Wow thank you so much for the amazing feedback. That's super kind of you. Sorry for the late response here, but I'd love to hear how it went for you if you gave it a shot.
Thanks for the hour long video and showing all the in-between stuff, really appreciated. 😊 I'm mostly an fps player but have been doing ship bounties to grind faction rep quicker.... Your video convinced me to go Retaliator instead of the other s9 torpedo ship.
Thanks for checking out the video! I'm glad you appreciated the little in-betweens, sometimes it can make all the difference if you change how do you do certain things. And yeah the Eclipse is super super sexy, but the Retaliator is just better for this IMO. Especially since the eclipse gets wrecked by a single missile and the retaliator is almost invincible lol
Thanks so much! And yeah I finally set up my OBS to record in 1440p instead of it's usual 1080p :D Thanks for checking out my videos too, I really appreciate it!
I used to run the Tally for ert's, but the re-stock price on those torps, ouch! I now use the Ares inferno, ammo is so cheap and that gun shred's most ship's in second's. Very informative vid bud, nice work.
Thank you so much! Sorry for the late response, but I appreciate the kind feedback. And yeah the restock price definitely does hurt, but thats why I was hoping to show this video with the full hour of bounty hunting indicating that even despite the restock price your overall profit is still pretty great for basically no risk and effort lol.
Welcome to the Tali side! It's a fantastic ship. The Eclipse is great too, but it's really annoying when you get hit by a random missile and you've basically lost your ship. The Tali never has to fear lol
@@WingZeroType This thing IS a tank. First bounty, I got a hit but it didn't kill. Then I was too close and got hosed real bad. Talli held together enough for me to repair, return and complete the mission. No other ship could've done that IMHO. The key, I found, is to always keep distance or the torps are useless.
Thanks for your advice on switching to typhoon ix, it literally hit anything if it's locked except sometimes I had to fly closer to hurricane and warden to shoot the torpedo and it don't have enough distance to track it😂. Previously i was using seekers on my retaliator and they always miss even i launch them at 3km and do high speed fly-by. It's unbelievable how different these torpedo peform😅
Thank you for that amazing feedback! It's great to hear that it worked out for you. I was in the same boat, using seekers before, and even had tried the default Argos. Typhoons are a world of difference!
Lol, my daily bounty hunter practise to a tee.. though I tend to choose ERTs now more than gERTs. With my tally I do five ERTs then switch to group ERT, pop the HH with my last typhoon, then switch to my Corsair to pop the other two markers. And I’m mostly on the Asian server, so all the abandoned Ambush paint Eclipse and Invictus Blue Retaliators you see floating around PO are probably mine.
hahaha nice. For me, I don't want to use my last torp to just pop the Hammerhead in the group b/c sometimes you'll have to quantum to 3 different places to find it lol
Amazing movie! Congrats! I do use retaliators (bought in game) for some time, but I must say I learned so much with you today :-) Not only about the IR torpedos, but your conversations gave me plenty of good tips, so many details. Keep on the great work 👍 (boni58 in game)
Thank you so much! I'm really glad it was helpful and the 60 mins of rambling wasn't boring lol. Between your strategy and the entire way you play we are very much the same. Ive been running this way now but have been dodging debris on Hurston. Ill be switching over to Crusader now. Awesome video. Subscribing!
That's great to hear! And yeah the Hurston debris is such a pain! I hope you enjoy your time in Crusader. It's just gotten a bit easier in 3.20 with seraphim station having a respawn as well. I haven't had a chance to test torps in 3.20 yet though, but I'll try to grind some over the next few days :)
Not sure how I haven't found your channel until now, been a citizen since 2014. Such incredibly useful information and so much of it. You have a way of explaining things that is easy to understand and comprehend completely. Well done sir! o7 CMDR_Phreedom
@@finn7530 I haven't tried to pvp so I don't know, but the Argos travel really slowly so I would avoid them. I've heard other people using seekers for pvp but again, I have never tried it myself
Thanks for another great video demonsrating what good looks like! I did a little science experiment and it seems that the Group bounties have a cool down which is 5 minutes from the completion of the previous group bounty of the same risk. So if I am in the Eclipse, that is the time I use for resupply. If I am in the Corsair, I'll switch between Group ERT and Group VHRT until I need to repair my ship. However, the Infinite Size 2 Shield bug increased the kill time. I want to try the Retaliator once I can afford it.
Thank you for the kind words! And yeah I suspect the time between group missions is 5 mins, but occasionally i've definitely had a new group appear before 5 mins, so i didn't want to be specific on the video lol. For the corsair, i've been flying it a bunch recently and I've also started having decent success with Fixed lasers and gimballed repeaters. I've also added in distortion on the wings (cannons or repeaters to match my loadout - i don't dare use the scatterguns lol) and it feels like it's helped me have fewer instancesof infinite s2 shields. Maybe it's all in my head, but it's not like the 2 hardpoints on teh wings add *that* much dps compared to the s5's on the front :D
So I own the Retaliator but am unable to change the stock torpedoes? I'm at Area 18 and own both the Typhoon IX and the Seeker IX torpedoes. Yet on the vehicle loadout manager, I am unable to see anything other than the Argos IXs?
You have to unequip every torpedo on a single missile rack before it lets you see the other torps that are available. It's really unintuitive but it's because you can only have a single type of missile on a given rack. You also need the torpedos to be in the same location as your ship where you're doing the loadout manager, but once all that is set you should be able to change it.
Awesome video! Though haven’t watched the entirety of it, would you also consider teach us/demonstrate how to use less expensive ships to do bounty hunting, like Gladius or Buccaneer? Thanks!
Thank you so much! And I'm hoping to do more hour-long demonstrations like this for other ships as well. The issue with light fighters is that they typically have very low dps which is really tough for VHRTs. I might do a beginner thing for bounty hunting for the lower tiers with light fighters though, thanks for the suggestion! In the meantime, you can see some footage in my tierlist video for each of the ships. It's not complete combat, but it shows a bit of how i fly them in the meantime
@@WingZeroType That's awesome! I have watched all of your tier list videos and enjoyed them very much, just that I don't think I am utilizing them to the max potential, so I'm curious to see how to make the most money out of cheaper ships lol!
@@yiyang4445 yeah that makes sense! I think the cheaper ships are probably much more viable in beacons if you have those available to you, up to medium threat beacons. Those are definitely a great way to make money and the fact that they're in zero-g space means you'll be able to fully use the mobility of light and medium fighters.
Man since this update I haven't been able to hit crap with my Tali. Previously I was like 75% hit rate. This patch they shoot em down or flare them off. I'm doing Critical threats with friends. Trying to end the HammerHeads so we can work on the Idris. And I just can't connect with the S9's. I've tried both the other than stock torps and they mostly miss. Fired from 10k down to 4k. I need more work I guess. . It was just a huge difference from the last patch. Been loving the Redeemer though lol. Thank you for the video
Thanks for sharing your experiences, I rarely get beacons so I haven't tried it there, perhaps the AI is much more aware in beacons and are triggered as soon as you quantum in, whereas for bounties it might only trigger as you get closer (which enables the Typhoons to hit even from longer distances). I'm just speculating. Anyway, i hope you can get them to work better for you! And yeah, the redeemer is a lot of fun lol
@@WingZeroType Holy crap that totally makes sense. I am pretty sure the other times I did that with a friend was just normal VHRT's or other bounties. Not Beacons. The bounties notoriously sit still for a long time til you are within 4k or so. The Beacons they are active and awake as soon as you jump in. . Would you mind testing this out on a few High or Critical Beacons just for science. I loaded up the 2 different torps to test them both out and I still wasn't having success in hitting them. Hooray for testing out theories lol.
@@WingZeroType hang out around crusader or microtech. They are random but it seems like you kinda got to kick them off. Like take a moderate. Then it will spawn a high and maybe back to back highs. Which are usually 2 valks and 1 HH. Then a critical will spawn lol. Also depends on the server population. I've switched between NA and EU to get better ones as well. The pay varies and as with anything in star citizen it doesn't pay well for groups. But you will need help or a lot of patience to kill an Idris I assume. Lol. I honestly just do them for the fun of group ship combat with friends against ai.
So clean and efficient! Well practiced. And thanks for all the tips along the way. I still have yet to break 50k an hour; in any loop - but I’m getting there. Still practicing MRTs in my Sabre before I get to move up to my Corsair and apply some exploration
Thank you so much! And I totally get it, with practice you get better and better, and you recognize the different strategies that work with different enemies :)
I'm not sure, I didn't get an eclipse yet in this patch but I think it would be pretty similar. Honestly, I'd just get whichever one you prefer. If I had to guess, I'd say the retaliator is a bit higher thanks to 2x the torpedos, but if you like the eclipse more i think they'll be pretty comparable.
Missiles have become incredibly inconsistent in 3.23 so the retaliator is nowhere near as good as it used to be, but you can still hit and one-shot VHRT targets with it. When I went out trying I was hitting probably just over half of my torps, and they were still 1-shotting all enemies except the 890Jump (but that's an ERT target)
it didn't seem that fast to me, but it does seem to somehow not get targetted by enemy fire. Maybe it is actually faster, i'm not sure. Some of Erkul's data might be outdated now since they made the client data much harder to mine
Well given that the retaliator bomber has no pilot-controlled weapons, I would suspect that a non-bomber version probably wouldn't either. But I don't actually know much about that version other than it's supposed to be modular.
Nice vid, a lot of the things you talked about I have wondered about, QT markers for example. I noticed that I had to turn off the QT some times but not always. I now have a better understanding of it all... thanks for that. A Tallie is going to be on my must have ship list.
Thank you for checking it out! And thanks for telling me that the little tips were helpful to you - this game is all about understanding the issues and knowing the workarounds
Can you help explain the issue I am having or how to fix it? I will be 10km out and get lock option with the Typhoon equipped. However, only red lock, I don't get the green missile lock till I am much closer than in your video.
That's an issue that all IR missiles have right now. Sometimes they need to get closer before they can get a green lock. I've had that happen to me as well. Then I just fly closer to the target until the lock turns green. I slow down around 5k out since I usually get a lock by 4k and I don't want to close into the target too quickly
quick note, instead of turning your quantum drive off and on, you can also pull up the map and hit "clear route." this can save you a few seconds each time
Yep this is doable in the eclipse, and I'd go with Typhoons there as well. They're the fastest missile which seems to give the best chance of hitting the target. You might have some finicky locking behavior due to them being IR missiles but they almost always end up locking if you get within about 5k
Hahaha yeah it usually works. Sometimes it doesnt, especially if there's another ship or debris from another ship on the pad. But more often than not the outpost pads work for me. Research outposts and mining facilities are the things to look for if you're looking for pads. Or you can use a site like Verseguide.com
hey thanks for the suggestion! I want to make a video about the risky salvage actually, but i just constantly feel like they're going to get nerfed anyyyyy moment right? lol. But yeah maybe at this point i should just make it. I need to get my salvage rep back up though.
Different enemies will have different signatures allowing different targeting distances. I didn't do anything special, it's just dependent on the enemy
Saw this guide - Decided to load up on Typhoons and go try group ERTS - First target were 3 hurricanes where the first pass my torps refused to lock then eventually after 1 torp decided to hit me and 3 were shot down we succeeded...With 1 target... Think I'll stick to VHRTs lol
oh interesting, I've asked a bunch of folks on my discord if they had luck with typhoons and they all reported the same 100% success rate. how fast were you closing in on the hurricanes and what was the server fps? If you fire a torpedo above SCM speed you want to make sure that the target is below you so that the torpedo doesn't need to "go through you" to get to its target. Hurricanes are the main target that IR torpedos struggle to lock, so I'm not surprised to see that it gave you trouble, but everytime I'd just close into the hurricane really slowly (100m/s or so once i'm 6k out) and it'd usually lock before too long.
On 14:20 you jumped to a closeby marker and passed the target. You got lucky you ended pretty close eitherway, but if this wasn't the case, you could drop power or force stop your quantum jump mid jump to get closer
thanks, yeah I know that's a possibility but I don't really like doing that because i'm impatient for waiting for the power and everything to come back online, so if the markers are far apart I usually just drop the mission and grab another one.
It's not my regeneration after death, but that's where I spawn after logging in/out. If you request landing at a station and are assigned a pad/hangar, then you will respawn there next time you log in. If you die, you'll respawn at your respawn location. For me, that's grim hex since PO has no medical. But in 3.20 the replacement for PO (Seraphim station) will have medical so we'll be able to do everything there :D
I haven't seen that issue with torps or any missiles so far in 3.19.1, it's been pretty good! Occassionally i have to press the "restock" button a few times for it to go through but they don't charge you for the times that it doesn't work like they used to.
2 things i dont understand, because i startet it recently. 1. Are the missiles the standart Ship weapons? 2. Why are the enemys not using the flares, or just players does it?
many ships have missiles standard, but not all. For the retaliator, the pilot only has access to the torpedos, no guns. Enemies do use flares, and you'll even see them shoot them off sometimes, but it seems they don't really work against typhoons?
Good video! I have slightly less luck locking though it’s okay, have had Hammerheads eat a Typhoon and live and had Typhoons missing entirely. Still, it is acceptable to me. However, the Retaliator pledge gives you a Gladiator and I’m having a really hard time even locking anything with the Stalkers (trying with MRT’s). Of course it’s not efficient if you already have the Retaliator, but I like to mix things up for the fun of it. Could you try the Gladiator in the same fashion and check if the Stalkers are broken? Thanks and o7!
I used the gladiator and I had pretty good luck with it, but I was always shooting my missiles from 4k in the gladiator. I never tried from further away with smaller missiles (and I don't have a gladiator anymore to try unfortunately)
@@WingZeroType Thanks, I’ll try again to check if it was some server hiccup. It was weird as I could never lock, at whatever speed or angle to the target.
not going to watch until later this week, but if it's like your other work, good show again! (lol) way to dig out a niche. i am curious what you want to get out of SC and this channel, but understand that it is not my concern.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I'm not honestly sure what I want to get out of SC, I used to play freelancer way back in the day and it was a lot of fun, and I'm really enjoying SC as well. As for the channel, it'd be great if I could continually grow it. I'm going to try to focus on being more consistent with quality content for the next few months and we'll see what happens :)
Great tips for chaining your group ERTs. Here's where i am at Step 1. Get 4,031,400aEUC Step 2. Buy retaliator for 4,031400aUEC (or $250USD at it's next sale) Step 3. make 600,00aUEC/hr
Yeah the call to arms bonuses seem to be different now, I think it has to do with how many NPCs die when the ship goes down? Maybe the NPC hammerheads don't actually have people in the turrets (even though the turrets shoot)
@@WingZeroTypeI blew one up yesterday and it had gunner corpses floating around inside near the turrets. Not sure why they're not counting towards call to arms. That would be a nice bonus for taking one down.
hey no worries, the group bounties are the bounties that are offered by the northrock service group once you've unlocked MRT-level bounties. They're initially offered in Crusader space and after you finish the trial mission (called the Pro Tem group contract) then you'll have them available in Hurston too. No ArcCorp or microtech, unfortunately. But these missions are a group of 3 bounty targets to kill and they pay a bit better than individual missions PLUS they always have quantum markers. And incase you're newer to bounty hunting, may I recommend you check out my latest video which goes over pretty much everything you need to know about bounty hunting combat: ruclips.net/video/KKfU58y0WY0/видео.html
Doing some low level bounty missions to work up to ERTS. My typhoon torps on the retaliator do not lock on until about 4K km. Could this be because the smaller bounty ships give off lower heat signatures?
yes I believe that's it. The torps struggle more with smaller targets which is why I specifically use them against ERTs. If you have a vanguard or a hornet, those are great ships to use on the way up through VHRTs.
I wouldn't do ERTs with a vanguard, you could do it but it wouldn't be worth the effort (unless you just wanted to prove that you could). You either would need to try to use distortion to shut down their shields by hitting them just rear of their center point, or you'd have to use full laser cannon and slowly slowly slowly work through all 4 shield faces while the hammerhead keeps rotating around and recharging the weakest face by pointing it away from you, all while you have to rotate around it trying to avoid incoming damage. The vanguard excels at Group VHRTs, I'd suggest leaving the ERTs for the heavy hitters like the connie, 600i, Corsair, and s9 torpedo boats.
It's so good with typhoons! Also I've been flying a lot of the corsair recently to really put it through its paces now that they've buffed the thruster hp, and I've had decent success with a gimballed repeater and fixed cannon loadout now, with the S4 hardpoints set to either s3 distortion repeaters or s4 distortion cannons. I'm not sure if the distortion is actually helping with taking down enemy shields (since if you hit the infinite front shields distortion doesn't actually help you) but laser-based loadouts seem much more effective than they were in 3.19.0.
@@WingZeroType yeah I did a full gimbal on the Corsair at first with all laser cannons then swapped to a completely ballistic fixed setup and they were both extremely fun. I did run into a problem every now and then where I needed to back and downstrafe hard so the hurricane didn’t slam into me head on but the Corsair always had enough thrust to force myself out of the way. The Connie was pretty good with the stock weapons but I had a ton of fun with a full ballistic loadout with x2 ad5bs and ad4bs. The lower guns did run out of ammo first, lowering dps quite a bit but I had enough ammo left in the ad5bs to complete a vhrt even when killing some of the escorts after the mission completed like the valks and one time a second reclaimer (he either hit the ground before I got there or got shot by bunker turrets so it was pretty red on the rear already).
@@CrabSoundsInYourHead Yeah if you've got multiple size 5 hardpoints you've got a bunch of flexibility in how you want to approach it, which is nice. I'm sad about what this did to light/medium fighters though ;_;
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah I don't have an eclipse right now but I imagine it's a hoot as well, especially with typhoons since you don't need to even get close to the enemy
@@WingZeroType Yeah, it's annoying. Sometimes when you hit F2 you'll see what you were flying to but broke out of quantum other times it looks blank. But when you clear target you can hear it calibrating.
As usual, excellent content - thank you. Unfortunately this doesn't work for me - specifically the torps will not resolve to a green state 9 times out of 10. On occasion it goes green at a few 1000 meters (real close to 'too close') - I have to crawl in and hope it snaps before I miss the window. Regardless - nicely presented vid packed with info :-)
thats so wild! I'm sorry it's not working for you, I wonder if they've changed something about how targeting works. I also did this on mostly quicker servers, 7-12 fps-ish. That might be part of it? Are you using a retaliator or an eclipse? And you are using the Typhoon torps, right?
@WingZeroType It was the server FPS. I found a shard with an average of 8-9 ish and it was an improved experience. Still sometimes 4k before the target went green but on average, better. Again, thank you for the advice. I'd say 'subbed' there but have been for a while now ;-) Fly safe o7

For me I just need to get closer, they always lock before i get to 3k. If it is still red after that point, I'm not sure what else you can do in that case
Yeah, IR torps/missiles have lock issues with Hurricanes and some other ships, but they usually lock within 3km. I read someone state that EM missiles don’t lock on ‘sleeping’ NPC ships as they aren’t powered until you are within their detection range.
That's because whatever signature type you are aiming at them is too low for a lock. IR tend not to get a lot of readings until they maneuver at you, EM have trouble vs smaller ships and stealth and cross section is strange, can get confused if ships are too close together. Had a player bounty 600i use a comm array and sat next to it and my cross section torpedoes on my gladiator weren't able to lock when he was next to it, so dumb fire it was
@@shawnc5188 Yeah i've experienced the same thing with EM missiles. It's unfortunate because the UI actually shows that it's locked with green circles but then you fire the missile and it acts as if it was dumbfired
@@WingZeroType yep, I had a 50% miss rate with Seekers. For missiles, since 3.18 I’ve had a thing for Arrows, Bullets and Chaos due to their high damage, so haven’t used EM missiles in a while.
A tip you can include in the future when you run into it again: Involuntary switching between overlapping quantum destinations can be solved by activating lock angular movement with right shift or your own keybind.
thank you so much! i'll definitely give that a try. Does the "natural sway" of the ship still not cause the involuntary switching even with the angular movement locked?
no you don't lose rep if you don't do bounties, you should still get VHRTs if you got them before. I'm not sure why you don't get them now, is your bounty hunter's guild reputation the same?
Are you using the Typhoons? the default argos torps are a lot slower than the Typhoons. The typhoons are still slow, because afterall they are giant size 9 missiles, but they should still hit
RIP Olisar. Seraphim sucks just another giant station. If they would’ve just updated Olisar with a medical center it would’ve been 100x better than seraphim.
I feel you, I really do. I get why they had to do it, b/c they also needed some other stuff that's coming down the pipe, like the cargo bay area (for things like the Hull C) and a place for bounty criminal drop offs which should be coming hopefully soonish. I like that they at least gave the station the same sort of shape, with a long station spiked through rotating rings. If they were able to give the station pads that you could just walk straight out to instead of having to take an elevator to, then I think they would've done a solid representation of the old olisar brought up to current specs.
In regards to ArcCorp - if you are grinding reputation I think that is the best place. The thing is, you get the same amount of rep from single bounties and group bounties. So if you are grinding rep, single bounties are faster. And then ArcCorp is better for the reasons you mention: Only two moons, a straight line of sight between them (for quantum jumps) and low drag.
yep I totally agree, but the only reason to get more ArcCorp rep is for higher payouts... but in that case you'll make more money overall by doing group bounties :D
I've been using my Connie to do VHRTs and ERTs up until recently when I just decided to start using a Gladius to give myself a challenge. Trying to take down a Hammerhead with a Gladius is a fun time I'll tell you that lol
@@WingZeroType Why.......? You're shooting size 9 torps... Everything should die from those.... This ship performs as intended and if anything needs some buffs to the pitiful S2 turrets.
@@WingZeroType that's what I meant. Taking the drugs and canceling the mission. If your main focus is getting aeuc then it's not bad. Seen one guy do 1.5mil in 1hr. Not too bad
Not when your ship is close enough to be targeted They'll ignore the missile in favor of you, go about 550-600 m/s, launch at 3km out and pull up and over the target ship just a second ahead of your torpedo. Eat the shots, tali can handle it.
@@schlagzahne6741 i mean did you see the the first kill he got locked and fired at 13 k away and still got the kill thats not how it ever works now i just logged in to see and it DOES NOT WORK
@SuperSkevo could be servers that are running well. If server fps is 3-10 they usually don't react well. 10-20 they sometimes nail the torp, at 20-30 they will move, shoot the torp and may even consider flares

I am looking forward to the return of stealth gameplay, then I want to try an Eclipse again :)
Great video - love all of the small tips you give while flying around. Great for a newish player like me!
A full hour raw and it didn't get boring!
Thank you so much! That's so incredibly kind of you to say, I love hearing that it was useful for you!
Lots of great info here! Going to have to rewatch to get. it all. I know a bunch of it but its great to find new stuff!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback and I really hope its useful for ya!
Great video. I learned a few little things I didn't know. I was on the fence about which torp ship to buy in game. You convinced me on the talli.
@@javadanyeah I like firing from a distance. Firing from too close is definitely more hit-or-miss
WUUUT i just tried it, it finaly hits, you saved my eclipse, thank you SO MUCH
Cheers! Really happy to help! Also, love your icon :D

Do the hammer heads not just shoot down your torps?
they tried with the EM torps, but with the IR typhoon torps shot like this, it doesn't seem like they do.

@@WingZeroType ofc! quick question- Argos or Typhoon? I know you used Typhoon in this video, but which one is more effective for PVP?
Those are definitely a great way to make money and the fact that they're in zero-g space means you'll be able to fully use the mobility of light and medium fighters.
best way to make money in light fighters is do bunkers in them😢 rip light fighters
@@yobizzyb pour one out for our light fighters homies
@@AZRacerX haha I'd love to test it out, but I never ever get beacons where I am, it's always millions of km away, so I still have no beacon rep.
You should try salvage while the vulture is in freely. Easily 80k/hour even if you're lazy.
Yeah! I really should take advantage. The Vulture has been high on my “to try” list
Thank you so much! And I totally get it, with practice you get better and better, and you recognize the different strategies that work with different enemies :)
This Looks really great. How wozld the Eclipse compare Money wise? What wozld you have ti do different top max profit with the Eclipse?
I'm not sure, I didn't get an eclipse yet in this patch but I think it would be pretty similar. Honestly, I'd just get whichever one you prefer. If I had to guess, I'd say the retaliator is a bit higher thanks to 2x the torpedos, but if you like the eclipse more i think they'll be pretty comparable.
I just bought one, your video is very informative, thank you very much! Is it still good for VHRT?
Missiles have become incredibly inconsistent in 3.23 so the retaliator is nowhere near as good as it used to be, but you can still hit and one-shot VHRT targets with it. When I went out trying I was hitting probably just over half of my torps, and they were still 1-shotting all enemies except the 890Jump (but that's an ERT target)
Thanks, Typhoon IX seems to be a lot faster than Erkul is indicating.
it didn't seem that fast to me, but it does seem to somehow not get targetted by enemy fire. Maybe it is actually faster, i'm not sure. Some of Erkul's data might be outdated now since they made the client data much harder to mine
@@WingZeroType I am with you on this one, HH dont shoot them down.
Is the retaliator (non bomber version) good for solo as well? I know it still hasn't released but still, any insight?
Well given that the retaliator bomber has no pilot-controlled weapons, I would suspect that a non-bomber version probably wouldn't either. But I don't actually know much about that version other than it's supposed to be modular.
Nice vid, a lot of the things you talked about I have wondered about, QT markers for example. I noticed that I had to turn off the QT some times but not always. I now have a better understanding of it all... thanks for that. A Tallie is going to be on my must have ship list.

Yep! i just did 3 group ERTs with typhoons tonight and everything hit :)
Good stuff man
Thanks a bunch for checking it out!
I slow down around 5k out since I usually get a lock by 4k and I don't want to close into the target too quickly
quick note, instead of turning your quantum drive off and on, you can also pull up the map and hit "clear route." this can save you a few seconds each time
ah cool ty!
@@WingZeroType no, thank you for the great guides! i look forward to your videos!
is this possible in the Eclipse also what would be the best Missiles for the Eclipse?
Yep this is doable in the eclipse, and I'd go with Typhoons there as well. They're the fastest missile which seems to give the best chance of hitting the target. You might have some finicky locking behavior due to them being IR missiles but they almost always end up locking if you get within about 5k
Well.. I had no idea you could restock at any landing pad on moons like this. I’ve literally been going to space stations to do it. Mind blown.

@@WingZeroType Think I was just having a bad day - hopped server and the hit rate did start to jump up
Just imagining these bounties from the perspective of the NPCs is terrifying. Jump in. Fire Torpedo. Jump Out.
Well in their defense, they probably are just doing random stuff and thenthe next second they're just gone lol
On 14:20 you jumped to a closeby marker and passed the target.
You got lucky you ended pretty close eitherway, but if this wasn't the case, you could drop power or force stop your quantum jump mid jump to get closer
thanks, yeah I know that's a possibility but I don't really like doing that because i'm impatient for waiting for the power and everything to come back online, so if the markers are far apart I usually just drop the mission and grab another one.
yeah wing is impatient he won't stop his ship for noone😂
@@yobizzyb /points aggressively towards the 600k/hr :D
Wait how do you make Port Oli your regen there is no hospital???
It's not my regeneration after death, but that's where I spawn after logging in/out. If you request landing at a station and are assigned a pad/hangar, then you will respawn there next time you log in. If you die, you'll respawn at your respawn location. For me, that's grim hex since PO has no medical. But in 3.20 the replacement for PO (Seraphim station) will have medical so we'll be able to do everything there :D
So have they fixed the issue with paying to rearm torps but not actually giving you torps?

Step 2. Buy retaliator for 4,031400aUEC (or $250USD at it's next sale)
Step 3. make 600,00aUEC/hr
don't forget step 2.5: equip it with Typhoon missiles!
54:22 killing Hammerhead only pays 500 credits now? I thought it was much more than that for larger target
Nubie question: What is a “group” bounty?
hey no worries, the group bounties are the bounties that are offered by the northrock service group once you've unlocked MRT-level bounties.
@@WingZeroType thank you for the quick response!
great guide
I would be very interested in a vangard ERT video with tips and tricks, i havent managed to figure a way to do ERT without torpedoes
Dang, I’ve since flown the Connie, Corsair, and 600i in vhrt’s. Now I guess I’ll have to try the s tier tali now!
@@CrabSoundsInYourHead Yeah if you've got multiple size 5 hardpoints you've got a bunch of flexibility in how you want to approach it, which is nice. I'm sad about what this did to light/medium fighters though ;_;
Nice walkthrough. Don’t have the retaliator but I do have the eclipse and it’s really fun doing bounties with it.
Thanks for checking it out! Yeah I don't have an eclipse right now but I imagine it's a hoot as well, especially with typhoons since you don't need to even get close to the enemy
You missed to add on the title of your video what level of bounty hunter would this be.😅
haha yeah the title was already prettttyyy long and since it was a retaliator I figured most people would figure it's at least VHRTs or above :D
You can also hit F2 and clear route, instead of shutting quantum off and on again.
oh cool I didn't realize that, thank you!
Tali and torps are right - almost certainly a 'me' issue but I have another go and take note of the server fps.

Some times the torps\missiles won't lock they just stay red ( target is not even moving) any fix for that?
The actual keybind name is "Flight - Movement: Lock Pitch / Yaw Movement (Toggle / Hold)"
thank you so much! i'll definitely give that a try. Does the "natural sway" of the ship still not cause the involuntary switching even with the angular movement locked?
You convinced me to try bounties again, I was on VHRT's 3 weeks ago. But now all I get are HRT's. Do we loose rep if we don't do bounties?
no you don't lose rep if you don't do bounties, you should still get VHRTs if you got them before. I'm not sure why you don't get them now, is your bounty hunter's guild reputation the same?
"Individual ERT's will only give us 30k" 😲
haha yeah well compared to group ERTs which pay 35k per target plus you always get quantum markers!
@@WingZeroType was talking about the 30k error. ^^
@@johanarnehed1641 ohhhh hahahaha
I have only flown the retaliatory for the majority of my career in SC... it is the best thing ever...I am the VENTILATOR...
wooooo! its such a fun ship
idk, my torps just vanish after a few seconds and they are super SLOW!!
Are you using the Typhoons? the default argos torps are a lot slower than the Typhoons. The typhoons are still slow, because afterall they are giant size 9 missiles, but they should still hit
@@WingZeroType I'm using the stock torps
@@Dumb-Comment oh yes you definitely want to upgrade those to the Typhoon IR torps. The stock torps are really bad this patch.
This guy is legit. Very helpful info.
Thanks a bunch! I appreciate you checking this out wingonetype!
You probably just sold a couple hundred retaliators for CIG with this video. Lol
hahaha maybe. I should ask them for a free retaliator in return :D
I've been using my Connie to do VHRTs and ERTs up until recently when I just decided to start using a Gladius to give myself a challenge. Trying to take down a Hammerhead with a Gladius is a fun time I'll tell you that lol
hahaha tell me honestly, how sweaty were your palms by the end?
damn! now cig will nerf typhoon
honestly... they should lol. It shouldn't be this easy IMO
@@WingZeroType Why.......? You're shooting size 9 torps... Everything should die from those.... This ship performs as intended and if anything needs some buffs to the pitiful S2 turrets.
@@CoyoteOneI think you shouldn't have a 100% hit rate. The enemy should at least have a chance to dodge or shoot down the torp
Rip port olisar😢
I know man... I know. I am glad to have respawn capabilities at Seraphim, but damn do I miss walking out onto those pads
890 Jump in 24hr. Got it.
Time to write a bot to launch torps!
Funny how salvage is much more profitable
I really don't think that's true. Salvage makes a lot lot less money than this unless you're taking advantage of a bug/exploit.
@@WingZeroType that's what I meant. Taking the drugs and canceling the mission. If your main focus is getting aeuc then it's not bad. Seen one guy do 1.5mil in 1hr. Not too bad
naw they fuqin shoot the missles now
Not when your ship is close enough to be targeted
They'll ignore the missile in favor of you, go about 550-600 m/s, launch at 3km out and pull up and over the target ship just a second ahead of your torpedo. Eat the shots, tali can handle it.
@@schlagzahne6741 i mean did you see the the first kill he got locked and fired at 13 k away and still got the kill thats not how it ever works now i just logged in to see and it DOES NOT WORK
I mean I just showed a video of an hour straight of it working... are you using the Typhoon missiles?
@@WingZeroType sure am
@SuperSkevo could be servers that are running well. If server fps is 3-10 they usually don't react well. 10-20 they sometimes nail the torp, at 20-30 they will move, shoot the torp and may even consider flares
