A very interesting demonstration. I would like to see what happens when the oversize impeller is operated in the opposite direction. i.e. Up-flow, rather than down-flow

Thank you for very useful video! But what's about liquid emulsions? Or about solid particles that are less dense, than water medium?

Yess I have the same doubt ! The density of the liquid being handled could have been a parameter to determine this ratio as well .

For liquid emulsions and foam use a sawtooth (Cowles type)

Why are they placed with different distance to the floor? I mean, if you shuv number 1 down at the same level as number 4, wouldnt that affect the results dramatically?

    • @aurorabacciolo6453

No because hydrofoil is slightly affected by the clearance

    very interesting,
for the tip speed of :
    ex.1 : 4.08 m/s
    ex.2 : 2.9 m/s
    ex.3 : 2.2 m/s
    ex.4 : 4.7 m/s
that's mean the relation of D/d is important for solid suspension while the tip speed is important too..

Could you explain how did you get the power draw? Speed x Diameter, ejm. 73mm x 1070 rpm = 3.71 W ?

    • @aurorabacciolo6453

You can calculate P as power number(for hydrofoil is 0.3)*rotational speed^3*diameter^5*density of fluid

Distances of impellers from bottom must be considered

There is a large impeller spacing from reactor bottom..

I'm sure the liquid is just water and the particles are plastic only slightly heavier than water. For a similar demonstration, I bought plastic pearls that are sold in toy shops.

Whats the effects if Tank is a Square Plan Shape (Instead of Circular)

Fillets of material will build up in the corners. Circular tanks are preferred when possible.

Sir what about the density of liquid? Doesn't it affect the ratio as well ?
