Such good points in this discussion! Adding onto the improvement train I wish procreate also had a login feature! That way you have a way of recovering artwork in case disaster strikes. (Love the outro as well such a cool sprite.)

If i correctly remember the statement made by the developers, the lack of cloud baclup/hosting for files is DELIBERATE CHOICE, because they think people wanted to be sure that no ill party had a way to access their files, so basically it's a privacy feature
@@_just_an_garlic_bread_ That reason is why I backup a lot of my Procreate stuff on Google Drive or on a hard drive. I used to use Medibang which had a login feature so I’m always paranoid with the crashes other people suffer with. 😭
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS MY SUFFERING AAA I love Procreate so much, it allows me to draw in bed without getting back and neck pain (I hate desks, I literally do not know how to not be in pain drawing at a desk), its so simple, I don't need to go through 500 menus to find something, it does what it's supposed to do.
But BY GOD THE LAYER LIMIT. I literally got one of the 1TB storage iPads this year because it frustrated me so bad (it has more RAM so the limit is higher). Though this doesn't seem to be a super common problem, a lot of the artists I know never even get close to the limit on older/lower storage models but if I do big splash art with a background or character design, I need like 2-3 canvases for that AAA I do not want to imagine the suffering people go through to make VTuber models in this program.
I did hear about them working on a desktop version which may not have the layer limit (my assumption, they didn't say anything about that yet) but we'll see how that goes. I hope it won't be locked to Macs and that you can still use the iPad as the drawing tablet.
ALSO: your sona is so cool! I love how colorful they are and your artstyle in general is really pretty AUGH!
I love you're video i don't use pro create myself I just use ibispaintx the points you made are fair and I love how you explained the pros and cons of using pro create I dont use it because the layout for me personally was confusing i think someone's on preferences there will be people who love pro create and people who don't love it you can't please everyone but still amazing video 💜

This is a really good video, I use procreate too and I can tell that you’re right with everything! There’s some cons but also tons of pros.
100% understand why I use it, its not overwhelming and lets you see all the space you can use, unlike other programs that show every tool you can use.
I draw on procreate.
And I’m still an amateur
But I like being able to try out all my brushes and see what I can make

i mainly use procreate on my ipad but i do use clip studio paint on my imac with a drawing tablet
Yea I used csp on my Laptop w a Huion display tablet before I eventually just stopped using it at all. Now I don’t even have a working laptop/PC lol, bc I’m trying to save and get a gaming one
7:27 i don't view that as a hold back, I do when I'm trying to animate I'll admit, thats why i bought toonsquid but I don't find it holding me back with regular rendered painting style drawings. I find I can do the background in 1 or 2 layers and all the characters in 1 layer. This is my opinion tho
Personally I could never lol. Like I mentioned, I think for some ppl this isn’t an issue, but for someone w a style + process like mine it def can be. Esp since the limit is smaller depending on the canvas size! And I prefer to draw at minimum on 2000 px by 2000 px w 350-400 dpi. That’s why I personally see it as a draw back, bc it’s smthn that affects me esp during certain projects, like I mentioned w vtuber art! Bc that’s reliant on every part being on a different layer (layer for too lash, bottom lash, scelera, pupil etc) and then double that for right and left. So that alone is at minimum 8-10 layers.

Hey dude, thank you for the lovely video, it really illustrate the pros & cons about procreate.
But, I want to point something that made me just a little bit uncomfortable🤏, don't get me wrong your video amazing but your character just have so MUCH color it hurt my eyes. I know that might come as harsh comment but I just wanted to help and you don't have to listen or to be bothered with the comment, maybe it's the painting that caused the problem? Idk. Again loved the video so keep up the good work! Hope to see you somewhere up there🙏
Well, sometimes we have opinions, and just because we think something might look better in another way doesn't make it the correct way.
@@Staggerrrr I totally agree, I just wanted to share my opinion so that maybe someone else felt the same way but couldn’t express way.
It’s not her character. The characters name is Giffany and she is a character from gravity falls where she is an evil/cutesy video game villain. She is meant to be overwhelming and have strong colors, usually. Color usually sets tone to her he drawing, and if the colors are strong then that is just a part of the aesthetic and mood of the drawing.
But ofc, you can have an opinion on that, but it seems like more of a subjective than an objective and informational “critique”.
Maybe ask why the colors are like that before commenting on it, and if it still bothers you then go ahead!

Like someone mentioned already, the character in the Speedpaint isn’t my own, it’s a character from a show and I used her original color palette. I personally don’t find the colors used especially vibrant and the color palette is minimal (it’s mainly just pink, yellow and blue), i think the colors in my own sona are more vibrant tbh. Tho I think maybe in general Timelapses can be a lot bc they’re sped up recordings.
I appreciate u sharing ur opinion, but personally, I don’t think there’s anything truly wrong or actually eye straining about the time lapse. All I can suggest is maybe having ur screen brightness lower?:0
