I run a hamilton 213 jet with 3.4 kw impeller coupled to a marine power 5.7 mpi engine ( 325 hp).... being that a new 213 impeller is now 3500-3700 dollars would it make more sense just to pull my shafts ( I run twins) and have them turned down so I could run the less expensive 212 impellers....
I’ve got a LQ4 6liter and a 2.4 currently. I can spin it out pretty easily. Would you go a 2.9 or 3.4? A fast boat is not as important as quick out of the water
Are you certain of this in the very broad sense? The method I worked with 20 years ago wouldn't be described strictly as machine learning. Instead it would be better described as a Newton-Raphson iteration process (I forget the exact terminology) that identifies minimums and/or maximums across a field of possibilities. Got a 773 in a 2000lb 19 degree with 260hp, 30knots at 3500rpm and won’t rev part that, been told to go a finer impeller, hard to find knowledge on the subject tho
I don't know the 773 specifically, but generally, selecting an impeller that puts you around 4200 RPM is roughly a good starting point. Maybe find a chart of hp absorbed versus RPM for several impellers? I know such a chart exists for Berkeley, but don't know about the 773. These charts aren't so good for comparison to supposed engine hp, but they are good for comparison between impellers.
@@idahoviking thanks for your input 👍👍, have contacted a local supplier/technician, he suggested a finer pitch impeller set would be the starting point, as nozzle size should be fine as standard, sure is a high physics and engineering this pass time 😔

Cfd still doesn’t do machine learning as you described. You have to shape the pump and the impeller your self. It can do an rpm sweep at most
