Sweet restoration job. On the tabs, once you get them over a little bit take your needle nose pliers and push them down by laying them down on top of the tab and push them down, works really good that way.

Nice restoration, had one of those in 1969. However it was blue.

Nice job. I'm restoring one of these vans and a dune buggy that were mine when I was a kid. I'm going to give them to my grandson for his first birthday. I broke the inner wheels on the dune buggy taking it apart. I'll try gluing them as you did. Thanks.

Hi Jon. you are on the right track but what gets subscribers and likes and word spread about your channel is showing what your doing. talking about what your going to do
and not showing how you do it will choke your ability to create a great channel for and your subscribers.
I hope I have helped as I do not like to criticize anyone with courage enough to put themselves in the public space.

Thank you for the advice! I am trying to show more of the process in my newer videos now that I have better filming equipment. I'm also excited to upload some of my newer videos I have ready that include time lapses to show the process while keeping the video from being to long and voiceover to avoid all the background noises. I hope you enjoy!

y'all should check your brain for tumors on eye nerves.. what do you mean excellent job?!! this is very sloppy work.. compared to few others here, who restore tonka toys this is undilligent!! the plastic insides are left rusty on the bottom side, the wheel discs as well the tires are left without care and as for paint of the main hull, where in the lords name is filler, where's wet sanding and other finishing moves huh??.. If anything I'd say that it's a decent result for a beginner.. but not an excellent work or a sweet job.. to overpraise someone means to lower the standards..

It was my first Tonka restoration and my intention was to encourage others that you can make one of these look a whole lot nicer with just a little work. I like leaving some of the pits from the rust on these since it leaves some character in my opinion. I just do this for fun so cleaning up parts in unseen areas is unnecessary to me. All I really care is that I saved this old toy from the trash and made it look a little nicer. I guess I'll try to do a little better if I do another one.

@@jonanonymous33 i personally don't have anything towards your work.. I may be lil' too perfectionistic due to my own field of work and also thanks to being a bit spoiled by chip restorations and his tonka collection. I just don't exactly like when people exaggerate in their comments just cuz they can't do the same.. I mean one thing is to appreciate one's abilities and work and other is to just throw praise everywhere so as not to hurt anybody's feelings in fear of discouraging someone from doing anything.. right?!.. I may sound stuck up, mean and arrogant but i genuinely believe what i wrote is true..
