  • HK-47 dispenses advice and instructions on how to effectively fight and kill Jedi. These tips and tricks are not only limited to Jedi however, but can be effective against any force user., be it Jedi, Sith, or anything in between. However, certain aspects may prove more effective against force users that adhere more to one side of the force.
    Take note that this is basically a remake of tehPrincessJ video "KotOR 2 HK-47: How to Kill Jedi"
    Also I decided to slip in a little something in this video. It's not subtle.

    It only just occurred to me, but this conversation implies Revan subjected the Exile to Malachor V knowing full well what it would do to them. Revan clearly understood the Exile’s force bond, perhaps better than even the Exile, and still chose the Exile to be the one to use the Shadow Generator. Makes you wonder if Revan understood the wound they’d be creating in the force, or if it was just a random act of cruelty to inflict so much pain on one person.

    • @PapitoQinn
      @PapitoQinn  Год назад +23

      According to Kreia when confronting the Jedi Masters, Revan knew all about Force wounds and how to make them. Then he also used them. Primarily to convert Jedi. After what happened to the Exile, Malak wanted to kill her. But Revan wanted the Jedi Masters to see her. Possibly to demoralize them by presenting her as symbol of their failure, both for their actions during the war and their religion. It's comparable to when a highly religious person visits a heavily atheistic, yet prosperous country. The Jedi Masters can't conceive of a life without the Force, and yet there's the Exile. Pain? Perhaps. But perhaps it was worth it. It was only through that pain that The Exile was able to disconnect from the Force and see the world in a way that no one has. A world without the Force.

    Too bad you can’t put some of HK-47’s more fun techniques to practice in-game. Like maybe somehow killing queen Talia before fighting master Kavar and turning what’s left of her troops on him. Or putting Zez Kai-Ell in a situation to protect the slaves on Nar Shaddaa at the cost of his own life or letting them die and getting him to doubt himself by thinking he failed as a Jedi (after already having his and their doubts about their actions leading up to kotor 2). Or hell even making master Vrook suffer by casually killing minister Adare in front of him and getting him to fight the Exile in a not so Jedi-like manner. If Obsidian had more time, it would’ve been neat to see if they could’ve incorporated any of that into the game. Still though, kotor 2 is one of my favorite games of all time so having what we got is something I’ll always appreciate.

      Well, TCLRCM very vaguely added the gas attacks being effective. It's a minor thing but, in the HK factory, there are actually gas mines placed in the factory. They can't do damage to HK, and you can't bring human companions that CAN be poisoned into the factory, so it literally just exists as a bit of wordless storytelling that shows the factory was Jedi/Sentient-proofed.

    So the force is a metaphor for connection to others. The exile lost her connection to the force when everyone she had fought with died at Malachor V, Kreia was stripped of the force when she was betrayed by her students. Only in each other did they get their connection to the force back. Oddly beautiful.

    • @L1z43vr
      @L1z43vr Год назад +2

      I hate to be THAT guy, but… No it’s not.
      The Force is an energy field that surrounds us and binds us together, not a metaphor for connecting to others.
      Because if it were that case, how come Darth Vader’s still the most powerful Force User in the OT trilogy, when everything he’s fought for and all of his connections (the Jedi, Obi-Wan, Padmé, his kids he didn’t even know existed until 20 years later) are either dead or missing? If we went by the logic of the Foce being a metaphor for connections, then wouldn’t he just be a man in a big suit on Life Support since he lost everything?

    • @wesjanson6979
      @wesjanson6979 Год назад

      @@L1z43vr Well you could argue there are a number of reasons Vader still would have a connection to the Force in this concept, he would have the connection with the Emperor, he would have a connection to those that he lost because of the guilt he'd feel at being responsible for their deaths, and he would also embrace the pain and guilt he feels because of his self hatred and belief that he deserves to be punished. The Exile lost her connection to the Force more along the lines of it being a mental block, sort of like a repressed memory, because all she would feel in the absence of all those she was connected to is an empty void, a gaping wound... which is how she was described as being in the Force by those who met her before she had regained her connection. If you believe that idea, then it wouldn't apply to Vader as an example, because if he felt the pain and the void he would believe he deserves that, and he would embrace the pain believing it would make him stronger in the Dark Side.
      To be fair this is all just headcanon, but in this new era of Disney owned Star Wars it's kind of mandatory, otherwise you have to deal with a *lot* of garbage. Jar Jar is the key to all this.

      I once played the PlayStation 2 version of Star Wars Battlefront 2. I played it until it no longer worked and, in my experience, facing those who used lightsabers, I found that a direct attack was ill-advised. Blasters (even rapid-fire) rocket launchers aimed directly at them, and close combat were bad ideas which quickly resulted in death. I found that the best way to attack was indirectly. Aim a rocket, grenade, or mine at their feet or the area around them for example and they cannot deflect it back with their lightsaber. The concussive force and the blast will damage or kill them without them being able to stop it. They can only respond to attacks that directly target them and not things that cause them to be merely collateral damage as opposed to being the direct target.

    What HK 47 says about the Jedi needing a calm state of mind to harness their full potential is true, In the novel Riptide when Jaden Korr was fighting a clone of Kam Solusar named Alpha he was mentally unbalanced due to his fear and doubt of his own use of Darkside abilities like Force lighting and could not tap into the power needed to defeat Alpha more easily, also Jedi Master Roan Shryne in the novel Dark Lord Rise of Darth Vader was defeated by a inexperienced Darth Vader because of his unbalanced mental and emotional state hindering his tactical sensibilities and inhibiting his use of the force to his full potential. Another example though not directly related is Grandmaster Luke Skywalker in the Legacy of the Force and Fate of the Jedi series, where his biggest weakness was his reluctance to tap into his full power when dealing with threats, being too afraid of falling to the Darkside similar to Jaden Korr and therefore refrained from using much of his full power always holding back when he should have used his powers more proactively. Jaden Korr eventually overcomes this and surmises that using dark side powers won't turn him to the dark side and was able to use his full array of abilities uninhibited. Luke on the other hand never fully overcame this fear, unleashing his true power only when facing Abeloth and doing so reluctantly as I recall.

      @@turgius9331 Fear is the call to the darkside but experienced dark side users rarely feel it. Once you go deep into the dark side of the force fear is a distant memory. You no longer fear things like death, powerlessness or loss since being a powerful dark side user grants you the abilities to conquer or bypass such things. The teachings of the sith actually encourage you to turn your fear into hatred or pain since such emotions are more powerful (kill your loved ones, for example).
      Sith Lords are way past being afraid in spur of the moment situations, like survival based fear. That is what HK 47 is talking about.

    Jedi are just not mental built to handle war it seems the last thing HK brought up about how it affected the Exile has me wondering. She didn't really have to go to the edge of space like Mical said the Jedi can't enforce exile so it was her own choice to do so it's been said she did that to forget war. The loss of her troops and fellow Jedi had a huge affect on her just like HK said not to mention she gave the nod to use the Mass Shadow Generator. Ok I'm not sure where I'm going with this I'm kinda just rambling i guess i just wanted to see or hear more about what she did in exile and her thoughts on the war and all that that would have been cool. Basically to see how she had change since before the war i also wish we could have seen more backstory from her to defiantly alot of story in those two areas of her life we don't know much about.

      If she wanted to avoid her memories of war, she'd have stayed somewhere in the core. The rim world's were most effected by the war.
      I think it's more likely that a LS exile would have continued on the path of helping and protecting the innocent. She may not even have been fully aware of it. Her Jedi teachings still being a part of her and all.
      A DS exile on the other hand probably would have considered the outer rim a prime target to build some sort of power base. Exploit those who are already weakened by war.

      I think she definitely wanted to hear and accept the verdict of the Jedi Council. If she didn't, then why return at all? Nobody else did, she was the only one of Revan's jedi who came back to be judged. My theory is that after wiping out so many of her own troops, she didn't know what was right anymore and was just willing to submit to any kind of authority to gain back some sense of right and wrong.

    I always found this aspect of KOTOR funny.
    The franchise has sorta conditioned us into seeing jedi and force wielded as superior or more capable than normal humans and droids, But KOTOR kinda flips this concept on its head, And shows that for all the power the force can give someone, It gives them weaknesses that can be exploited ten fold. In the end, While Normal people are rather base. They can overcome the Jedi or sith through sheer will, Tactic, And determination

    • @vksasdgaming9472
      @vksasdgaming9472 7 месяцев назад

      As shoddy as that film is, Batman vs. Superman had great show of exploiting known weakness and strength of foe way above your own weight class: grenade launcher shoots a grenade at someone who can grab it from flight. As that grab happens it delivers known weakness to target making them vulnerable to other avenue of attack. Same can be applied against Force-users as well and they are way below Superman in how dangerous they are.

    • @sonicsucks20
      @sonicsucks20 6 месяцев назад

      Realistically this is bs to me. Jedi like Superman shouldn't be hindered or inhibited by the violent methods of normal people, in fact them being superhuman should transcend the petty human condition and be superior to them in every human aspect including, physical and supernatural prowess, intelligence, mental capabilities and decision making, and unstoppable determination.

      @@sonicsucks20their ability to use power does not make them powerful though. Jedi aren’t like Superman; where they have power innate to themselves, rather they have an innate propensity to draw upon the Force and feel a connection to an esoteric and otherworldly sort of power independent to them.
      While a Jedi tends to be more capable and perceptive than a normal human, it must be noted that they are also more sensitive to changes in the force, and they are in a sense reliant on the force. For example; When a normal guy turns evil in the Star Wars Universe, they just turn evil of their own choice. When a Jedi turns evil however, they decay physically and lose themselves in Darkside energy, because they’re super sensitive to the force, both light and dark; and their personalities change more dramatically, like they’re puppets
      Also notice how all of HKs tactics use the element of surprise. Most people are used to not being in control of their circumstances, but the second you make a Jedi question their ability to predict your actions, you’ve essentially kneecapped them, as they are not used to having their center thrown off.

    • @lordofcreativity9637
      @lordofcreativity9637 3 месяца назад

      @@noriyakigumble3011 Indeed, I often find that looking at the Jedi, their reliance on the force can be as much a hindrance as a help. For example, your statement regarding them being more vulnerable to being surprised and changes to my perspective comes back to the force in part. The Jedi say that the future is always in motion, yet it seems that when it comes to both battles and moments of contemplation, their first reaction is to rely on the force for guidance. In battle it increases their reflexes, and it gives them hints of what their opponents will do which is a valuable asset in a situation where even a second can determine life and death. Likewise, when contemplating a course of action, they try to use the force for guidance or to look into the future. I have heard some commenters claim that at times Jedi can at their worst moments seem incapable of thinking and I wonder if that is partly the case, if their reliance on the force for guidance sometimes makes them forget that they are living beings who can make judgements of their own. It is why at times when the dark side seems to hinder their powers or when in a situation where they are not calm or taken by surprise or in the case of the exile when they cannot access the force, they seem diminished. Their greatest power becomes their greatest weakness when they cannot utilize it. I should point out that while normal individuals do not possess the abilities of the Jedi, there are those who are capable of predicting or guessing the outcomes of certain actions or circumstances even without the force. Generals try to determine the outcomes that lead to victory, business leaders try to decide the outcomes which will increase their business and make more money etc.
      In addition, I would like to state that the commenter whom you replied to makes a conclusion that I am sad to say is more common than I would like. There are those who believe that individuals who are stronger than normal human beings effectively become incapable of being bothered, shaken, or troubled by issues that may affect normal human beings. That somehow the power whether it be physical, mental, emotional, or any mixture that makes them "Stronger" effectively renders them separate from human concerns or troubles. I have found in various works of fiction that not only do these human conditions that are labeled as petty remain, but they can in fact be more difficult for one reason or another due to whatever causes these characters to be labeled as superhuman. The fact that they are considered so powerful can at times be a detriment to others in reality or in fiction seeing this. Often being extremely powerful can also come with its own problems or issues which they need to navigate. Just my two cents.
