A fine example of a coming together of like-minded musicians, characters and life experiences - what Country, Folk and Roots is all about! Thanks guys.
That was pure magic. I've loved Vince since he was playing in Pure Prairie League. He is one of the finest singers and musicians who ever lived. And Steve Martin can likewise hold claim to iconic status in acting and comedy. The fact that Martin is a damn good banjo player, too, is such a cool thing.
Thank you for introducing me to this unbelievable sound. Steve, the world is such a wonderful place with you in it. Always been a fan of yours, but deeply moved by your and Allison's music. It is my go-to sound to calm my old brain. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
A Dream Team with Alison Brown, Steve Martin, and Vince Gill! This amazing video makes you feel like you're sitting in their living room while watching these musicians tell a story.
Steve Martin, you're an amazing man. From comedy to acting. Love the banjo. Grew up country in the city routes. Thank you all for creating such a lovely song ❤🎉
It is amazing that Steve managed to take what was initially just a way to fill time for an act (playing banjo) into a second career (or knowing Steve, really a fourth career.) Earl Scruggs and Johnny Carson would be proud of him. The former for keeing the tradition of the banjo alive, the latter for Steve remembering Johnny's lesson from decades earlier, "You'll use everything you have."
Damn. I'll be picking up this album as soon as it's available. If this is a teaser for the other songs on it, it'll be a killer. The quality of the various instruments being played is beautifully transparent... and that includes the vocals.
What a pleasant surprise! Steve. A great group of pickers, indeed. Learning something new is always a treat! Thanks to all of you, y'all! Patty Ellen Moore. 🍀 🍀 🍀
This song is nothing less than a gem - forever. What an ingenios musical arrangement and what kind of feeling this bunch of great musicians contribute to it. I`ll grant them a #1 position in the charts. Would be more than deserved.
Vince, Steve and Alison were terrific as were the rest of the musicians and vocalist. Especially loved the quiet percussionist who provided a base to the song and the fiddler who was very fine.
Great video but who's signing harmony? I figure it must be lipsynched. And that is SUCH a bummer. I've played in the round many times, and this could have been better, more authentic. The song is quite beautiful and big kudos to Mr. Martin and Alisyn Brown. You've chosen well to invite Vince Gill to sing it. The jamming was surely magical.
Absolutely incredible. I pity the poor soul’s who don’t happen upon and click on this musical offering. What a gift.
Steve Martin is so serious about his music here that you almost forget that he's also one of the funniest stand-up comics who ever lived.
A fine example of a coming together of like-minded musicians, characters and life experiences - what Country, Folk and Roots is all about! Thanks guys.
This is a beautiful composition , and very talented musicians and singer this is pure perfection . You all should be very proud.
Pure perfection-perfect .........

He was a banjo player first. He used to do a comedy skit with his banjo and the rest is history...
Also, Steve Martin wrote this song.

What a group of musicians! This album will be number 1 in no time.
Alison's smile = the joy of taking part in perfection.
A Dream Team with Alison Brown, Steve Martin, and Vince Gill! This amazing video makes you feel like you're sitting in their living room while watching these musicians tell a story.
Amazing......How I love this...
Having Stuart Duncan around ain’t too shabby either.

Damn! @Steve Martin has composed another good’un.

Beautiful, all of it! Vince's voice is still so clear and the mix is incredible. This one is on repeat!

Great song by a room full of talent.
Just terrific. Great writing and and impeccable performance all around.
That was great, a great blending of two banjo styles. I hope it goes to the top of the charts so more can hear this beautiful banjo song.
Totally awesome!
Absolutely love this! The chord voicing and instrumental arrangements illicits deep emotion.
Just wonderful! Reminds me of the jam sessions the Irish singers and players have. 💕🎼💕
Thank you for the smile…. Beautifully done.
Perfection!

Fantastic song, arrangement and performance. On top of that, beautiful cinematography.
Thanks is a beautiful song. I saw the Kelly Clarkson interview on YT and had to check out the song. Love the scene of a relaxed jam session.
Violinist deserves credit.
That's the great Stuart Duncan
So Soothing 🎼
What a wonderful song and performance! Thanks for sharing!

Steve Martin’s music is so calming. My favorite part of the song is the solo
Sweet
Much appreciated. Thank you.
great song
Lyrics by Steve Martin - Awesome!
Hand me down that wall guitar
Pull your chairs around
Got a few new songs to play
Before the night shuts down
If you feel it play along
Minor chords apply
I sing the sad songs real good now
Since she said goodbye
Hang with me til closing time
Let me tell you why
Hollow sun and hopeless moon
Since she said goodbye
Twirling dresses
Sly caresses
On the dance floor passing by
They don’t know that we are over
Since you said goodbye
Darkness falling
Melancholy
In between the quiet sighs
If I heal that means it’s over
I can’t say goodbye
Hand me down that wall guitar
Pull your chairs around
I sing the sad ones real good now
Since you said goodbye
Since you said goodbye
If Alison is there, it's good
😍😍😍😍
❤
Thank you all !!!
Is this song available on a CD album?
❤😂
Beautiful! Who is singing harmony?
Sounds like a Vince Gill over dub to me. 😊
Andrea Zonn is singing harmony vocals.
I had the same question, they never focused on em if they were in the room with them...
If I could play an instrument I’d choose either the banjo or the harp.
Great composition. Needs more cowbell.😊❤
Rob Burger is my cousin
Great video but who's signing harmony? I figure it must be lipsynched. And that is SUCH a bummer.

The song is quite beautiful and big kudos to Mr. Martin and Alisyn Brown. You've chosen well to invite Vince Gill to sing it.
The jamming was surely magical.
Wish the vocal was a bit louder.
I prefer your music Steve better than your comedy. 100% better.
Irre Music ich liebe Banjo !
I was expecting more. OK, song but fell short to my ear.
