48 year old designer here, working the curve into new tech after decades in Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign (and recently Procreate) and this blew my mind. Thank you. I purchased affinity last night without a clue as to how this all works. I have been watching their videos the entire day but haven’t learned what I needed to in order to get started or even know how to start. I would use pages before and cut and paste and got pretty good at it but since loosing the firm we hired due to their inability to be creative on an essence level beyond coding.I have set out to learn enough myself to save money. So much easier said than done. I’m only a few minutes in and your voice is soothing and finally after an entire day Of trying to find a video with basics and beyond I feel I am going to learn how to be someone who can not draw but is a designer be able to figure out a middle ground and hopefully save thousands of dollars.
You’re an excellent teacher. I appreciate the way stay on the topic, give examples as you speak, and keep a reasonable pace for we who are new to this. I hope you’ll keep up your good work!

Most tutorials go so fast- they tap around between selections too quickly & utterly lose those of us who are looking at this interface for the first time. This was excellently done.
Hi If the speed of delivery is to fast, then as the video starts click the three dots in the top right of the video click playback speed and select a speed that is suitable for you to follow.

This was an. Extremely useful overview of the app. As a complete beginner in Vector drawing/designing I would really like to see a simple tutorial as to how you actual guide your pen/pencil using anchor points to create the lines and curves you want. It feels totally alien from drawing freehand and I find the drawing tool has a life of its own and doesn’t do what I want.i would be grateful for an explanation of how to do this. Many thanks for all the tutorials.
ok so I have to give it to you that this was a well invested half hour. This gets me going since I been dreading to learn it and keep doing illustrator. Now I got a head start. Other videos are just to long to watch in one sit. I needed something to bring me in. This already got me designing again but in my iPad Pro, muahahahahaha!

I bought this app today - was experiencing buyers remorse as I struggled to make it work. Then I saw your video! Now I'm worried that I'm going to spend too much time on it! A couple of great tutorials I've seen for other products involve reproducing an existing graphic - eg. in this case, on the right insert a complicated infographic - then build it from scratch on the left. Appreciate all your videos. I’ve been using Procreate for a long time, but missed vector scaling. Use to have Adobe Illustrator a few years ago and was really excited when I found and purchased Affinity Designer. This app will take time to learn so would really appreciate any additional tutorials demonstrating some of these advanced tools for Vector graphics.

I will watch everything u upload, if you continue with this segment. ;) I've been trying to get into Adobe soft for years..but , for some reason ..never got around to do it. The only one I really use is Lightroom. Recently I bought an iPad and Affinity Photo. I am a photographer and also decided to go back to college to study Architecture. Basically, I need to edit photos, I need to freehand draw on the iPad (I also got Procreate recently as well) , and I need to assemble some nice looking architectural project panels, for school. Today I bought Affinity Publisher for the Mac since I believe it will help me laying out those panels. So...I am undecided about getting this one...as I believe Photo and Publisher would suffice. Would getting Designer just be a bit overkill...or do you think it's got a space within that kind of workflow/use. ?? Cheers from Portugal Many thanks!

It has some featues that might be relevant such as measurements, angles and more. I'd say check it out on RUclips before buying though 😄

Art and Design currently I use my iPad Pro to take a picture and upload it into the program. However I am need to learn how to make sure the pattern pieces are scaled to size so I can put them in a PDF form and also use my cutting machine to cut some of the pieces out.
