!
Thanks

That s my dream bug, unfortunately we only have bad bugs in my country!
That wasp looks more like a fly than a wasp, because I don’t see a thin waist which is what a wasp is supposed to have to be a wasp.
I am going to assume we will need like thousands of these wasps which will turn to a million in a few years to bring mealy bugs under control
Biological control for nezara viridula ?
see? wasps are as useful as bees are
❤️💯
Ok
