Over a decade I've been waiting for this. 10+ YEARS. Now I can have different drum kits/mixes instantly, all mixed, all routed correctly. Man, this will save me months of my life. No need to build an all-in-one template anymore with 300+ orchestral tracks. I can drag in what I need when I need it. So hyped for Black Friday. I may never need to upgrade Studio One again. UI is still pretty uninspiring though.
The inclusion of the delay and full routing and finally pushing me to move to a barebones orchestral template setup with everything ready to go as track presets. Very nice!
@@studioonetutorials So, do you preset your standard bussing, panning, and effects channels in the console, and then make sure that every track preset you create conforms? (i.e. as if creating a big template, but doing it modularly, gradually?)
@@studioonetutorials That's wonderful . Thanks Looking forward to see what it is about. Oh, I need to watch more of your tutorials, i.e. the one about Studio One Scoring Tools, and some of the later posts you added recently.
Really useful Lucas, thanks so much! What a great new addition (along with the new video options) … and perfect timing too as I’ve finally given up with the current version of Logic Pro! They have a track import option but nothing like as comprehensive and workflow-friendly as this! Thanks again. 🙂
Thanks so much for explaining this so well! I am interested in orchestral programming, and this approach seems much better for me than creating a huge template with thousands of tracks. I especially like the idea of saving a group of tracks as a preset. For example, I can see myself saving several groups of string instruments, some bigger, and some more intimate. Also, I wasn't aware of the vocoder track preset, which I will definitely try out. A while back, I had tried to use the Arturia vocoder instrument, but S1 did not support using an audio track as a source, which, if I understand correctly, V6 now does. I had to resort to using a the OVox effect, which was great, but it would have been nice to have the Arturia vocoder as an option. Again, thanks for the terrific review of this new feature.
Hey Lukas, when dragging multiple tracks over to the track preset browser it combines them all in a single preset, like you showed in your video. However, is there a way to move multiple tracks over and have them save as individual presets? As example, if you moved your entire CSS string section over, you would get 5 individual presets, instead of 1 combined?
Hey Lukas, I just upgraded (couldn't wait til Black Friday). I notice at 5:35 you load a track preset which includes busses. Is there a way to include FX too? My example: I have a drum kit, multi output (kick, snare, etc). This feeds into a bus called Drums. It also has an FX channel for parallel compression called Crush. Is it possible to combine all of this (Bus, FX and individual channels) into a track preset? So far I've managed to combine the individual channels and the bus channel, but can't figure out how to include the FX channel :( Hope this makes sense
Hey, yes, FX channels should be stored automatically as soon as they're used somewhere in the routing of the track in the Track Preset. So if you're track goes into a bus and this bus uses sends (FX channels), they should all be stored and recalled with the Track Preset. Are you sure they were all connected when you saved the Track Preset...?
The whole drum kit is going through a drum bus and the kick and snare were being also being sent to the Crush FX channel. It preserves the FX send levels but not the FX channel itself :( If I can somehow have everything saved as one, I'll be super happy as it will save a tonne of time and headache in the future:)
@@jbalancomposer9899 I just tried it again with Addictive Drums, multiple outputs, one of them going into a Bus and this Bus having a Send (FX Channel). Then I stored a Track Preset for this track and loaded this in a new song. All multi outs, the busses and all the FX channels were recalled. If that does not work on your side, you probably should make a support ticket and describe your case (perhaps provide the song so that we can reproduce the issue or figure out what's going on there). But what you describe should definitely be possible.
It's working now. I didn't try anything different. I have no idea why it wasn't working earlier. The only thing I did differently was send the whole drum bus to the FX first, save as track preset and drag it back in and it worked. I have no idea what's going on. As long as it's working now though I don't mind so much but it was strange that it wouldn't work earlier.. Thanks man, apologies for taking your time on a Sunday like this, I do appreciate it though!
