Starfield literally just came out, we got at the very LEAST 3 years, and realistically, at least 5 years. Hopefully you're not a fan of Game of Thrones, because we've been even longer since the last book, and there's still years left til it's finished, and another book after, which will never be finished because the writer is old as dirt. Be happy that Elder Scrolls will continue far beyond Todd being around.

I think it’s time for X-box to either spin up an internal fallout studio or to hand it to another internal studio to do at least a spin off because their just letting the franchise go to waste by not having something in currently in development to meet the demand.
Exactly we don't have to necessarily have a "Fallout 5" for now if that's going to take so long to make, we could just have like a dlc sequel to fallout 4 kind of thing, possibly made by a different company to save resources and development time.

Honestly, I agree. I love the moral meter Systems in video games. It was entertaining in Mass Effect and the Fallout games. Plus, it was pretty cool how your good/evil decisions affect how your character looks and how other NPC‘s react to you.

Wasn’t it already leaked that three was getting one?…. For those not in the know one of the famous Bethesda leakers who correctly stated information on fallout 76 and starfield years in advanced stated that a remake of three was going to come out in a couple years.

It's true. I want Fallout 5 more than TES 6 but at the same time, it's insane that a game as huge as Skyrim hasn't had a sequel in 13 years.
I hate to say it but I feel like elder scrolls might be a dead franchise. Seems like no one, including Bethesda and Xbox really cares about it. Sure they say they’re making “elder scrolls 6” but who really knows. I won’t believe it until I see raw gameplay. If you don’t like like ESO then as an elder scrolls fan. You’re out of luck.
ES6 is releasing before Fallout 5 tho. We still wont see it until like 2028-2030 though. They still are making DLC for shit-field. Surprised that the first one isn't out already though tbh.

Ron Perlman is old. Getting older. Born in 1950. Hope he gets to do a cameo in Fallout TV series. Fallout 5 will come out in or about 2030, or sooner. Since the TV series is doing great, this might be the trigger to move things forward faster. With a popular TV show to their credit, a new Fallout game would do even better than FO 4. Ron Perlman should show up as the MYSTERIOUS STRANGER on the TV show.

You didn't touch on the best part, Todd's initial reaction to scriptwriters wanting to nuke Shady Sands. There were plenty of signs that the NCR would fall sooner or later, but to destroy such an iconic and important location in the world of Fallout just so that the plot twist hits harder? Even Todd went "you wanna do WHAT!?".
The simple fact that Todd Howard had to address the timeline because people could not understand how to read a chalkboard is absurd. And some still refuse to accept it even with the evidence presented as canon.

Maybe if whoever wrote it had used the word "decline" instead of "fall" it would've caused less confusion. When somebody says the "fall" of something you assume it's quickly happened in that time frame.

Fallout 5 is definitely at least 7+ Years away, meanwhile there are these other two studios named Obsidian and Inexile just sitting there.
Obsidian is a massive L right now. Outer Worlds was a painfully mid game and was woefully uninspired

That could work. I suspect that guy was Enclave. Despite being at the core of the story of season one, they aren't really explored beyond the scientist who stole the cold fusion. They may have revealed Vault-Tec was ultimately responsible for instigating the war, but the Enclave knew what was coming since they abandoned D.C. before the bombs dropped. The mystery man representing the Enclave at that meeting would make sense, IMO.
This would never happen, but imagine Austin Butler playing The King in a New Vegas flashback in season 2 😂

Since bethesda is under zenimax id outsource it to probably tango gameworks if they are only allowed to pick groups from the inside. Or outsource it to some great talent studio thats currently pumping out great products.

Honestly, I think the success of the show in terms of the quality of the season and praise it's gotten and sales of all the games completely caught BGS, XBOX, and Microsoft off guard and now they're probably really starting to reevaluate their stance on what and how to approach Fallout as a franchise in terms of games. Yeah 76 is getting the new expansion (and it fucking rocks) but everyone would drop EVERYTHING for a new Fallout game, especially if Obsidian went along with it. Give Todd his Exc Producer status on the game and we're golden.
A partnership with Obsidian should happen NOW! Make it happen while the demand is at its highest.
I think you misheard him Matt. Tom only confirmed that the “fall of Shady sands” didn’t have to be the nuke. There was a fall and then there was a nuke. And this resolves the timeline issue. But no doubt there was a nuke
Starfield needs the ability to modify melee weapons, more clothing options, more things to research, more enemy variety, and more space ship build pieces. And that is before Shattered Space.
It needs creations for consoles already, and its dlc. Everyone should boycott them cucks

I just downloaded Vegas and bought all the epic dlc to play through yet again after the show blew my mind! I’m so glad to have some excitement back for this franchise. Four and 76 just didn’t work for me, now I want London NOW! 😍

Why can Obsidian work on 3 RPGs at the same time but Bethesda can't do 2? Does Todd Howard actually have to direct every game? Obsidian is doing Avowed, The Outer Worlds, and another unannounced game all at the same time. Avowed will probably get more game nominations than Starfield..

Last I heard Obsidian had 280 employees while Bethesda has 450.. I think Bethesda could do more with less if they simply switched to Unreal Engine.
Bethesda will be left behind because now you have Obsidian, CDPR, InXile, Bioware, all using Unreal Engine 5 with crazy technology while Bethesda stays with a broken old engine that will cost at least 100 million to upgrade to next gen. Just think about this, they spent all this time for Creation Engine 2.0 for ONE game because the engine will be OUTDATED for The Elder Scrolls 6 unless The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out this gen which i doubt.

As a melee Starfield player I am lacking lots of melee weapons for late game
Beyond a certain level it's quite impossible to play melee in Starfield. Not only is there a general lack of weapons, but there are no weapon tiers or mods like you get with guns. You can't even keybind unarmed, lol. They put in melee and unarmed perks, suggesting it's an intended playstyle, but then... nothing. It only works until like level 20. Amazing game design.
@@cassieudy5718 I agree, I usually gravitate to melee in BGS games due to low eyesight, I needed to switch to particle beam shotguns due to said lack of melee weapons and mods to upgrade them for late game

That's not true at all. The Boys and Invincible are huge franchises because of the Amazon adaptations. Hell, the Boys show is widely considered to be way better than the source material. Reacher and the Expanse seem to have massively boosted those franchises too.

I honestly don't see how the fandom is to blamed, if you hint that a major, universe changing event has or will happen and that one of the most revered games in the series is tampered with OF COURSE you're going to get backlash and hysteria, you can't just drop that a major faction and location be nuked and not expect some sort of significant response.
the fact its almost been 10 years since 4 came out and they are happy to wait almost another 5-10 is crazy for the Fallout IP, Bethesda have handled it so poorly without modders Fo4 would be a hot mess and dont get me started on 76.

I think it could be cool to have a XCOM type fallout game as something in between the release of 5. There could be alot of potential for that.

I hope in fallout 5 they put more priorities in the vaults, like make them very important. And you get to pick out of several different vault that you can start in.
Imo the Starfield setting didn't sit well with Bethesda's strength: exploration, mainly focused on walking and stumbling on stuff and on hand-crafted content. In oblivion and Skyrim, all NPCs had their own personalities and schedules. All buildings were explorable, etc. Massive scale of space doesn't allow that.
I really hope they have a settlement system in fallout 5, but upgraded.
Fewer settlements (Max 3) , more settlers (so you can go from one shack to ish city), tech/scavenging system to get more powerful with group expedition outside and/or inside map border (from nobody to powerhouse).
Maybe set a standard equipment to defenders and expedition group via table map.
And with the same table map you could layout your settlement like simsettlement mod.
Fewer power armor with fewer cores, maybe you could charge cores when your tech is high enough.
Just a thought, but it would be sick and awesome.

I think regardless of Bethesdas wishes Microsoft will force the IP onto a third party developer for a spin off entry.
I took what he said as The fall of the NCR at Shady Sands started in 2077, but it doesn't necessarily mean it was/wasn't destroyed afterwards with a Nuke or Bomb. That's being saved for Season 2 for us to find out.
It would be great if we could get a 'Fallout 4.5.' Something like New Vegas, where they use the Fallout 4's engine and assets to tell a new story in a new location. Fallout 76 has improved a lot, but it's still not the same as a full fledged single player RPG.

Man I think you need to be less anti-fan. I don’t know if you forgot but Avellone himself spoke on the West-East coast divide between Bethesda and Obsidian. "I never got the impression Bethesda was happy with FNV's reception (good and bad)," writes Avellone doesn’t scream good news as someone who very much enjoyed the Interplay/Obsidian Fallouts. It’s actually pretty relieving to hear Todd confirm he doesn’t plan to poo all over West coast lore but actually recognise and integrate it into his own stories. I think I actually hate your condescending view on NV fans more than Todd taking 13 years to integrate Vegas’ happenings into his work. Either way rant over, let’s hope we see something game related that isn’t F76 before we’re decades away from F4.
Starfield does need that top tier love. Its not good enuff. Fallout is ready for a fresh team dedicated to it, under MS n Todd too if he must. That Starfield probably needs him more. ES6? Todd might be needed there.

I think my wish is that BGS embrace the jank, and release new games for each franchise every 2-4 years. As far as engine updates, they should focus on implementing non-gameplay changes like settings menus and DLSS at launch, the ability to change monitors even on borderless windowed mode, be able to change all ini settings from within the game without restarting the game.
Then they should just focus all the rest of their budget into writing better stories. Then keep the quality/budget of everything else the same.
My reasoning for not switching engines completely is because I've never seen an Unreal Engine that is as moddable as BGS games.

I think the implication is that weren't doing much of anything. "Chasing ghosts" (which I assume is what you're referring to) typically means looking for something that doesn't exist. The line is to indicate they were wasting resources and manpower for nothing, not that there is some super secret phantom threat out there.

76 is getting an actual map expansion coming this summer. So there's that coming. I'm pretty hyped, would love to see a new game, but this is easily a next best thing...especially if they stealth dropped a 4k update on it.
What if shady sands actually got blown up because of cold fusion.
Maybe they thought they had already figured it out, but it malfunctioned. And Hank knew about this tech due to his pre-war knowledge, which is why he was so adamant about getting Lucy home. This would further complicate who is good and who is bad in perfect fallout fashion.
This could even justify the botherhood of steels cause for hording pre-war tech 😮
This would also explain why so many people know that this tech could change who controls the wasteland forever. Because it's a resource and a weapon like nothing they have seen since the bombs dropped. And people who are alive currently have witnessed its destruction.

I still like Starfield a ton, but they should have made Fallout 5 first and accepted the fact that Starfield’s vision did not align with what they were able to produce in 2023. That game makes a lot more sense to be the one to be coming closer to 2030 and the detail level could have been enhanced greatly. Fallout 5 could have been intertwined with the show and taken place in shared settings.

Fallout 76 is a decent game as of rn, I used to be a hater but honestly you can’t really hate it anymore. I mean cyberpunk had a worse launch they had to remove it from stores but now it’s very good.
I was thinking when watching that shady sands can’t have been nuked, when they approach the site there’s no indication of radiation on Lucy’s pipboy. Could have been an oversight, but I don’t think it is because they’ve shown this in other areas of the show and seem to be pretty on the ball with stuff
Yeah, I really do believe that the Fallout TV show will tie into Fallout 5 somehow. Which would be pretty cool. If it doesn’t, I Really hope Fallout 5 will be in Texas. Man I would LOVE a cool battle at the Alamo lol 😂. I’ll grab my Davy Crockett raccoon hat, Bowie Knife, & Laser Musket!!!

@@jakeremington9332 Ha! Yeah, I wouldn’t want to deal with the high taxes, ridiculous crime rates, and polluted streets. On the upside, if it was in California as a protagonist, we could clean up the problems in the state.

I still think a remake of Fallout 1 and 2 using an updated Wasteland 2 and 3 engine would be a great idea. I had an amazing time playing them as a kid but it's a slog trying to get thru them today not to mention trying to get my kids to play them.
I wish we could have a remaster of the first two games in the same spirit of the recent tomb raider remasters. Keep the same core game and give them a graphical overhaul.
I think everyone needs really low expectations for FO5. Just because they got the TV show right doesn’t mean they have figured out how to pull out of the nose dive they’ve been on with their games.

doing Fallout 3 or New Vegas ( especially New Vegas since season 2 in the show will be there) could take about 2 years.
especially if they reuse assets from 4 and 76.
they could put together some employees from Bethesda/Obsidian together to work on this.
Shady Sands looked like a precision strike and did NOT appear to have excessive radiation. I am thinking Satellite Laser strike. A weapon like IF not actually the Archimedes array from New Vegas.

There is also something called oversaturation. Since Fallout and Elder Scrolls aren't ever really gone bc of the MMOs, they are in no rush to put out a buggy mess. The wiser business decision is to take your time and come out with a big bang (like GTA). We all want the next thing as quickly as possible, but these games just take their time and they deserve to GET that time...in my opinion.
