Peter Doyle did truly have an amazing vocal range and how cruel that he developed throat cancer. God bless you Peter - you were one of my favourite singers of the early 70s!
The New Seekers were a brilliant group. They could all sing and harmonise & those of us of a certain age will remember the good old days when we were young & foolish. 👍👍
I was a kid back in 1972.. My folks and I were camping on Martha's Vineyard.. And one day, we went to a park were these people were practicing for that 's night open air festivities.. It was this very song they sang.. To be that kid and back to a simpler time..
Those five voices make great harmonies. Here in the 21st century they've become one of my favourite pop groups. I remember them from 'back in the day' bu thanks to modern technology we can enjoy them again.
My first childhood crush, Eve Graham. Loved this group, joined their fan club and saw them in concert twice. They're don't make 'em like this anymore, beautiful harmonies, it was never the same after Peter Doyle leaving.
My Heart ❤️ will forever belong to Lynn PAUL 💙 ❤️. She's the epitome of the 1970s WOMEN whom I greatly adore and miss so much in 2022. If only I could return to 1973 + , thank you Lord .❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧
I had a huge crush on Pete Doyle! But he was an item with Lyn Paul and I was 12! Haha. The first band I ever saw live, They were playing Brum Odéon and my mom got tickets for my birthday. She took me to Lyons Corner House over the road (Gods, how old am I?) and we were upstairs so we coud see the side entrance to the Odéon. We saw 2 big black cars pull up and the band get out. My mom said "You were so excited!" Then I discovered Hawkwind and it was bye bye New Seekers and Mr Doyle, hello Lemmy! Strangely my mother never took me to Hawkwind gigs or bought me tea beforehand!
Modern groups should watch this the voices and harmanys live are so good no screeching or yelling, and no near naked bodies on display, if you're got talent you dont need to.
Eautiful song I have only really got to know the New Seekers over the last 6 years. Although I met Peter Doyle when he was in The GO!!SHOW Melbourne pop show in '65. Always liked him so now with the internet been able to see all these great videos and get to love their music. I've been collecting their albums too. And through Facebook met some wonderful friends from UK USA I was also fortunately able to see Peter Doyle perform live in Melbourne again 1987 - 1998.
These songs and their performance are so sincerely presented that it suspends all the cynical grime of these 'modern' times. Thank you for the music...Consider yourself subscribed!
Marvellous song choices in the army years of the group's greatest success. I know they were w constructed group by a management business but the entertainment that the partnership produced..still sound fantastic to me
thank you for posting this song, when i was a small girl this used to be my favourite song it then took on a different meaning as it was in the charts at the same time as the BA air crash at staines and i live very close to heathrow near where it happend, every time i hear it now i think of those people who died that day and dedicate it to there memory xx
This is a first for me. I'm exploring all the different tunes. Harmony, nicely dressed women, all in all clean music. Women not caked in war paint-all a big "YES."
The 'New Seekers' re-invention worked. They deserved the success they achieved. Judith Durham was always going to be a hard act to follow but both Lyn & Eve were great on lead vocals.
Just got out of hospital for the second time 1972 and sat with Eva and Mari and Inga Maria and Tracey parks wondering when my next seizure will be from anaphylaxis and chemical drug and medication allergies! I did a real to reel recording of this song. Age 3.
Superb. This album contained a cardboard Albert Hall stage that you could set up for no obvious purpose other than to keep you quiet for half an hour. An early Seventies childhood was largely characterised by cardboard cutout 'Fold Tab A through Slot C and attach to Part D with a drawing pin' type projects, typically on the back of cereal boxes.
chapin had a live album with a killer version as well- great song and this crew does it excellent..I have to pull THIS album out soon and listen to it all.
Beautiful girls and great group.marking of de 70,s,celestials voices and integrans professionals.youre are diplomatics of the peace in the world,forever...
What i don't get is why the New Seekers don't get radio play on Gold , Absolute 70s and My music radio ? they must be run by arse bandits or summat !!!

Those five voices make great harmonies.

Did not appreciate at the time how talented Eve Graham was, she is very underated
They really did have great productions with voices that blended perfectly. I like them much better now than I did at the time for some odd reason.

I waited 41 years to see this concert ... wow .... worth the wait? ... Yes
Eve graham is quite possibly perfect here, beautiful vocally and on the eye. Still gorgeous.
Couldn't have said it better myself.
Agreed, Eve and Sally Carr from Middle of the Road were 2 of my crushes when I was a young teen
I've learnt in life my life is a circle, what never ended comes around again to resolve, beautiful song very true and very real
Eve Graham has a great singing voice
What a wonderful performance by all five of them.
Marty Kristian knew how to rock his clothes. Wow! Just wow! He should have been a model.
Couldn’t agree more

They had some good songs and I used to fancy Eve when I was 12 she was very attractive. They all were tbh.
One of my favourite songs ever
Loved TNS since the 70s, They were a great group and Peter Doyle had the most amazing voice and vocal range.

I played that album until it was worn out! Marty Kristian knew how to dress! Fabulous.
I had Marty’s picture on my bedroom wall…..oh the memories
I am back again, love it.
R.I.P PETER DOYLE WERE MY IDOL AND THE NEW SEEKERS YOU HAD A AMZING PETER YOU AND LYN WERE MY FAVOURITES WITH EVE
This is a first for me. I'm exploring all the different tunes. Harmony, nicely dressed women, all in all clean music. Women not caked in war paint-all a big "YES."
always said she was lovely
I have this on vinyl and dvd..just brilliant
I love this song
Wow, BRILLIANT - better even the original I think, by Harry Chapin of course.
And Eve........glorious.
The 'New Seekers' re-invention worked.
They deserved the success they achieved.
Judith Durham was always going to be a hard act to follow but both Lyn & Eve were great on lead vocals.
diffent group, i think,
@@alangreenley3257 one member in common, at least early on... group was started by Keith Potger...
Just got out of hospital for the second time 1972 and sat with Eva and Mari and Inga Maria and Tracey parks wondering when my next seizure will be from anaphylaxis and chemical drug and medication allergies! I did a real to reel recording of this song. Age 3.
Very special song to our family
New seekers had a lot of good singles.

I remember that cardboard cut out too!
This still brings me real happiness!
I remember the cardboard stage as well, I still have the album... wish I had kept the cardboard stage safely...
Wonderful!
chapin had a live album with a killer version as well- great song and this crew does it excellent..I have to pull THIS album out soon and listen to it all.

Cute face and great looking
Great, but why are other songs disappearing from RUclips? Nickel Song and I'm a nut to name just two?
Just watch the 7" with headphones, wonderful at the beginning, when it turns left to right and vice versa.
I wonder where they're all now x
Peter returned to Australia, but died way too young from cancer.
A Harry Chapin song.
What i don't get is why the New Seekers don't get radio play on Gold , Absolute 70s and My music radio ? they must be run by arse bandits or summat !!!
agree.
Listen to Gold every day and they play more Rolling Stones than any other artist they don’t seem to play many’s songs like this
It is red Polydor
Yer man was no dozer on the bass,
Harry Chapin song.....
With hindsight, he probably regrets those fringed sleeves.
cricketbat09 in 1972 I had a fringe !! I was 12 , 47 years later all gone !😥😥
One of the best hits of the New seekers, Eve Graham is so strong, and sounds great on Lead Vocal. The Voice of the New Seekers.
yes I have a confession,i too had a schoolboy crush on eve graham L OL
Harry Chapin must be turning in his grave .
