I think that pale garden looks a bit like an end biome would look so maybe they are testing some things out +no one talks abaut the fact that the 3 warm biomes still did not get their biome vote update

Oh, they do. You may not know it now but later on you will learn that the enderlings and the orb have made the many things in the overworld into what they are in vanilla Minecraft from how they used to be in DUNGEONS and LEGENDS.
I think Mojang should change how they number updates to avoid confusion. Take the three number format: 1.21.2 (X.Y.Z) They could change the X for big updates, Y for drops, and Z for small bugfix updates.
An "End Update" has always confused me.... 1.9 (Combat Update) was literally an End Update.... we got End Cities, Elytras, Shulkers, etc. There's sooooo many other biomes/aspects of Minecraft in dyer need of an update BEFORE we even consider REVISITING The End.

With hard mobs to fight comes good loot, or something more, imagine they reworked the end entrance dungeon and spawned it below the pale garden as they did with lush biome under azalea tree, and the deep dark under mountains, then the next update would be the end overhaul making it a complete end update both overworld and dimension
Using eyes of ender to locate the dungeon is cool but unnecessary, especially with all the people that use chunk base anyways, doing this would make the dungeon slightly more risky to get to and easier to locate for casual/new/younger players
The hard mob = good loot thing has already been disproven by the warden since it only drops a skulk catalyst but this also proves that the warden is just a defensive system for the skulk
Hard mob could protect good loot as the warden protects chests with notches enchanted diamond armor trims etc, the dragon doesnt drop the elytra but protects the area of getting one, there may be work arounds to it in that case but the concept is the same. Why add a hard to beat mob if theres no reason to ever enter its domain except a single time to grab a sapling and bounce, in which case you could probably grab one on the edge of the biome and never even encounter the mob? Theres gotta be something more to the area we dont know yet, some kind of good loot/structure

(I for one want to see the deep dark dimension on the other side of the ancient city portal). Third, they never said they weren't going to be only releasing the small updates, just more of them. A big update is still likely to happen, with the dual minecraft lives, you get the fall update with all of the stuff in the pipeline for the current mainline game, the spring one you get the next mainline version update details. Now circling back to the end and other update issues, what would be great is if Mojang took the most popular mods (including better nether, better end, biome o plenty, create, iron chests, aether, etc) and incorporate them formally into the Vanilla game. This is especially important if there are going to be more frequent updates throughout the year. Give the creators credit in the credits and just add the mods code into vanilla, it would allow the modders to free up their time to be creative with new ideas and mods instead of rehashing code each update to keep the mod compatible with the latest version of the game, as well as bring these features to non-Java versions. This idea is similar to an open sourced MMO called Myst Online Uru Live.. the developer open sourced the game code (java edition, forge/fabric) and the fans started creating additional worlds to explore, fixed buggy issues within the existing game, etc(mods).. after verifying on secondary servers (mod loaders), Cyan incorporates the new features roughly quarterly into the mainline server (vanilla). The only differences are that minecraft isn't completely open sourced and free, and Mojang is still providing updates of their own while cyan is running the server off paypal fan donations (more then 10 years now) and has moved on from doing their own updates at this time, being a small indie company).
