I was 17 when this was played, remember the music and the happy times. Life was great and full of loving. Now I'm 67 and wondering if I can afford to put the heating on this winter ! All we have left are the memories of a far, far better time..
i used to live in Walthamstow in East London backing onto Lloyds Park, every year the fair would come an d I remember this being piped out of the speakers. Happy days as an eight year old urr
Anyone remember this song and the band and there other song I get a little sentimental over you, great song ,👌✌👍👍😘💖💏🌈as Mary Hopkins said those were the days my friend ,song's then were listenable and understood, great year the late 60s and 70s👍✌👌😘💖
Too true, a real shame that Peter Doyle is no longer with us, his contribution to the sucess of the group was huge, a unique voice. But there's still Lyn and Eve, Lyn's latest CD "Late Night" shows she just gets better and better - bring the originals back!!
I totally agree, Eve was the perfect woman, everything about her. They were a special group of people, once one left it just gradually feel apart. At least we have the memories. Their albums had some amazing songs and harmonies. One of the many gifts of being around back then, songs were written about love and life's adventures.Today they've all about sex and immediate gratification. I left Europe in 1985, the American music was corrupted at that stage.
I loved this song as a toddler age 2 and 3. I used to sing it all day long and drive my family mad 😂 and sing it at nursery school along with sing a rainbow and nursery rhimes.
marty and paul own the 'New Seekers' name and the band still plays gigs sometimes - with 2 new girl singers and one other boy. Eve Graham is a solo singer and lives in Scotland. Lyn Paul still sings, but has been in the West End in Blood Brothers. Sadly, Peter Doyle died in 2001 from throat cancer
All my life's a circle Sunrise and sundown The moon rose through the nighttime Till the day break comes around All my life's a circle But I can't tell you why The seasons spinning round again The years keep rolling by It seems like I've been here before I can't remember when But I've got this funny feeling That I'll be back once again There's no straight lines make up my life And all my roads have bends There?s no clear-cut beginnings And so far no dead-ends All my life's a circle Sunrise and sundown The moon rose through the nighttime Till the day break comes around All my life's a circle But I can't tell you why The seasons spinning round again The years keep rolling by I've found you a thousand times I guess you've done the same But then we lose each other It's just like a children's game And as I see you here again The thought runs through my mind Our love is like a circle Let's go round one more time All my life's a circle Sunrise and sundown The moon rose through the nighttime Till the day break comes around All my life's a circle And I can't tell you why The seasons spinning round again The years keep rolling by (Repeat chorus) (Repeat chorus) (Repeat chorus & fade)
@Cloughey: So I'm not the only one who thought life was much easier in the early '70s. (I was 10 years younger than you, but I've never forgotten that time.)
How time changes things - this was my favourite group of the time, they were succeeded by 'Fox', and now, (in my mid 50's) I think 'Trans Siberian Orchestra' are the greatest thing since sliced bread! Couldn't get much different really.....
Great to see this - first time since I saw the original TOTP in 1972. I thought the BBC had wiped all these shows ? Where did this come from ? Thanks for posting.
they didn't, they were 2 different bands. Keith Potger from The Seekers put the new band together. And while the original Seekers only had a limited repertoire, The New Seekers did ballads, country, rock, pop, folk. And the original Seekers only had one great vocalist (Judith), The New Seekers had 3 (Eve, Lyn & Peter)
Hi Sally. Four in fact. Don`t forget Marty Kristian! Great band. I stopped listening to them a long time ago but in recent years I`ve been playing them again. I always liked The New Seekers but I realise now I didn`t appreciate them enough back in the day. They were truly fabulous! Best wishes
They didn't, the Seekers vanished because Judith wanted to go solo, and Keith formed the new band. And while The Seekers had a typical 60s folk sound, The New Seekers were pop, country & a bit rocky, their success shows that the formula was right. And "talentless" is just a stupid remark.
Question. I didn't realize that the New Seekers performed this. (Hey, I was only 14 in '72.) Were they the first to have a hit with Circles, or did someone else beat them to it?
The Seekers (original) featuring Judith Durham vanished did they? Gee, I'm going to see them in concert at The State Theatre in Sydney next month, not bad for a "vanishing" act I'd say!!!
you maybe right, blondie always attract more attention, say Mary Hopkins,Deebie Harry etc, well, I have a deep impression of eve back in 1971-1972, in which eve attrats me more in those album, i always thought new seekers is such a waste. don't forget I'm a great fan of lyn too, I had her solo album back in 1974.You know ,comparison is cruel, they are all beautiful people. Tanks for your reply.
I was just listening to the studio version. I THINK they are actually singing. But why don't they just put their guitars down and sing. It looks kind of silly when you hear different instruments other than those that they are "playing". Do bands still do this today?
Wish they would get rid of the driftwood and bring back Eve, Lyn and Peter. I know Peter Doyle is no longer with us but Peter Oliver was a good replacement. Come on Gang reform and show this lot how it should be done!!!
The New Seekers had one good song, (teach the world to sing).... but, I never understood why the original band Seekers with all their great music turned their band into the talentless "New Seekers!!
I liked them both but I get where you are coming from. I love early Fleetwood Mac and Genesis but can't understand why both became more popular later on. Peter Green and Gabriel are much better than Stevie Nicks and Phil Collins in my opinion but the sales reveal different tastes.
I`m sure you could easily hear a lot worse without too much effort. In terms of getting paid they were by and large paid very little actually. Compared to the mega millions most (C)Rap `artists` get nowadays they were paid peanuts. Agreed on the original Seekers singer Judith Durham who had one of the best voices ever.
One of my favourite songs still. Love it. Takes me right back when life was so much easier
takes me back to my favourite year 1972, aged 14, when life was so much easier, and music so much better.
I was 10, but it was great.
Such a lovely song. Imagine there was just one song, of similar quality to this in the charts today. It would single handedly improve it ten fold.
My 11 yr self loved Marty , my walls were covered with his face
Oh he was so handsome!!! The puppy dog eyes and the smile.......swoons!

Let's go 'round one more time. 40-some years and it feels like yesterday.

Brings back happy memories of my first holiday in St Andrews in 1972
Rip peter Doyle, a great group from the seventies the new seekers loved them fond memories great times
Summer of 72, the years keep rolling by.
I was 17 when this was played, remember the music and the happy times. Life was great and full of loving. Now I'm 67 and wondering if I can afford to put the heating on this winter ! All we have left are the memories of a far, far better time..
But yet there were many who said the very same things back when Brooklyn lost the Dodgers and rock ‘n roll took over much of the music landscape.
Such an evoking song of great times. We were so blessed to have been brought up in the best era!
Beautiful song and brilliantly sung by the lovely Eve Graham. They don't make em like this any more
Forgot about this song, memories came flooding back.
I always think that Peter Doyle's singing makes the difference so many of the New Seeker's best songs. When he left they were more or less finished.
What a Voice Peter Doyle (dec)
Great singers never die
OMG Marty Kristian was absolutely gorrrrrgeous
I know, my sister had a big crush on him.🥰👱♂️👱♀️
This great song written by Harry Chapin is still timely.

Anyone remember this song and the band and there other song I get a little sentimental over you, great song ,👌✌👍👍😘💖💏🌈as Mary Hopkins said those were the days my friend ,song's then were listenable and understood, great year the late 60s and 70s👍✌👌😘💖
I really like `I Get a Little Sentimental` as well it`s a fantastic pop song!
Nothing beats the original line-up !
Haven't heard this song for years and years!!
Too true, a real shame that Peter Doyle is no longer with us, his contribution to the sucess of the group was huge, a unique voice. But there's still Lyn and Eve, Lyn's latest CD "Late Night" shows she just gets better and better - bring the originals back!!
Summer of 72 wow.

Despite the rubbish being spouted on the comments, I still adore this song!! :) Thanks so much for posting x
Eve Graham was the best looking woman in 70's music!!!
LYN PAUL will always be my favourite!
Definitely my favourite NS song 🙂
I loved this song as a toddler age 2 and 3. I used to sing it all day long and drive my family mad 😂 and sing it at nursery school along with sing a rainbow and nursery rhimes.
i loved the new seekers i tried to learn this on piano when i was about 10/11 did nt quite master it tho great to see again thank you
marty and paul own the 'New Seekers' name and the band still plays gigs sometimes - with 2 new girl singers and one other boy. Eve Graham is a solo singer and lives in Scotland. Lyn Paul still sings, but has been in the West End in Blood Brothers. Sadly, Peter Doyle died in 2001 from throat cancer

All my life's a circle
Sunrise and sundown
The moon rose through the nighttime
Till the day break comes around
All my life's a circle
But I can't tell you why
The seasons spinning round again
The years keep rolling by
It seems like I've been here before
I can't remember when
But I've got this funny feeling
That I'll be back once again
There's no straight lines make up my life
And all my roads have bends
There?s no clear-cut beginnings
And so far no dead-ends
All my life's a circle
Sunrise and sundown
The moon rose through the nighttime
Till the day break comes around
All my life's a circle
But I can't tell you why
The seasons spinning round again
The years keep rolling by
I've found you a thousand times
I guess you've done the same
But then we lose each other
It's just like a children's game
And as I see you here again
The thought runs through my mind
Our love is like a circle
Let's go round one more time
All my life's a circle
Sunrise and sundown
The moon rose through the nighttime
Till the day break comes around
All my life's a circle
And I can't tell you why
The seasons spinning round again
The years keep rolling by
(Repeat chorus)
(Repeat chorus)
(Repeat chorus & fade)

I have forgotten this song, but jeeses, what a wake up!!!! Sorry,my english is not so good, i hope you understand what i mean? I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
@Cloughey: So I'm not the only one who thought life was much easier in the early '70s. (I was 10 years younger than you, but I've never forgotten that time.)
Still good to listen to.
Both bands were good, but I always prefered The New Seekers, they were my childhood Top Pop Stars !
Eternal Return!
Eve has always been my girl, love you!
My dad liked her .. and Pan's People!👩👱♀️👩🦰💃👯♀️
Esta buena canción la cantaron y la publicaron THE NEW SEEKERS en el año 1972
I have great pics with them in 1973 and 1974, do u remember them then?
Agreed -shame its so muffled -or is it me failing ears -gawd blessus! Christ...so many memories.
rather energetic dancing for such a song....
Haha yes I noticed that lol!
I've got this on cd but also on a cheap compliation album called Top of the Pops Vo, 25.
But i prefer this version LOL.
what a time that was.....!! where are they now...?
I love this song, the version on the Elektra 45 at least. This version here is fairly faithful to it, which is good ...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Good old Ed 'stewpot' Stewart.

love the seakers, particularly lyn paul my first school boy crush, what a voice and what a girl xx
Eve Graham - cudo

thx.....jp
Great song , what were the audience dancing to ?
Question.
I didn't realize that the New Seekers performed this. (Hey, I was only 14 in '72.)
Were they the first to have a hit with Circles, or did someone else beat them to it?
Eve was definetely prettier tnan Lyn at that time,I love Lyn too.
Eve graham way passed 79
The Seekers (original) featuring Judith Durham vanished did they? Gee, I'm going to see them in concert at The State Theatre in Sydney next month, not bad for a "vanishing" act I'd say!!!

Great to see this, but why b/w?
I would say the old seekers were very much better than the new seekers.
Do you realise how bad I feel right now I love but hate you so much midnight last chance
im 42 now.. you guys must be older than me
coz i dont remember this song.
The New Seekers were `a bit rocky`, compared to the `Old` Seekers they were practically heavy metal.
Ha lol! Yes they did have a few rockier tracks which I think suits them as Peter Doyle had a great `Rock` voice!
Sounds a little like Seals & Crofts and a little like Sears & Roebuck...
I was just listening to the studio version. I THINK they are actually singing. But why don't they just put their guitars down and sing. It looks kind of silly when you hear different instruments other than those that they are "playing".

@ronniesbfan ...eve prittier than lyn!....wish youd have been my mate as a young man on the pull, no contest mate lyn was a real beauty...
The New Seekers had one good song, (teach the world to sing).... but, I never understood why the original band Seekers with all their great music turned their band into the talentless "New Seekers!!
Tommie oarch new seekers were great twat
Yeah but just the bass player - none of the vocalists - and it shows :(
o.k. Sally....less-talented...lol..
Evil, evil music.
Did you mean to leave this comment on a Rap or Grime music (ahem)video but it landed here by mistake?
this band is one of the worst i ever heard, and they got paid 4 th is? the original seekers georgia girl was good
I liked them both but I get where you are coming from. I love early Fleetwood Mac and Genesis but can't understand why both became more popular later on. Peter Green and Gabriel are much better than Stevie Nicks and Phil Collins in my opinion but the sales reveal different tastes.
