      That’s true. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to make a decent mic. Especially in this price point. However, I returned the Corsairs after two hours because they sounded like absolute trash and I couldn’t fix a couple technical issues. The new TB set is awesome.

    I've owned and used the Arctis Nova Pro, the Maxwell, and this, and for my money, this is the best all around headset on the market. My only complaint is that when you switch back to PC/PS5/XSS from a bluetooth signal, I sometimes get a l sometimes get a bunch of static in the sound and have to restart the headset. The swappable battery life being shorter than the Nova Pro Wireless is a non issue, as the second battery is always ready to go. If battery life is over 20 hours, why even bother with swappable batteries unless you're averaging over 20 hours a day with your headset on?
    For immersive sound with excellent positional audio, this is the way to go. My ears don't heat up like they did with the Stealth 700 Gen 2, and the clamp is nowhere near as bad. The ANC is very good. Not as good as Bose, but still quite good. Turtle Beach has steadily been patching the firmware to add and improve functionality, such as adding in the second output so that you can use game to chat mix on the PC, and making it so that settings are saved for the next time you use the headset. The app on the phone has worked very well, and I love all the functionality for both PC and console use (anything that is on the PC app is also on the phone app for consoles).
    If you're using your headset half the time for music, then you might want to choose the Maxwell, because they are AMAZING for music at the $300-$350 price point, but if you are primarily gaming, the Stealth Pro is quite respectable for casual music listening, and the positional audio is a step up. Like some reviewers, I found Maxwell to be underwhelming for positional audio. Maybe some pairs are better matched than others?
    For build quality, I have yet to find anything concerning on the Stealth Pro, using them for long hours many times a week, and they're very comfortable (Although the slight edge might go to the Nova Pro there. Corsair HS80 is also very comfortable, but the sound doesn't keep up.) You can't go wrong at the top with wireless gaming headphones right now (Nova Pro, Audeze Maxwell, Stealth Pro), but this has been my all-around favorite. It makes things like the Astro A30 ($230) look like a stupid purchase (yes, I own these too), because the extra money is SO worth it.

      @lowercasegoat Год назад

      I'm not having the concerns with build quality that I had with the 700 Gen 2, and these don't heat up like those did for me. Due to weight alone, the Stealth Pro is more comfortable than the Maxwell (although the Maxwell is very comfortable for the weight). If you are focused on music, Maxwell is the only choice. It's the bargain of the decade for music at $300. If you are looking for a sweet spot combination of immersive with excellent positional audio, the Stealth Pro is better. Also, the Audeze software is nowhere near as nice as the Turtle Beach software. I found footsteps hard to place at times on the Audeze (and I'm not the only one). I think they've been a little hit or miss with the driver matching, and I wonder if it has something to do with them trying to keep up with the number of orders.
      For me, the combination of immersion, positional audio, ANC, flip to mute mic (the Audeze one never stayed in place for me - it just flopped around), and software was enough for me to sell my Maxwell and get the Stealth Pro. For music, Stealth Pro is still respectable, but I also have other excellent headphones DACs and amps for music.

    For me, it's mic quality over everything else. The Corsair HS80 has been my daily driver for almost a year now and all my friends instantly noticed the difference when I switched to it. It's also just as comfortable as my old SteelSeries Arctis 7.
    PSA about SteelSeries Headsets: The earcup material has the potential to cause your skin to develop a **severe** allergic reaction to it. After using mine for a couple years, the skin on the outside of my ears started to itch like crazy one day, which would then turn raw to the point of leaking blood plasma from the scratch wounds. I switched to a newer model in hopes that I wouldn't have the same allergic reaction to the material but the same thing happened (I should also mention that many others have reported the same allergic reaction happening with SteelSeries headsets).
    My Corsair HS80 has been great since I switched to it. My only gripe with it is that the mic side tone is kind of on the low side, even at max volume. The battery life isn't terrific either, but it's decent enough.

      Stealth Pro sounds good and competes in this price range. I had the Maxwell and sold them to get these. Maxwell is amazing for music, but Stealth Pro is better for immersion and footsteps awareness. Throw in the ANC and the better software, and yes, it competes. I have Focal Clears and some decent DACs and amps to listen to music on, so I know what good wired headphones can do. Do these compete with those for music? Not at all. Do they compete with other wireless headsets in the range for gaming and functionality? Absolutely.
      Also, the quality and comfort is WAY better than their previous top of the line, the 700 Gen 2 Max.

I can listen to music and have background youtube play whithout affecting the work pc. The 7 and 7P also have a wheel to allow more or less ambient noise to come trough which is nice if you are waiting for a delivery. My only complain so far is that I find them to be slippery on the head as they tend to slip if you bend down to grab a pencil. My favourite wireless headset is the SteelSeries Nova 7 as it has super accurate bass and mids and after a little EQ great highs and the imaging is also great. However, I’ve recently become a desk gamer and gone back to using a wired headset and now using my old Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with the super amp. Already there’s a night and day difference between the Elite Pro 2 and Nova 7. Maybe overall sound quality with wireless headsets have got close to wired, but the imaging is day and night difference on wired. After using my Elite Pro 2 with the super amp, I went back to using my Nova 7 and for imaging I really didn’t like it
    After watching a few reviews now about the new Turtle Beach Stealth Pro when they’ve said the imaging is identical, I decided to try it and been using it for the last couple of days and let me start with this, it’s nothing like their wired Elite Pro 2
    Overall sound quality is a little better on the Stealth Pro, but for imaging hearing footsteps and overall directional audio the Elite Pro 2 is still much better. I mainly play FPS games, but do play a lot of other games, so sound quality isn’t my priority, imaging is what I care about, so wireless technology compared to wired still have some way to go with imaging
    I also found the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro to be very buggy when connected to their Audio Hub compared to the Elite Pro. I’ve had no issues with the Elite Pro connected to the audio hub, but the stealth pro is just so annoying
    If you mainly play FPS games and you’re a desk gamer, stick with wired to get great imaging and I love my Elite Pro 2 with the super amp
    I think Turtle Beach is being way to ambitious with their £330 price. It’s clear their quality control isn’t great before releasing a product as I’ve already read so many bad reviews about connection issues, bugs and more. It’s ok to develop and release a headset with all the bells and whistles and price it high, but make sure it’s all reliable

    At one point you said "just buy a good quality capsule" and I just want to clarify, that it's not even the mic itself, that leads to that low quality sound of most wireless headset mics.
    As some tests have shown (where identical Headsets models are available as wireless and wired versions with detachable and interchangeable mics), the bad sound on most wireless headset microphones are not related to the mic/capsule.
    It's the amount of wireless bandwidth that is available and how efficient (DSP, codec etc.) the manufacturer is using it.
    The Corsair headset models that do use their wireless "slipstream technology", seem to have more bandwidth (or more efficient codecs) than their models without slipstream (or other manufacturer models). After most of the bandwidth is needed to achieve decent playback sound, slipstream technology seems to have enough bandwidth left for the microphone to sound good as well (transmitting from less than 50Hz up to more than 14kHz). My old SteelSeries Arctis 7 was capping out at ~7kHz on the mic transmission, if I remember correctly (and on top of that, the mic signal seemed to get encoded/compressed a lot).
    The HS55 and HS65 wireless do not have slipstream, that's why their microphone sound quality does not even come close to the HS80 or Virtuoso models.
    But slipstream technology also has it's drawback...it is lacking range, compared to many wireless headsets with less bandwidth and low mic quality. Maybe they needed more radio channels and more channel switching to achieve the higher bandwidth and that's why the connection is more prone to signal loss.
    I own the HS80 and like it a lot (especially with aftermarket ear pads and some EQ). I usually use the HS80 mic, although I got a descent external mic setup at home. It's more convenient and still sounds pretty full and natural with the HS80.
    I simply use an USB extension cable to mount my Corsair USB dongle high up, over my monitor. This way, I get enough wireless range for my apartment (which I don't, if the Corsair dongle is just placed on my desk or in the front USB port of my computer).

    I once bought the Stealth 700’s and as much as I absolutely loved the sound quality and feel of the headphones, they kept disconnecting every so often and it was very inconvenient when I was playing WZ with friends. I went with my Astro A40’s and they’ve basically been perfect for like 3 years now, even if they’re not wireless. With that being said, I just ordered the SteelSeries Nova Pro which I got for $300 on a Black Friday sale from their own website. I don’t have them yet but I got them for only 1 reason… I want a premium headset that works with my PC, my Xbox Series X and my PS5 and if you go with the Xbox version, it actually works with all of them. I can’t wait till they come in!

    just got the stealth and man, I love it! not used my novo pro wired since or epos h6 pro, the software must also have been updated as no real bugs for me, battery life is fine, if you game 12 hours+ a day most days then perhaps consider a life lol :) my friends have said the Stealth pro Mic is much much better than the Nova pro but not as good as the Epos H6 pro. but I would rather have no mic and first class sound than the other way around. so, anyone want to buy a Nova pro wired head off me lol ? UK based. also f you tweak the Eq by following a well know RUclips audiophile, you can get the sound curve very close to the Harman curve, again much much better than the nova!

    Holy crap, I was not prepared for the quality jump that the Corsair headset has. At first listen, it seriously sounds almost as good as some condensor microphones I've used. And that Corsair headset is way cheaper than the other garbage!
    Still going to stick to my headphones+condensor mic combo, though. Never going to put all that money into a single headset that can break when I can use the same mic and headphones for 15+ years without replacing either of them.

    • @lowercasegoat
      @lowercasegoat Год назад +1

      HS80 has the most awesome wireless mic, and I agree that the build quality feels very premium. I've been using a Fiio FT3 with a Beyerdynamic Fox microphone and quite enjoy that combo. My AC is so stinking loud though, so I've been using the Stealth Pro for the summer months and it has been outstanding so far. The only place where wireless headphones compete with wired is the Audeze Maxwell for music. The only things I have for music that I enjoyed more than the Maxwell are the Fiio FT3 (a bargain at $300) and the Focal Clear (stupid expensive, even if it's cheap compared to some ultra high end stuff).

    Its not just the capsule used in the mic... its how the companies are transmitting the audio.. Corsair uses a 2 channel mic that transmits on its own 2.4ghz band where as pretty much everyone else is using a low bit depth, 1 channel, Low energy bluetooth band that compresses the fuck out of the mic audio. Audeze admitted as much to me via support for the Penrose shortly after that launched and changed it with the Maxwell and you hear a night an day difference between penrose and maxwell mics.
