Hedgehogs will often pop because they learned that if they do it you'll back off. Its not always out of fear. They trained their humans to leave them alone if tgey pop.
I am day 3 with meh new lil'guy! Bit stubborn but he has alot to take in. And I love him and a hit with my pit mixes. Super cute
Breaks my heart! They are wild creatures. Let them run free please.
Yes, where they’re almost endangered. That’s working great.
I’ve been having a hard time finding the different sounds and reasons behind them. Would you be able to make a video on what they all sound like? It would be such a help❤
That would be a good video and as we catch them making different sounds we'll try to capture them. Unfortunately they typically quit making the sounds when we get the camera out to video!.
My lovely pygmy hedgehog girl only clicked and popped.
We to this day have no idea why. She was the kindest cuddliest creature, never curled up in a ball, but was sometimea nasty making clicking noises out of nastyness xDD
I have one and this helps me a lot
my hedgehog doesn't get scared when i pet it when it's in its cage but once i wanna pick him up he starts curling into a ball and become jumpy and huffs what do i do
What you are experiencing sounds very normal. Does your hedgehog sleep in a sleeping bag? Can you pick up the sleeping bag to get him out and gently tilt the bag down so that he can walk out? Take baby steps in earning his trust by doing a lot of nothing.

I’m a bit late but here did you get that holder thing?
We make them and sell them as bonding sets…. www.critterconnection.cc/productsDetails.php?ProdCatID=27&ProdID=500588
can you make more videos
I am so sorry that I missed your message. Do you have any video topic requests?
@@HedgehogConnection Perhaps, maybe some Hedgehog routines? I got a hedgehog yesterday, and I'm still a bit unsure of their main routine and such.

What do I do if he keeps clicking
When you hear the clicking and popping it means your hedgehog is REALLY scared. The simple answer is to decrease the stressors that are making it feel threatened. Unfortunately the best way for me to help you is to actually see what is going on while you are interacting with your hedgehog so that I can give you advice specifically for you and your hedgehog. Think of it like someone trying to teach you how to tie your shoes over the phone. It helps to see what is going on. We do have a video consultation service if that should interest you.
