From my experience, the Brakes on the 890 Duke R are brutaly good. Much better than the ones on the 990 Duke. Should be, I mean the 890 Duke R has top of the line Brembo Stylema callipers and the rotors have 20mm more in diameter. Surely the 990 Duke R will be introduced in 2025. And i bet they will have the Brembo Stylema brakes on it. The Suspension of the 890 Duke R is more track focused. Everything feels a bit sharper but also harder. So for everyday commuting, i think the 990 Duke has the better suspension. For Track riding, i would prefer the suspension of the 890 Duke R. But let's be honest, without looking at the price tag, you should compare the 990 Duke with the 890 Duke, not the R-Version. In this case, i would definitely prefer the 990 Duke over the 890 Duke. Mainly because it feels better engine wise and also handling wise. Hope i helped you a bit with these informations.I work as a mechanic at a KTM dealer. hi Schaaf, can you do a video where you share in details the consumption of the mt 10, for example mixing city ride, highway and Mountain pass and see how many kilometers you can do with all kind of speed ;)
Due to stricter emission standards manufacturers (mostly) have to increase engine capacity to be able to extract similar power. Middleweight bikes currently are from 700 to 950 cc. This KTM competes with Kawasaki's z900 and Yamaha's MT 09.
I like the brutale 1000 style of build display. But lets be honest for a sec, i was just getting used to 890/790 faces and bam here comme the uggliest thing earth have seen. No matter how fun, sorry can’t get over it. It could be nice tho if cf moto would get the 890r engine now, kinda like its design, or the newest huskvarna 801 (well then 901). Also bit sad that it is now an old SDR sized engine, but nowhere close in cool factor as it is still a parallel twin and not a v twin. Missed shot here could have been a nice memory.
I'm afraid it could not since there's strict emission laws these days. They only manage to go through these with increased engine sizes as far as I know
Supposedly 990 tank is made from aluminum but I get you personally could not spend money on a new bike if it's not feeling well made and screwed together
At that pricepoint its ridiculous that they are puting on their china brakes... They are straight out garbage compared to the Brembo calipers and master cylinder on the 1290 or the 890R. You can put those on a 390 but not on bike that is meant to be ridden hard and gets advertised for its performance on twisty roads. You are a very experienced rider but I think there are a lot of people that are not able distinguish a fading break straight away and maybe overusing it even more. And that can end up very bad.
the only good thing about the Duke 990 are the pops and bangs, but over all a extremely overpriced china bike. 0 Reasons to buy that thing if you still can get a 890R or even a 2023 SDR for cheap. with the tech pack its 18k€ fuck that honestly, I rather save up 1-2k more and buy a real good bike like a tuono V4 or Ducati which has Brembo brakes and fully adj. suspension. I would even get a zx10r and I personally hate this bike.

That's why I have unlimited access to our demo models. 😁
What is your favorite naked?
CB500 PC26
is there a 35kw version ?
Google knows
Duke R version when?
Oct 31
clockwork orange!!! full power!!!!
Thanks Sergio
In SoCal this bike’s OTD is +3,000 than 890R… why? 😂
Nobody knows
Can you compare it to Ducati monster 937?
not from memory unfortunately
@@Schaaf OK !!! Nice video btw
take it easy man.. a little too hot in most of the turns. especially at 10:35, that would be the end of it.
in which turns exactly was I too hot? Not once did I leave my safe riding line. I'd genuinely like to know but I'm afraid I won't get a meaningful answer
@@Schaaf it's not just you. You were in your lane. I cannot argue with this. But you never know what awaits you after a blind turn. That's why i pointed out the time stamp. You were riding slow and you had time to react. I am watching your vids for years.
hi Schaaf, can you do a video where you share in details the consumption of the mt 10, for example mixing city ride, highway and Mountain pass and see how many kilometers you can do with all kind of speed ;)
Sorry, I can't. I'd fall asleep making such a boring and irrelevant video
Super machine 👍 ❤ 👍 Merci
Thanks
Hi, max rpm?
Wierdermal echt gute Optik, aber der Winkel irritiert. Wenn man selbst Motorrad fährt, schaut man permanent nur ins obere 8el des Videos 😛
den anderen scheint es so zu gefallen ;)
People who say this is a middleweigh have no braincells. This is a 1000cc bike so it competes with mt 10 and tuono v4s
Due to stricter emission standards manufacturers (mostly) have to increase engine capacity to be able to extract similar power.
Middleweight bikes currently are from 700 to 950 cc. This KTM competes with Kawasaki's z900 and Yamaha's MT 09.
exactly, thanks @vvevvevvvv
I’ll buy this bike maybe after 2 years 2nd hand, i’m pretty sure you can get them for 11k euro then 😂
This or the MT10?
lol
They only manage to go through these with increased engine sizes as far as I know
Bro te falta la 1390 yo anelo mucho ese video
I did
Yes KTM's best bikes.
thanks
What’s the exhaust on 990?
Stock
@@gianlucasalan that sounded sweet. Did you make changes decat? Do you recommend duke r 890 or new 990 ?
@@Ramgaruda I don’t own the bike, in the caption you can find the infos.
I like to systematic ride...
OK
Sound -1 :)
Thanks
Thing I can’t get over the the KTM’s, is just that everything is plastic… I know they are light weight but it’s a sea of cheap feeling plastics.
Supposedly 990 tank is made from aluminum but I get you personally could not spend money on a new bike if it's not feeling well made and screwed together
Great vid, thanks !
Gotta say though, its sounds quite bad ^^
thanks
😀👍
thanks
No where is thé 1390 ? 😢
Available for my channel members
for that price I take a streetfighter v2 thanks
;)
So not perfect...but does sound good
thanks
€ 18k, its just to much..
agreed
At that pricepoint its ridiculous that they are puting on their china brakes... They are straight out garbage compared to the Brembo calipers and master cylinder on the 1290 or the 890R. You can put those on a 390 but not on bike that is meant to be ridden hard and gets advertised for its performance on twisty roads.
You are a very experienced rider but I think there are a lot of people that are not able distinguish a fading break straight away and maybe overusing it even more. And that can end up very bad.
could be indeed, thanks
I heard the were from J Juan which is spanish but they do equipe some chineses bikes
F that SUV at 10:36
;)
Hah😂haha. Thanks. Grotesk bike, scooter sound.
thanks
the only good thing about the Duke 990 are the pops and bangs, but over all a extremely overpriced china bike.
The new Duke 990 will sit above the KTM Duke 890 and will be manufactured at KTM's plant in Mattighofen, Austria. The 790 and lower are produced in China, 390 is India.
@@Druezy pretty much every news page said the opposite, 390,790 = made in india and 990 will be in China, since they work with CF moto now.
But I'm not sure about the new 1390, could be still made in austria, but I highly doubt that since Pierer keeps laying off people like there is no tomorrow.
also did you even compare the 990 and 890R? the 890R is better in every single way
@@Floxiiik I'm only stating facts, the 990 is not made in china. I took that directly from KTM. I just don't want misinformation.
@@Druezy dont trust anything what ktm said. Not even if they would say 2+2 = 4.
I believe the news pages more than ktm itself. Pierer is a big asshole.
@@Floxiiik Stop spreading misinformation doofus, the 790 is made by CFmoto in china, everything below that is made in India and everything above the 790 is made in Austria, including the 690, and the 990.
Danke für das Video, Schaaf. Übelst hässliches Teil, aber fährt sich bestimmt geil.
genau so! ;)
That headlight is hideous
:)
Cool review, until you get off and look at it from the front. Went from 100 to 0 real quick 🤢. I know it's meant to be controversial yada yada, still a dumb approach by KTM imo. More controversial isn't more better.
hehehe
