Muchísimas gracias, Ana. I have tutored over 1,500 people in college and graduate school and received a full scholarship for doing so. I never expected to receive anything, I tutored because I love to teach, like you so eloquently wrote about yourself in the above description. Your lessons are amazing. You present the material in a fun and intuitive manner which makes comprehension and rent ion of the material almost effortless. I have explored hundreds of Spanish resources - from books to courses and videos. You have found and employed what all of the others could not - that magical and intuitive "glue" that make the language come alive and live on in your memory, thus each lesson provides a strong and intuitive foundation for whatever comes next. As others have already noted, you are a very special teacher - Funny, smart and professionally excellent. Your love of teaching Spanish shines through every lesson. Your viewers actually "learn" and not have to memorize some cold, stale book knowledge. You bring the Spanish language to life! I'm learning more from your lessons than all of the other resources combined.

Home with Jessica Lee wawwww she's amazing for you too
You teach so clearly
You are a natural teacher!
me gusta como explicas muy bueno.. gracias por compartir.
Anna, your gesture of pretending threat at the 4:54 second of that film is the best:)
Fun fact! The English verb "to like" used to function just like the spanish "gustar" a few hundred years ago, so when you said "I like her" means "she likes me" in today's English. In Shakespeare you can see the old use in cases like "The music likes me not" to mean "I don't like the music." Hopefully that helps people grasp the concept.
Yoda language
source please
At last, a really clear explanation. Thank you. Now I'll look for a lesson on por/para!
I love watching your videos, heck even just having them on in the background.
Hi Anna, I liked the lesson.
When I initially learnt the verb Gustar, instead of meaning 'to like', I understood it to mean: 'to please, be pleasing'.
Therefore instead of using a Subject Pronoun, (Yo), one would use an Indirect Object Pronoun (Me) meaning 'to me'.
e.g. Me gusta el libro = The book is pleasing to me (= I like the book)
Me gustan los libros = The books are pleasing to me (= I like the books)
The beginning of the video may confuse new students regarding the use of 'Me' instead of 'Yo'.
I will be learning from your many other informative videos. Many thanks.
Bien hecho....
Just learning this, but that seems correct to me, in English it's saying the same thing with a passive voice. I wonder if this isn't some sort of adaptation by Latin to aboriginal speakers in Spain who kept some earlier syntax while using Latin - soon to become Spanish words.
Same! That’s how I learned it in Spanish class.
To practice I recommend you this Manu Chao's song called "me gustas tú"
I've been listening to it many times lately
Hey anna, i watched this video years ago and now i forgot most of spanish that learned in the first place so i decide to go back to learn it again. Appreciate you still making new videos!
Thank you for the wonderful lesson. It is always important to learn new things. Only very limited minds block themselves within walls.
The new dora

Butterfly Spanish
Ana, are you laughing like jojojo en espanol?
Ana, you crack me up. So does the “the Spanish Dude”. How great is You Tube for learning? What a great resource! My teachers back in the 60’s sucked, I now know.
Omg yaaas
Nice video. "Me gusta" actually means "I like" or "It is pleasing to me" and the infinitive "gustar" means "to like"
I’d think “me gusta” as “it pleases me” and “me gustan” as “they please me”. What you like please(s) you. The object(s) liked become(s) the subject in Spanish and the liker(s) become the object. 😊✌️
Ana you are totally crazy!!! I have been struggling to learn spanish grammar but since watching your videos it has become a pleasure and I am learning so much better now!!!!! Graciaaaaaas!!!!!!!!
¡ Gran Maestra !
Good class.
Thank you very much for your dedication.
See you in the next class.
This is one of the things I was struggling with and you've made it so clear, MUCHAS GRACIAS ANA! But I have one thing - in the video you said 'snakes' was las víboras but I thought it was las serpientes
They both are synonyms and are interchangeable words, but the most usual word is Serpiente.
Both terms are common in México, using either one is a matter of a local preference. I think maybe the term "víbora" is just what people use more frequently wherever she is from in Mexico. I live in the state of Sonora, and although we use both, the term víbora is more common here (example: we would never call a rattlesnake "SERPIENTE de cascabel", over here would call it "VÍBORA de cascabel".
i hope you make more lesson gracias Anna
Hi
anna montaner unibiso
This was an excellent lesson -- extremely well done! Thank you so much.
I am new to spanish and found these videos after watching an assigned video for class. I am enjoying listening to her very much.
Puedo aprender español y curar mi depresión al mismo tiempo. 🥰
¡Gracias, Ana! Ahora estudio (algo,nada,alguien,nadie,alguno,ninguno).
¿Puedes hacer un video sobre eso?
Y una mas pregunta.
¿Me gustaría = I would like?
Konstantsin Mazanik Yes I would like. Would is the ía in Spanish :0
Yo aprendido muchas cosas de lo que se enseña. Tu eres un increible maestra, mucha energia, y felicidades con tu canal, muy buen trabajo!
These lessons really helps a lot. Well explained and a lot of examples, Thank you Ana.
Me encantan tus vídeos.
De igual forma no puedo decir "The dog disgust me". Claro que no, porque lo que da asco es el sujeto de la oración. Por lo tanto, "Dogs disgust me" o "The dog disgusts me". Lo mismo pasa con los verbos como gustar: "Me gusta el perro", "me gustan los perros". Allí les señalo que el objeto, "me", señala a la persona que está experimentando el cambio psicológico.
Sigue así me encantan tus vídeos :)
i get really confused learning the word and their opposites.
i love to watch and enjoy to learn how easy to teach. God bless you
She is so jovial.i like listening to her.good teacher.
Do you offer online classes?
