Vocoder was a big feature for me, now it is here. I tried many different vocoders and there are not many VSTs out there. I recommened the Waldorf vocoder, but this one is easy to use and straight out of the box.
Very cool that Presonus brought in a native vocoder and it sounds great! Thanks for the in-depth tutorial on this one, I can't wait to try it out. Happy Holidays Gregor!
wow amazing just enough to add a little flavor ive been thinking about switching to studio one from protools and more i learn the more amazed i am with studio one
Great job Gregor. Nice to see a vocoder plug-in within Studio One version 6. Makes me want to upgrade from version 5. Sounds great, great robotic aesthetic. I have always been a big Kraftwerk fan.
Why is this vocoder not an instrument with the possibility to input audio from a sidechain. Ok I have an Arturia vocoder that can do that but now the Arturia vocoder complains that S1 not support sidechain input. I have the latest version 6.1 installed where this should be possible and CORRECTION IT IS SUPPORTED !! : You have to press the Sidechain button and choose an audio source/track typical a Mic input. I must praise Studio One support that quickly answered my request. If you have not have choosen a sidechain source , Arturia Vocoder V complains that sidechain input is not supported by Studio One which is not true in my version 6.1.1 Sorry about my complaint. I am happy that it works.
Thank you, you are the only one who provided that information, at first when I got the Arturia I couldn't find any directions on how to get the vocoder to work, now it's working Thank you Thank you!!!
That sweater is absolutely fabulous! FYI... I've really been super impressed with my 4 free trial months of Sphere! It's definitely worth the (cancel at any time flexible) $15 a month subscription by leaps and bounds IMO, and I definitely plan on exclusively using it going forward. I'm not quite fully at a 100% pre-transitional workflow efficiency, but honestly that's mostly due to me just inherently underestimating past DAWs, and discovering the total intuitive power that's under the hood within Studio One,! Needless to say? There has been many exciting "eureka" moments along the way! BTW? This vid is obviously 7 months old, but yet just recently? I've been on a serious Electro Funk tangent like a MoFo! Ha! Kraftwerk, Planet Rock, Egyptian Lover, Jam on it ect... Get outa my brain! lol! Now, one can't necessarily pull any of that off w/o a Vocoder now can they?! Haha! Thanks for demoing how Gregor! "Wiki wiki wiki" 🙃
Could you please show how to vocode using vocals routed to midi? To Get The «zedd-sound»:) havent found any toutorials on this yet… Perhaps using a third-party plugin as well!
Hey, Thanks Greg! Do people in here know the free VST "Midi Choir"? I'm on Mac and Midi Choir is not available. Can I somehow make the S1 stock Vocoder behave the same way? Thanks
Hey Gregor, I could actually finally understand your speaking voice better when you used the Vocoder. lol........just kiddin. I think I already know your answer, but I am still using Studio 5 Professional and I love the software, but I am still trying to decide if I want to change at this point. I am in the middle of recording 14 new song projects, so if I change midstream is it going to effect me much, as far as initially slowing down my workflow? Also, it's a little unclear what he price will be, since I am already using S5 Pro.
Wow, nice, thank you!!! I didn't know you can do such stuff with vocoder! Your bass track is also amazing! Can you please tell me which preset did you use in Mai Tai for that bass at 8:40? And did you record the bass track with a MIDI controller or you just draw it within MIDI Editor? I'm a beginner and I have problems doing some nice dynamic bass track. (I dont have MIDI controller yet) THX
Nice, but I can't get it to work with a live midi keyboard playing, only post production with a midi chord clip. Ils there something wrong with midi keyboard live triggering the vocoder ?
I want to use the vocoder to make a synth use vocals to play midi but it doesnt switch to external. So i will have to play notes and then sidechain. Hopefully Presonus will change that in the next update.
I've been meaning to look into vocoders for a couple weeks now and what a lucky coincidence that I got to watch this! Thank you for the well-explained and well-showcased tutorial videos. Are there vids like this (or a playlist) for other plugins such as Ampire?
Hey :) i Wonder if you could help me I have so5 artist and my m-audio oxygen 49 pro attached to it. It runs via preset mackie for controls and new keyboard for melody as suggested in the instructions, I cant assign any sliders or knobs to virtual instruments, including the default ones with one exception - the one that's normally auto-assigned to master-volume The preset doesn't allow to midi learn, although seems to feature a lot of daw-functionality that I wouldn't really like to recreate from scratch just to try if it works then. Do you think you know a solution?
Will you ever deal with the Midi CC Problem, expacially when using Atom SQ? "MIDI CC buttons in Studio One mode Even more bizarre than “always on” is that even though you have 8 configurable encoders, and you can configure 8 pages of those (for a total of 64 parameters that can be controlled by the knobs) there isn’t a single button that would send a MIDI CC command in Studio One mode. Bank switching buttons A-H can send those in “standalone” (generic) mode, but when connected to Studio One shift + A-H have special meaning leaving you MIDI button-less. I can see two ways to remedy this: Instead of “Shift” use a different modifier like holding a “User” or “Instrument” button for A-H to work as MIDI CC buttons. Implement a general command in Studio One for sending MIDI CC commands, so that we can create macros for specific commands (not sure how feasible this is) and then attach those to buttons on the User page. 🎯 If you agree that it’s crucial to have assignable MIDI buttons, please vote for this issue here."
Hi, you can absolutely use this in real-time also! Just make sure that you have monitor arm enabled (blue speaker icon) on your respective channel. -GBY
Thanks so much! I discovered the vocoder today after updating Studio One and wow, I love it. Brilliant explanation. Danke!
I find very insulting that the first comment is´nt about the AWESOMENESS of this sweater. Greg is the best
What a fabulous video! Game-changer for me. Gregor is always amazing but this is a very special eleven minutes Thank you!
Thumbs up for the cat sweater 👍

OMG, I love your hoodie Gregor!!!!
Great job Gregor. Nice to see a vocoder plug-in within Studio One version 6. Makes me want to upgrade from version 5. Sounds great, great robotic aesthetic. I have always been a big Kraftwerk fan.
Thanks Gregor! That was cat-tacular! Happy Holidays ✌
Allright, I am upgrading to Studio One 6.
Fun fact, clicking the Presonus icon on the vocoder changes the color of the interface. Other than that, great tutorial.
Thanks! I saw that Joe Gilder's ProEQ is light, while mine is dark. I like the lighter look, I might look for the Presonus button.
sick
I wish I knew this stuff as well as you do Gregor. Merry Christmas bro.
All I ever wanted, all I ever needed...
Thank you Gregor.
Man i might just have to finally upgrade. Looks like so much creative fun. Thanks Gregor!
Thank you, Keith! Give it a go...:) -GBY
Awesome! But why limited to 20 bands only?

Great vid Gregor. That Xmas Cat hoodie might be worth a merch drop on the Presonus shop?

Great...but if Is possibile to explain how to play in real time with vocal and keyboard🤷🎤🎹 thx
Hi Roberto, yes that's possible of course - just make sure you enable Monitor Arm (the blue speaker icon) on the Tracks. -GBY
I like your cloth, where can I buy it?
Hey Gregor, I could actually finally understand your speaking voice better when you used the Vocoder. lol........just kiddin. Super!!!!!Studio One grow up!
Hey Gregor, love that synth patch. What is it?
Hi Chuck, thanks so much! I made the synth patch using Studio One's native Virtual Analog Synthesizer, Mai Tai. -GBY
It would be good if the pitch bend for the audio track was included in the automation, and also the start stop tape
Thanks Gregor! BTW what kind of video switcher is that?
Please tell me where to buy the same sweater?)
I Cant find the vocoder. I have studio one 6 artist, is the vocoder included in the artist Version?
Nice, but I can't get it to work with a live midi keyboard playing, only post production with a midi chord clip. Ils there something wrong with midi keyboard live triggering the vocoder ?
This is exciting tool❤
I just like the cat sweater. 😂❤
Is the vocoder only til version 6? I have studio one 5 and seems I dont have it?
How can i get an Audio input into Maschine vst so that i can sample. the sample one vst has an audio input but no other vst has this input option?
Would be nice if you could just send midi information from an instrument track to the internal carrier.
I bought StudioOne 6 professional and I find out via this video that I have a Vocoder 🤯
Nice sweater! That cat is amazing at making everyone upset LMAO!
Good video too! Merry Christmas or whatever you do!
I want to use the vocoder to make a synth use vocals to play midi but it doesnt switch to external. So i will have to play notes and then sidechain. Hopefully Presonus will change that in the next update.
YaY the cat's back!!

hey what camera do you use
I welcome you, please make a full screen program like Ableton, fl studio bulet very nice to work with your program☺️
Hi Mike, you can run Studio One in full screen mode already. There’s a dedicated keyboard shortcut with the same name to toggle this. -GBY

When will studio one offer Dolby atmos?
Nice

I love Kraftwerk!
INTERGALACTIC PLANETARY PLANETARY INTERGALACTIC!! *BOOM TSS!!*
Was not planning on upgrading to 6…but now I don’t know…I might just have to lol
Thanks for the Input. Please more in German.
Good one !!
And does it work with the keyboard controler?
The young man stept into the hall of mirrors where he discovered the reflection of himself.
That's the most cryptic comment I've read today. Well done! -GBY
How much cost such PreSonus vocoder?
Hi, the Vocoder is a free addition in Studio One 6 Professional and higher. -GBY
Thank you for this information. 🙏
GREGORNAUTS on a cat hunt!
Why are you wearing that sweater, and what have you done with Henning?
I asked myself a similar question. But I actually like the sweater.
the midi track is not sidechain
i think only audio track can be sidechain
"I need a unit to sample and hold."
Not very useful for the guitar based rock band music that I do, but never say never! It could be wild on anything.
What's with the sweater?! Can't even look at you...
As you reduce your german accent, you charm and charisma are reduced as well.
Mi friend , this is LIKE a Vocoder.
A vocoder is something that you can usa in real time. Not this,

This video is almost useless unless you are using studio one - I tired it, and I didn't like it.
