I had the pleasure of playing a Cort G300 recently and was shocked by how good it was. They are super-versatile, have great tones, and a really reliable tremolo.
Cort makes the PRS SE guitars… ‘nuff said. I own an amazing Zenox Custom 1 that l found in a music store some years ago, l was just following a friend of mine who was looking for a new gutar for himself, never heard of the Cort brand before l saw this particular one standing alone in the store’s ampli section… after one hour l came out of the store with her under my arm. And l’m still in love with her…
The guitar is cool...but dang. I'm just proud of you for being a kick ass player. There are many people demoing gear, but you actually made me smile and laugh by how killer your playing is (and I've been playing for a looooooooong time!). Rock on, Cameron.
@@Anon-21j I’ve had more Ibanez guitars than I’d like to admit so I was very used to that super thin wizard neck profile but I have to say, adjusting to the 12-16” compound radius of the Cort G300 was a very easy transition. I rarely play anything else now and going to something thinner like a wizard is a bit weird for me now.

Cort makes a lot of your guitars like the fender squier classic vibe. I'm not sure what others they make but I know a lot of Indonesian guitars come out of the Cort factory.

Can't believe how far Cort has come. I remember the red Cort fender I had way back when that thing was built so tough it was like a tank you couldn't hurt it. lol
I've been thinking about buying a g300 raw for the last couple of months now so that my Les Paul doesn't feel lonely, the more tests I watch the more I want one, haha :) Cort makes amazing guitars, this particular one has it all. The quality is spotless as I hear, the sound is amazing, and all that for a price that would have been reasonable about 15 years ago for a more popular brands similar quality model :) Cort as a brand is criminally underrated indeed.
I have a cort bass for some 20 years now. Even then they were amazing quality for money. They have come a long way since then and the new guitars are mind blowing
I have a cort m600t and it's fantastic, i don t miss my Gibson les paul with that. I'm planning to by the g300: i was sure already about the quality of this guitar, but thank you Cameron, you are the only one who did a very accurate review of it:)
I agree with you. Cort has a great price/performance ratio. I also have a Cort bass. They are good too. I've been thinking about buying a Cort Fat G290 for a long time. Maybe you will test it sometime.
very nice guitar eh, my only quibble would be i would have to get a push pull installed to split the humbuckers seperately, i prefer twin humbucker guitars to have 3 humbucking sounds and 3 single coil sounds with a push pull and a 3 way switch, that covers all my bases.
Really great review. Outside of the tremolo (no FR) how does this compare to the Wolfgang Specials, I saw you review a lot of EVH guitars and you make them sound like Eddie himself. The JB in the bridge won't sound exactly the same as EVH pickups but does the mahogany body/neck effect anything? I've been tossing up between this model, Charvel DK24 and Ibanez AZ. This model is half the price in my country. By the way, that wide stretch lick thing you did was ridiculous.
Nuce review again.... Bought it but sent it back. The trems 6th string block's corner hurt my palm, frets were uneven inserted causing buzz and made my fretrocker dizzy and the nut was cut deep on 2 string and had extremely sharp corners. But the sound and neck by itself were as good as you describe. But i have now returned to my (8) Eart guitars especially my heavily modded $120 SSS model... but all of them are really well build... Actually i never had an indonesian guitar without uneven frets... . Just bad luck i guess
My second bass was a cort artisan a4. Thats now 15 years ago. They had a really bad Reputation especially for what happened in indonesa. But oh man this bass is bonkers. I slapped the shit out of it and i only adjusted the trussrod once maybe 8 years ago. Its a fantastic Instrument and affordable for 900-1000.
Hey, how’s it going brother Cooper! First off I absolutely love your channel and love you’re playing, it’s soooo Friggin clean. I feel like I’m at a fork in the road ‘cuz, I feel like I try and try but I feel like there’s a disconnection between my brain and hands. I feel that no matter how much I try but it feels like my fretting hand has hit a brick wall. I get but so far with speed and then BAAM! I don’t get any faster. I’m not trying to go Malmsteen fast, just fast enough to play your typical hair Band lick. Like most of the licks you play. It kinda feels like my brain stutters as an as I start a lick. I can almost NEVER play a lick from start to finish. I start with the first 2 or 3 notes then I pause and start over. I’m so frustrated. I sometimes feel like maybe Guitar isn’t my instrument. I also play Bass and Drums. I’m no Matt Sorum but I can hold a beat Anna I can play a few LAMB OF GOD songs. What can I do?
yeh, its the name brand. if they had a sister company with a 'cooler' sounding name and people didn't make the connection that its just a Cort. They would be the new fan boi brand
This guitar looks good and fancy. It is like poor man's Suhr Modern or Ibanez AZ. Ahem, I meant to say "value product". Not sure about mahagony neck though, but I guess they made it right. I got old Ibanez RG321 and as far as I know, it's made by Cort. It has better quality than other more expensive Ibanez guitars I had. Also CorTek pots and switch were better than CTS pot and Schaller megaswitch I later installed on this guitar. No joke whatsoever, just cannot lie to myself. I love Schaller Megaswitch and the tone options I get, but sometimes it might just stuck between positions (and I either get no sound from guitar, or in one weird place I get single-coil sound which shouldn't be there by design), while stock CorTek switch never had such issue, it just never stuck between positions. CTS pot became scratchy in a couple of years while stock CorTek pot was doing fine for like 10+ years.
Literally the logo people dont like I think, guitars are brilliant, my guitar teacher ben travers has a load of vids on here with his g254 modded with emg’s. Sounds awesome. I had the same guitar.
Hard to say really. I play the Harley Benton more because of the Dimarzio pickups that I had installed in it and its in a different tuning. The Cort G300 is amazing too!! Such a solid guitar that's very easy to overlook.
That would take away from the video and it would disappoint a lot of people because there's very little that goes into my sound. I use a Blackstar AMPED 3
There are not many tremolo abuse videos for this guitar. In fact, I couldn't find a single one. Could you please make one using this guitar? maybe compare it to similarly priced 2 point trem guitars?
The reason why you don't see tremolo abuse videos with this guitar is simply because it's not designed to do that. Plus I don't use the bar much except for subtle stuff with this particular guitar. I won't be making a video about tremolo abuse with this this guitar. If you want a guitar solely to do crazy stuff with the bar, get a guitar with a Floyd Rose.

Don't you think I tried that? I have a couple of guitars with luminlays I know how they work and that you have to charge them with bright light. But these weren't doing anything

What are we comparing, feel, sound looks? They're both designed to do basically the same thing. I prefer the bigger frets on the Cort. The Charvels wins for me by a narrow margin.
@@zenona_67lovers I prefer the neck profile on the Charvel and the better hardware. A Charvel will hold it's value better too. But as far as functionality and sonic capability is concerned, they're basically the same. It simply comes down to what would suit your situation the best/
The Cort feels more like raw wood and has less finish whereas the Harley Benton is smoother. Both feel great! Given the way I play the difference to me is negligible

Cort may not sound like an over-the-top "sexy" brand, but the Cort factories manufacture (among others), Ibanez, Schecter, LTD by ESP, G&L, Squier and Strandberg guitars. Enough said.

I don't really know how to answer that. What's the best for me might not be the best for you as a player. For me, my needs are simple since I don't use a whammy bar much. To me, they all do their job equally well. In some respects a brand like Charvel depsite me loving their guitars dearly, they are slightly behind Cort and Harley Benton because of the lack of stainless steel frets for example. What are you looking for? narrow it down for me...
Hi Cameron, sorry for my delay. Well, what i'm looking for is basically a strat style guitar with a good whammy bar and possibly 24 simple axcess frets..wich allows to play everything, from metal to pop. I' ve been checking also the cort x 700, and a sterling jp..
I think they have made a mistake by bumping up their prices. They should always be "the one trustable brand" to give us affordable high quality instruments like they always used to.
They still do. They're just upping their game to suit customers that want something a little higher spec'd. Not a bad thing if you asked me, I was blown away by how good these Corts are.
Core makes all the Schecters and did the Ibanez I believe.. They aren't newcomers whatsoever.. The guitar really rocks and seem of profesional quality level.. The main issue with them has to do with ethics when it comes to employee welfare and treatment.. Pretty horrible stories.. Hopefully, they cleaned up their act..
Another Charvel by Cort, uh?! I'd rather pick up an ESP even if I'm not spanish, I'm pretty tired of that second hand Hong Kong made at night thing. Namastè.
I got the G300 pro last year and to this day I can’t believe how good these are. Not just “for the price”. I’m not sure the frets are jumbo, just medium-jumbo. The neck is fairly thick, I would say almost a deep C but… it feels a joy to play. Underrated? 100%
Cort's own guitars are underrated. Not the other brands they happen to make. A lot of people play Cort manufactured guitars and probably don't even realise it

I bought a Cort M200 back in early 2012 that I still have.
I just got this exact guitar a few weeks ago and have to say it’s absolutely amazing. Best bang for your buck hands down.

Some guitars have brilliant inlays that genuinely glow. I think simply depends on how radioactive the chosen material is

How is bending on high E string??can you bend atleast 3 step??? In my guitar it is very hard bending on high E string
Depends on what string guage you use. Bending is pretty easy on this guitar

If a guitar is made in Indonesia mostly its made by cort they made ibanez and other guitar brand.
Yeah, they make a lot of notable brands.
I think they have made a mistake by bumping up their prices. They should always be "the one trustable brand" to give us affordable high quality instruments like they always used to.
They still do. They're just upping their game to suit customers that want something a little higher spec'd. Not a bad thing if you asked me, I was blown away by how good these Corts are.
Core makes all the Schecters and did the Ibanez I believe.. They aren't newcomers whatsoever.. The guitar really rocks and seem of profesional quality level.. The main issue with them has to do with ethics when it comes to employee welfare and treatment.. Pretty horrible stories.. Hopefully, they cleaned up their act..
Cort is the biggest manufactor of guitars in the world....

I got the G300 pro last year and to this day I can’t believe how good these are. Not just “for the price”.
I’m not sure the frets are jumbo, just medium-jumbo. The neck is fairly thick, I would say almost a deep C but… it feels a joy to play.
Underrated? 100%
the only thing I do not like in this guitar is the body shape.....too old fashion
how is Cort underrated they build Ibanez there not underrated and they built my dean avalanche 7 when they were in Korea they are in Indonesia now
Cort's own guitars are underrated. Not the other brands they happen to make. A lot of people play Cort manufactured guitars and probably don't even realise it
@@CameronCooper true but if you buy a import it's coming from the big 3 unless Chinese. The big 3 are Cort , Sammick , and World music instrument Corp . I want to know who is manufacturing out of India I've got a indian Dean and it is well built even has big pots

Well, playability is player ability which is the same on both guitars. It all comes down to preferences really and the Charvel wins on that one.
I knew the first time I saw this guitar it was Cort best effort to date.Under 1200$.
