I did Goju Ryu when i was a teenager for a while. I also did Kyokushin about a year ago for a bit too. Makes me wish i didn't quit Kyokushin but there are too many techniques in karate that just aren't practical and i realised this when training. I do bjj now and love it. I did kickboxing and Muay Thai for 6 years so i'm not a quitter and have enough striking knowledge.
Maybe it's just that you didn't know how to use the techniques. You must not have went to a very good school and I assume that's because you live in America. It's hard to find good karate schools in America that have the old stuff like okinawan and Japanese karate does. Don't blame the art it will make you look like a fool :).

For being a master. man, his balance isn’t so good, can he try kicking with out almost falling or grabbing the student, I get it’s a demonstration but if ur the teacher u should be able to stand on one leg and deliver a kick or stomp, but I’m sure he’s a great teacher.
remember he's quite old now so that might be the reason for him not being able to properly dempsntrate the techniques hes showing but i guess thats why the other guys there
When I first started, my instructor was in a wheelchair for several months and then assisted walking with a cane for year. So I literally spent my first year learning from someone who couldn't walk and balance due to a bad car wreck and surgery. Translation of knowledge comes from repetition training over a long time. Not a few demonstrations.

I usually don’t like to knock a grandmaster on technique, but his kicks lack any pivot on his support foot and his legs are not fully loaded into chamber. This results in quick but half-kicks that lack full power and range. It might work in pint fighting and perhaps in close quarter combat (I.e. indoors), but in my style it’s considered improper technique and my style incorporates a lot of the same techniques and forms as GJR.
I mean, the guy was 65 years old at the time this video was recorded. Only in anime do the old masters perform flawless techniques even in their 60s and 70s. In real life most of them have bad knees or other issues by that age. He seems knowledgeable enough though.

As black belts they should know this so who passed them?

So nice
great teaching in these videos, but I am amazed that given all the students here have black belts how many of them seem to lack good basics?

Why do many of these black belts appear to have never done this before?
Lol. I was thinking the same thing. Belts are meaningless when they are given out like candy
What’s the intro music?

What dialect of Japanese is this guy counting in
Maybe Uchinaguchi??
Saka Mohkoh
probably Okinawan

13:01 Whats your level? If you look at the his belt he is like a training 20 years.. But the movements are like a beginner.
Why do you feel the need to talk shit about everyone in the video? They are there to learn and are listening and absorbing, consider doing the same.
Because he's teaching basics
looks like 3rd Dan to me.
Wow. All balck belts
Gotta fund the mcdojo
in any style you need extreme condition of body to move better
it is like a circular movement but you can shorten the range of movement
Oss
lower kicks are safer but don't snap your leg up rather proceed from lower level
12:49 Everything is removed during training. how did they get a black belt?
She indicated it's a heart monitor watch. It is implied she has some sort of condition that requires it.
Why do they take their shirts off for some katas?
trân huy may nam
9:18 where did you get that belt...he is like a brown belt.. terrible,
no kidding my purple belt technique is better. That is like 3-5 dan belt

He is grabbing his opponent to pull him into the kick, as to do more damage

And i am 5th Dan Goju Ryu and 1st Dan Judoka. Having experience in both, i could counter your judo moves easily, white belt.
All the people with black belts but I don't like their movement.

I was just thinking, thats the most impressive class Ive seen, everyone makes black belt 😒
