Starfield literally just came out, we got at the very LEAST 3 years, and realistically, at least 5 years. Hopefully you're not a fan of Game of Thrones, because we've been even longer since the last book, and there's still years left til it's finished, and another book after, which will never be finished because the writer is old as dirt. Be happy that Elder Scrolls will continue far beyond Todd being around.

I think it’s time for X-box to either spin up an internal fallout studio or to hand it to another internal studio to do at least a spin off because their just letting the franchise go to waste by not having something in currently in development to meet the demand.
Exactly we don't have to necessarily have a "Fallout 5" for now if that's going to take so long to make, we could just have like a dlc sequel to fallout 4 kind of thing, possibly made by a different company to save resources and development time.

Honestly, I agree. I love the moral meter Systems in video games. It was entertaining in Mass Effect and the Fallout games. Plus, it was pretty cool how your good/evil decisions affect how your character looks and how other NPC‘s react to you.

@shaunrye7740 I dont even want karma back in Fallout period, but this especially no. However I would love something like this being worked into a faith system in ES6. Like if you gain a lot of affinity with certain daedric princes it may start to affect your appearance.
I'd rather have skills and traits back. I never understood the karma system. Why am I losing karma for taking supplies from Powder Gangers that just attacked me?

It's true. I want Fallout 5 more than TES 6 but at the same time, it's insane that a game as huge as Skyrim hasn't had a sequel in 13 years.
I hate to say it but I feel like elder scrolls might be a dead franchise. Seems like no one, including Bethesda and Xbox really cares about it. Sure they say they’re making “elder scrolls 6” but who really knows. I won’t believe it until I see raw gameplay. If you don’t like like ESO then as an elder scrolls fan. You’re out of luck.
ES6 is releasing before Fallout 5 tho. We still wont see it until like 2028-2030 though. They still are making DLC for shit-field. Surprised that the first one isn't out already though tbh.

You didn't touch on the best part, Todd's initial reaction to scriptwriters wanting to nuke Shady Sands. There were plenty of signs that the NCR would fall sooner or later, but to destroy such an iconic and important location in the world of Fallout just so that the plot twist hits harder? Even Todd went "you wanna do WHAT!?".
I know it will never happen but my dream would be Larian Studios making a top down BG3 style Fallout game what a game that would be

Wasn’t it already leaked that three was getting one?…. For those not in the know one of the famous Bethesda leakers who correctly stated information on fallout 76 and starfield years in advanced stated that a remake of three was going to come out in a couple years.
I think you misheard him Matt. Tom only confirmed that the “fall of Shady sands” didn’t have to be the nuke. There was a fall and then there was a nuke. And this resolves the timeline issue. But no doubt there was a nuke
My Fallout obsession is on a whole new level. Replaying New Vegas makes you realize how timeless that game truly is.
New Vegas has my favorite mod for a game too : New Vegas Bounties. That mod rivals the official DLCs.

Fallout 5 is definitely at least 7+ Years away, meanwhile there are these other two studios named Obsidian and Inexile just sitting there.
Obsidian is a massive L right now. Outer Worlds was a painfully mid game and was woefully uninspired

Bethesda is still salty about how well New Vegas did they could let them remake 3 or new vegas and not sit on one of the most loved gaming IP's ever if we are waiting another 5-10 years for a fallout it would mean almost two decades since number 4.
I kinda wished we got a scene between the Ghoul and Moldaver considering she was the one who got him to find out that Vault Tec was secretly plotting to nuke the country

That could work. I suspect that guy was Enclave. Despite being at the core of the story of season one, they aren't really explored beyond the scientist who stole the cold fusion. They may have revealed Vault-Tec was ultimately responsible for instigating the war, but the Enclave knew what was coming since they abandoned D.C. before the bombs dropped. The mystery man representing the Enclave at that meeting would make sense, IMO.
Ron Perlman is old. Getting older. Born in 1950. Hope he gets to do a cameo in Fallout TV series. Fallout 5 will come out in or about 2030, or sooner. Since the TV series is doing great, this might be the trigger to move things forward faster. With a popular TV show to their credit, a new Fallout game would do even better than FO 4. Ron Perlman should show up as the MYSTERIOUS STRANGER on the TV show.

He didn't find the vault? Lucy's vault is super out of the way from civilised lands and no. 4 is intentionally secret.
Honestly, I think the success of the show in terms of the quality of the season and praise it's gotten and sales of all the games completely caught BGS, XBOX, and Microsoft off guard and now they're probably really starting to reevaluate their stance on what and how to approach Fallout as a franchise in terms of games. Yeah 76 is getting the new expansion (and it fucking rocks) but everyone would drop EVERYTHING for a new Fallout game, especially if Obsidian went along with it. Give Todd his Exc Producer status on the game and we're golden.
Why can Obsidian work on 3 RPGs at the same time but Bethesda can't do 2? Does Todd Howard actually have to direct every game? Obsidian is doing Avowed, The Outer Worlds, and another unannounced game all at the same time. Avowed will probably get more game nominations than Starfield..

Last I heard Obsidian had 280 employees while Bethesda has 450.. I think Bethesda could do more with less if they simply switched to Unreal Engine.
Bethesda will be left behind because now you have Obsidian, CDPR, InXile, Bioware, all using Unreal Engine 5 with crazy technology while Bethesda stays with a broken old engine that will cost at least 100 million to upgrade to next gen. Just think about this, they spent all this time for Creation Engine 2.0 for ONE game because the engine will be OUTDATED for The Elder Scrolls 6 unless The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out this gen which i doubt.

Outer worlds were a terrible rpg so maybe if they focused on 1 game they might actually release a decent game post new vegas

Since bethesda is under zenimax id outsource it to probably tango gameworks if they are only allowed to pick groups from the inside. Or outsource it to some great talent studio thats currently pumping out great products.

Starfield needs the ability to modify melee weapons, more clothing options, more things to research, more enemy variety, and more space ship build pieces. And that is before Shattered Space.
It needs to be fun
It needs creations for consoles already, and its dlc. Everyone should boycott them cucks
Ship Building needs a MASSIVE overhaul to make it Good and Fun.
A partnership with Obsidian should happen NOW! Make it happen while the demand is at its highest.
The simple fact that Todd Howard had to address the timeline because people could not understand how to read a chalkboard is absurd. And some still refuse to accept it even with the evidence presented as canon.

Some people need their hand held and have everything explained to them in the absence of imagination or critical thinking.
Maybe if whoever wrote it had used the word "decline" instead of "fall" it would've caused less confusion. When somebody says the "fall" of something you assume it's quickly happened in that time frame.

As a melee Starfield player I am lacking lots of melee weapons for late game
Beyond a certain level it's quite impossible to play melee in Starfield. Not only is there a general lack of weapons, but there are no weapon tiers or mods like you get with guns. You can't even keybind unarmed, lol. They put in melee and unarmed perks, suggesting it's an intended playstyle, but then... nothing. It only works until like level 20. Amazing game design.
@@cassieudy5718 I agree, I usually gravitate to melee in BGS games due to low eyesight, I needed to switch to particle beam shotguns due to said lack of melee weapons and mods to upgrade them for late game

I just downloaded Vegas and bought all the epic dlc to play through yet again after the show blew my mind! I’m so glad to have some excitement back for this franchise. Four and 76 just didn’t work for me, now I want London NOW! 😍

I took what he said as The fall of the NCR at Shady Sands started in 2077, but it doesn't necessarily mean it was/wasn't destroyed afterwards with a Nuke or Bomb. That's being saved for Season 2 for us to find out.
Starfield definitely needs more content. It has been six months. Todd we're dying over here.

My take for the end of season 1 was that this was just a group of the NCR either gone rough or on a mission pretty much like the NCR in New Vagus, right? That was just a large group of the greater NCR forces. But who knows, we'll have to wait until season 2 for more answers.

so with the shady sands, i think its he was talking about the fall of shady sands may not have been in line with the explosion, the fall could have been right after the events of FO:NV, but the explosion could have been years later. also, when lucy and max went to the exposion crater, there was no radiation from the geiger counter on the pipboy, so i dont think it was a nuke, probably just a massive bomb. thank you for your content.

Shady Sands looked like a precision strike and did NOT appear to have excessive radiation. I am thinking Satellite Laser strike. A weapon like IF not actually the Archimedes array from New Vegas.
Yea I don't know about the whole "Shady Sands wasn't nuked" part. Birdie, from vault 4, in the show says "Three days' walk from home and we could still feel the heat from the blast."

I was thinking when watching that shady sands can’t have been nuked, when they approach the site there’s no indication of radiation on Lucy’s pipboy. Could have been an oversight, but I don’t think it is because they’ve shown this in other areas of the show and seem to be pretty on the ball with stuff
Matty, another thing I think we should talk about is that it might not have been vault tec. For example, why are the Brotherhood on site MINUTES after the destruction happens? Could the brotherhood have been involved given their problems with the NCR? Questions questions…
I saw this and I believe what he was saying was that the nuke didn't drop on that date.
That it could be that that's when the city started falling.
And the nuke could have dropped later.
I hope in fallout 5 they put more priorities in the vaults, like make them very important. And you get to pick out of several different vault that you can start in.

Matty, just so you know. Fallout 3, Fallout NV and Oblivion are all on playstation plus, so there might not be strictly backwards compatibility in the PS5 but they worked around that with PS plus.

I think if they can they should make some references to the big events we as the player caused in the fallout games. That old lady in episode two was pretty venomous towards Vault Dwellers and seemed like there is a story there.
Look as much as I love a continuation to new Vegas which feels just as relevant as ever I feel that makes a NV2 on hiatus till fallout season 2 if that was even a concept that could be in the works

Wasn't it The Lonesome Road DLC for New Vegas that the player could nuke (or at least let it happen) the NCR? I remember having a choice ncr/salad land/ or blow it up there.
A remaster would be a MAJOR letdown. Real fans have played through the Fallout games so many times that having a sparkling new version of the SAME would be SAD. Please give us something NEW!
I really hope they have a settlement system in fallout 5, but upgraded.
Fewer settlements (Max 3) , more settlers (so you can go from one shack to ish city), tech/scavenging system to get more powerful with group expedition outside and/or inside map border (from nobody to powerhouse).
Maybe set a standard equipment to defenders and expedition group via table map.
And with the same table map you could layout your settlement like simsettlement mod.
Fewer power armor with fewer cores, maybe you could charge cores when your tech is high enough.
Just a thought, but it would be sick and awesome.
What if Hank wasn't the one who blew up shady sands, what if it was courier 6 or Ulysses, because at the end of Lonesome road DLC for FoNV, only some of the ICBMS strike the NCR outpost and/or the legion camp, some of them aren't accounted for and Ulysses doesn't elaborate/ know where the went or where they struck, though I could be wrong 🤔 if I am feel free to correct me

I doubt it would ever happen, but if Obsidian has the time and were willing, a New Vegas remaster with reimplemented cut content (and maybe the ability the play after the end) would be a dream come true

the fact its almost been 10 years since 4 came out and they are happy to wait almost another 5-10 is crazy for the Fallout IP, Bethesda have handled it so poorly without modders Fo4 would be a hot mess and dont get me started on 76.

Thank you for mentioning that the NV discourse isn't the general feeling of the show and the games! It seemed a bit blown out of proportion in the 'world of fallout' so to speak.

I think the implication is that weren't doing much of anything. "Chasing ghosts" (which I assume is what you're referring to) typically means looking for something that doesn't exist. The line is to indicate they were wasting resources and manpower for nothing, not that there is some super secret phantom threat out there.
