Thats a real find, the dial is awesome, wish they'd have done a circular date window at the 6 instead of where they put it. But other than that I really like it.
Ordered one today for $317. Any straight end bracelet should work with it. May see how a mesh looks with it tomorrow when it arrives. Will be my first tuna and third Save The Ocean model. Good review.
I think the quality and alignment is better with the bby tuna compared to seiko5. I have a baby tuna antartic luv that bby blue dial with penguin foot prints. I have to check this version in person. Great rv.
Thanks for the video. I’m right now deliberating which STO baby tuna to get. It’ll be between this one and the “happy feet” from last year…. Not sure if you have seen the happy feet version in person. If you have, which one do you think has the better colour combo between the dial and bezel?
I saw that one with the penguin feet. The dial is nice on that one but I didn't think I would like the color strap that one came on. These are the newer style straps so hard to find a replacement one at this point. I like this colorway much better.
@@watchify1775 are the bezel colours slightly different as well? From the pictures and videos I saw online, the SRPF77’s bezel looks a shade darker than the SRPG59. Would you say so? And the bezel insert on yours, would you say it shares the same colour shade with the actual bezel steel?
@@joeyeh6707 I think the bezel insert used is the same on those two watches. The insert is a shade of gray. I think that was a design choice Seiko made.
It seems people are using the words "baby" and "mini" interchangeably when it comes to the smaller Tuna and Turtle nicknames. Traditional Tuna case size is almost 48mm I believe. sRPh77 is this watch. K used to mean assembled outside of Japan with the number after having to do with bracelet or strap. @@VivekSingh-hy1dk I don't think you would find this watch at your local department store. You could check Seiko's website for dealers near you. I don't think you have to worry about fakes with this model of watch. Fakes are usually seen with the more popular models and usually come out of Philippines, Middle East, Eastern Europe. Just do a bit of googling if you suspect an online retailer might not be legit.
Tough choice between this and the monster version.. I had both of them(penguin feets version). The monster though more manly, have a hollow turning bezel. The baby tuna one feels more solid to turn.. I am hence more incline towards this tuna version.
Yeah - I own most of the well known Seiko lines but don't have any Monsters in the collection. So far the design doesn't appeal to me like the baby tuna does. The SRPD27 is a good looking watch as monsters go however
@@gmotionedc5412 This mini tuna isn't that big, especially if shroud where to be removed. 20mm is just right for it. If regular Tuna...then yes 22mm would have been appropriate
@Watchify yeah, my seiko 5 harlex chipped after a couple weeks, its dosn't seem that much more resilliant to casual wear than generic mineral, my prospex solar diver getting worn pretty much 24/7 and the sapphire looks like new like it should. The penny counting of seiko is getting pretty frustrating at times.

Nice watch, but impossible to put a nato on. 17.5 mm lugsize 😩. Stupid, why not 20 or 22. Now you can only buy a replacement strap from Seiko and no where else.
I had Seiko. some of them Tuna's worth close to 2k $ I will tell you a secret. Buy a Steinhart Diver at the same price to find out its a better watch in every possible way. Especially the bracelet. I am not even kidding. Sold all my watches but one Hamilton Khaki Auto and some G shock beaters. Seiko are WAY overpriced ! Some models went up 40% in the past 2 years. I had misalign chapter rings and crappy bracelet on a thousand dollar Seiko watch. Are you kidding me ??? I know you will tell me "okay but the Marine Master series and up !!" Yeah 3000$ to 5000$ for a dive watch that can't keep time. Just buy a Sin or anything else with real value at this price point. That said, have a nice day.
You make some valid points. I think Seiko has been trying to increase their price over time in order to develop a perception of being a higher quality watch brand worth the extra cost. They already had the brand history and name recognition but I think they are moving away from the sub 200$ price bracket. At least that is no longer their emphasis. I do agree that a 1000$ Seiko should not have quality control issues but they still do and that will be a big problem for Seiko's long term plans. I've heard good things about Steinhart and checked them out online but they come off as too homagey for me. I was recently looking for a preowned Sinn 556i at a reasonable price but that watch holds too much of it's resale value (deservedly)
Mmm… I had a Steinhart Ocean One (?) 39mm for Gnomon (Tudor’s homage) and I had it fort 10 days. I’ve a Monster and its bracelet is good (final retail price in 2020: €400,00); Imve this baby Tuna STO and I love it (final retail price in 2022: €500,00, so higher than Monster, for same movement and crystal, without the bracelet for a minor quality price ratio; however I think that a correct price for baby Tuna). Especially, I’ve a black MM300 (the old version, without lume at three o’clock) amd it is the best diver’s watch for €3,2 (final retail price can be about €2,4 with a fine research); I’ve the BB58 and this watch is only fashion… the quality of Seiko (monoblock case, mirror polishing, bracelet’s clasp, bezel and bezel insert) is superior. In office, with a shirt, better BB58 (or NOMOS Club); on other activity “MM300 is the way”. I’m sorry for my English.
Was on the fence between this and the monster but went with this due to that 20MM lug width making it a strap monster.
Saving up for this watch. Will go back to this video once I own this watch. 🙏
Gorgeous model with my favorite color dial. The movement can be regulated to be as accurate as a high end Swiss one so no worries there
Just ordered one…. What do you mean by “regulated”??
@@ralfyboii
That a watchmaker adjusts the movement to get maximum accuracy. The movements come unregulated from the factory
I actually just picked up the new monster version of this watch yesterday . The dial is stunning and amazing 🤩
Cool - interesting that the one you got is 25$ less retail price than its tuna counterpart even though yours comes with a bracelet.
@@watchify1775 mine was $525 but got $25 off the retail price.
Very manly watch. I like this this thickness and steel case with steel bezel.

I chose the Srpg59 over this one. Very groovy watch though I do love it! Cheers!

Yeah, I like that about this watch. No need to pay more for fitted end links. Looks great on engineer style bracelet I think
Where did you find it for $317?
Found a vendor on Amazon with two or three in stock Deals never last long. Lowest price now is $340 I think.
Thanks for sharing the watch in such detail.

Its been a while and the price has soften in Singapore. I bought one today after a year of staring...
