At the end. I balled up like a baby and just let it out. I cried my ass off. I want to Thank God that he put me in that era of time so that I could witness, grow up on, learn from and be educated from such greatness. This was truly the Golden Era. The sports world couldn't show enough appreciation for these two Titanic Icons. They are the Greatest of the Great. Believe that.
What once was strong, even that has gone wrong. I miss those days. Ali was the best, and Ali and Cosell loved each other. Hard to believe their gone. Rest in peace to both.
Back when TV announcers were more entertaining with their play by play commentary because of their radio announcing background. Cosell was one of a kind and we'll never have another like him.
As a child, before HBO & Showtime; I enjoyed watching both Cosell & Ali on ABC. Cosell was a natural and of course Ali, the Greatest! I miss their chemistry!!
Great pairing, the greatest sports personality along with the greatest sports announcer, the two icons blended well. Cosells' true apex was his Monday Night Football halftime highlights, they were as close to journalistic perfection as will ever be.
Let me say I was one of Howard's naysayers when he retired from boxing analysis. But having been involved very closely with the sport and seeing the terrible destruction it does to great fighters (like Ali and others I have known) I think if anything made Howard great it was his repulsion of boxing in his later years. RIP Howard, you are loved.
Well deserved! The relationship between Ali and Cosell would make a great stage play. My guess is Ali respected Cosell BECAUSE he asked questions other journalists wouldn't ask.
The 2 men were very close friends. When Ali was banned for his Vietnam stand, Howard gave the Champ money to feed his kids. They were both the best in their respective fields and had a deep respect for each other.
Muhammad Ali and Howard Cosell were truly good friends. They're now together in heaven/paradise, being themselves. Rest in peace, Howard Cosell and Muhammad Ali
Really great video. I never really listened to Ali before and was only used to him in is excited state after bouts. He really is a compassionate man. Thanks for making this.
Thank you Ash. Just beautiful. Very raw and genuine respect on a very basic platform of mutual admiration - kindred souls. RIP gentlemen. You have touched and blessed humanity. Thank you. May your intertwined names always be remembered. RIPMozzman.

The only sport I ever followed was boxing. I was to young to see the first several fights of the Champ. But in the mid 70s , as a young kid I got to see some of this stuff as it aired. Howard loved the Champ and I think it was mutual. RIP Howard and God bless Muhammad Ali.
This is a classic piece! The 60's Ali looked so fucking cool! He WAS the shit! and Cosell knew it! The life he must have lived! Like Elvis! and Sinatra is all I could compare it to! By the way my 3 all~time "Hero's" Ali talked enough for 2 lifetimes I heard he said once.."don't feel sorry for me" He was a once in a lifetime human being! God (Allah) bless him! I loved Cosell too..I just turned 50! I grew up with these Icons! Those were some wonderful years! (68'-80')
I'm so glad that someone made this! I've always loved the relationship that Ali and Cosell, which is only made better by Howard Cosell's 50th birthday wish to Ali. Thanks for the upload! I hope you got an A!
They both rose to the top of their respective fields. They both could function in any setting. They both shared extraordinary intellect, wit, and tenacity. Howard an educated attorney. Mohamad, not so much. They saw each other as equals and treated one another as such. They shared a very special friendship that grew into love and Howard, with a tear in his eye, told Mohamad so publicly on Mohamad's 50th birthday. My hunch is that they are still shadow boxing one another and quibbling about something, somewhere. At least, I hope so.
what a close friendship it was for 20 + Years.? Howard supported Ali all through his career,? Even through his refusal to be inducted,? In the Military.? Now that was a God made Friendship.? May they both RIP,? As they will be missed by all of their Fans.?
I wish I could've been around to appreciate Ali. I'm 43, just a little young for that time. I would've loved to been around to see what that time was about. I love watching boxing. But I can't even name any champion. But as a kid, I knew who he was, I knew who he was fighting, it's sad that the sport went to hell.
I just subscribed. thanks for this assembly of Ali and Cosell. I was just saying I hope there's a heaven and Cosell is interviewing Ali once again and in a few years I'll get to see it. You have them here though. I guess I'll stick around. lol
"EXACTLY" - I'm Old enuf, to REMEMBER Seeing MANY OF THESE CLIPS, WHEN THEY ORIGINALLY OCURRED & CAN TOTALLY APPRECIATE THIS "EXCELLENT" COMPILATION OF ALI & COSELL !!! AS AKROID SAID ABOUT COSELL - "LOVED BY SOME, HATED BY MANY, BUT IGNORED BY NOBODY" !!!
One of those rare love-hate friendships that brought out the best in each. Not a true friendship, of course, for after Ali retired, neither would have actually wanted to invite the other home to dinner. But while Ali lasted, what fun they gave us.
As a UK citizen love all that old American TV stuff, recognise that old guy's voice though never knew who we was. Shame the US media is now so bland and run by dishonest horrible people with no individuality or souls.
Thanks God to let see and grew up during the Golden era of boxing. Everybody wanted to be Ali when we putted on the gloves in the backyard after school. No video games .
Their friendship defied reality as we know it today. As someone once said, a young Black Muslim and an old White Jew: their friendship should not have existed in our fractured reality but it did. They were like brothers. Now they are both on the other side, and the afterlife is enjoying that canter, that relationship between giants.
Muhammad Ali and Howard were America's answer to Ali and Harry Carpenter in Britain Mr Ali was the greatest not just as sportsman but the greatest at unifying sport and politics We will never see another athlete !Ike Muhammad Ali R.I.P Muhammad everybody loved you

I love these two!!!Like all good things, they came to pass😩😩
They made a great comedy act...LOL.... Love them both R.I.P. Muhammed and Howard, You both will always stay in my heart.
Back when TV announcers were more entertaining with their play by play commentary because of their radio announcing background. Cosell was one of a kind and we'll never have another like him.
Cosell and Ali were as good as it gets.
Beautiful. The last clip of them together made my eyes misty.
this made me smile amazing friendship you just don't see this today anywhere on TV the connection between the two. I wish I was around to witness.
This made my heart feel good. Thank you.
Thank you! and no problem. It's amazing to watch Muhammad mature over his young years!
As a child, before HBO & Showtime; I enjoyed watching both Cosell & Ali on ABC. Cosell was a natural and of course Ali, the Greatest! I miss their chemistry!!
I watched a ton of Ali Videos, Interviews etc and it just came to me that Ali never ever cursed once. He has the class of the greatest of all times
some of the best banter ever came from Howard and Ali
Howard and Muhammad are probably up in heaven continuing the bantering.
Cary Carpenter the world must wait till the day of judgement before u in heaven or hell.
They were Such Great Friends 2 Legends !
I was looking for ONE, just one, video to remember him and tear up, and was lucky to pick this one. Thank you.

I did, thank you! There relationship really was amazing! It's so cool to see how it grew over the years and how they stayed such close friends.
I love these guys.
I hope you received an A+ for your great work! Very tastefully done.
+Claude White I did, thank you!
Well deserved! The relationship between Ali and Cosell would make a great stage play. My guess is Ali respected Cosell BECAUSE he asked questions other journalists wouldn't ask.

I have no idea how Howard Costell could have been of any significance without Ali. And yet I do acknowledge their unique relationship.
The only sport I ever followed was boxing. I was to young to see the first several fights of the Champ. But in the mid 70s , as a young kid I got to see some of this stuff as it aired. Howard loved the Champ and I think it was mutual. RIP Howard and God bless Muhammad Ali.

I truly loved there relationship
I hope they're enjoying a good laugh together this morning
Ali was a coin collector all his life. Even when he supposedly lost all of his money, he had gold coins worth millions. He was nobody's fool.
How do you know he didn’t sell those coins to stay afloat? Literally everybody that’s rich has to liquidate their expensive shit once they go broke.
Thanks for posting this! Much appreciated.
Thanks for watching! :)

fantastic job.........thank you for posting !
Given how people talk these days, these two seem mild mannered! They sure didn't way back them. Guess it really was a more innocent age in some ways.
The best one two in their professions of any era, sport, business…

The soul of Ali gave a spirit in all part of sport.
Thank you very much for your best comment.
Howard Cossell is a forgotten broadcaster without Ali.
RIP Muhammad Ali!
I saw on one video where Muhumad Ali said, " I love working with Howard Cosell".
this was amazing

Excellent video...thank you
Thank you.. a lot of them made me tear up! haha
Howard and Ali makes human relations today look so small.
These two guys relationship reminds me of Magic and Bird, or vise versa
He was the best Announcer in Sports Ever.? May he RIP
Howard knew how to tease Ali telling him that he was afraid of J . F. to make Ali talks about Joe saying homemade champions. They were a show.
Love them both
Thanks God to let see and grew up during the Golden era of boxing. Everybody wanted to be Ali when we putted on the gloves in the backyard after school. No video games .
