I just wanna say that i love these podcasts! They get me through my day at school and brings me to spontaneous laughter during class.
I fucking lost it when they were talking about the Mario.
Humor has been an instrumental tool for me to help cope with some things going on in my life. When people make a fuss about comedians being insensitive to a touchy topic it comes across as an attempt to help maintain political correctness, and even then it is often for someone else's behalf. But this in itself is a form of censorship and should not be tolerated. Regardless of whether they are talked about or not, twisted things, people, and ideas exist. I think it is best to talk about the things that hurt us, and if you acclimate yourself to the point where you can laugh in the face of what used to make you the most afraid then you have grown as a person. And, as they mentioned in the video, there's clearly a difference in making a joke on a podcast and going at lengths to yell in a specific person's face. Thank you for the laughs! They are appreciated

It's so weird hearing Cory bring up Sargon, a guy who goes out of his way to be antagonistic for attention, and then describes the response as if he wasn't the instegator.
Yeah even in the height of 2016 I thought he was a pseudo-intellectual prick at best.
I had a couple friends back then that became fairly prominent and well known figures in that era's alt right and it was something else watching their mental health deteriorate in real-time. Some were well intentioned but others went full lizard people Q-tard, was depressing watching some former mates descend into 4AM forum schizos.
Cory had a point about seeking that stuff out being bad for your health imo

Holy crap! Matt Vargas! I haven't watched his videos in so long. I remember back when he made Life of a Shy Guy. I had no idea he was friends with Zack and Chris. That's really cool!

I'm not really a fan of Family Guy anymore, but it did give me some laughs. I think that with different forms of comedy, as in shows and people, is that when they're funny, there are ones that are constantly funny, delivering nonstop laughs whether they're all big or all small or mixed, but then there are ones that are sometimes funny, but when it's funny it's REALLY funny. Some people only like constant laughs, and I watch let's play channels like Two Best Friends and Game Grumps, that's probably the best example of when they're funny, the jokes hit hard! I'm not really a Pewdiepie fan, but I really liked his Bully playthrough because there was one joke that I remember that really got me. I'll also add that let's players are funnier depending on how well they can play off what the game provides them, when they react and think of something fast enough to deliver something funny at the best time. The joke in Bully was right when the kid becomes the king and Pewdiepie starts going "YEAH who's the king! Say it! Say it!" then he grabs a nearby small child and starts punching him and keeps saying "FUCKING SAY IT!"
I don't think you can skip those immature stages. I don't think it's a waste of time in the sense that you need it to move on from it.

I guess we are a lot about learning from past generations, starting where other people left off to get further. When it comes to behaviour that's just very difficult. You can't really explain why something is immature or something like that. You can't _learn_ from fiction but when an author has a lot of experience and has learned a lot from life, and they express what they've learned with what happens in the story, then it might make you think so that you can _faster_ learn from your own experience.
I like Sargon of Akkad's videos. His 'this week in stupid' videos, to me, is more of a informational piece. Like a, "hey, this is the bullshit that exists in the world."
TWIS was always shit but there wasn't anything else like it and it confirmed his viewer's (I was one at the time) beliefs at the time. His tantrums whenever someone mentioned women's rights or racism are so pathetic and now he's gone full right wing crazy.
He went from casual racist to reactionary youtuber to outright neo-nazi. I feel so embraced whenever I remember I used to watch him and what the standards of online political discourse were.

Ghost Adventures can actually make shit convincing. If they catch a spike on their EMF detector, they whip out their throbbing EVP recorder or SLS camera or any other fancy ghost device and try to prove it is actually a ghost and not just some error with the device. I also like how sometimes they will see a table cloth moving by itself and their all like "Oh my god do you see that?" and then "lol nevermind it's just that open window haha" [DEBUNKED]
