How long after applying the product should I wait before buffing the coating to a shine? In this video, there is effectively under a minute -- is this ok?, or should I wait 2 to 5 minutes before buffing, or must it be buffed immediately?
You can wipe it off, once you've done the "cross hatch" on a panel you can just flip your microfiber towel over and buff it off, but if you waited 5 minutes, it would not be a problem
Once the coating dries on the application towel and buffing towel can they be machined wash with other microfiber towels or should we throw them out since the ceramic has dried on them and may cause scratching if reused.
Looking at videos of applications of ceramic coating they wash the vehicle then clay bar, wax remover, mineral remover then apply the ceramic coating so as per you video you can put this product right over wax and minerals?
Not exactly, it will depend on the condition of the paint. If you have heavy oxidation that is making your paint dull, you would want to buff and polish it first. After that, an application of Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant would greatly improve the gloss and slickness and offer a layer of protection. This is a great product for improving the look of a vehicle's paint, but it won't be a replacement for a full detail, if that's what your car is needing. Feel free to reach out to our tech support team if you would like some specifics.
Thanks for the vid and the info. I just got my kit today via Amazon. Looking forward to seeing what it will do to my 2004 Porsche Boxster S midnight blue. :) :)
What is the difference between this product and a traditional wax? Is this better than waxing and is it best for new or old cars? I am going to wash, dry, and clay bar my car and I want to try this product. So i don't need to use a wax just use this instead and its better than waxing?
There are several differences between this and a traditional wax, but the primary differences are that, ceramics are very hard, so they last. This will last much longer that waxing. Both the gloss and its abilities to protect the paint are superior to waxing. You are on the right track...like you said, wash dry, clay bar and then apply the Rapid Ceramic.
Wow! Just got a new Harley. I ride the crap out of my bikes. I'm going to do this for the new bike before I get any wear and tear in the paint. Thanks! Cerakote makes a headlight treatment as well.
While we can't speak specifically to how a different types of wax will bond to ceramics, it is not necessary to wax the coating. It will provide the gloss and protection on its own.
This is a fantastic product! The only thing confusing about the application was in the video, a crosshatch pass was made, but in the online instructions there is no mention that a crosshatch pass is required.
I think it should be rebranded more as a detail sealant. Many reviewers torture test it with something like a wheel and tire cleaner and it fails. With that said, if you don’t want to apply a more permanent sealant this is a fantastic product. For example I have a 2011 BMW with a lot of road rash, and I have paint corrected to the best I can but it still isn’t worthy enough for a long term treatment but this product is perfect for my car. I would use this on a new vehicle but clearly knowing it will need maintenance applications.
This product was not meant to be a "permanent" ceramic. With that said, it will last through MANY car washes and storms. It also stacks, meaning you can apply it over itself several times, which will only enhance the performance attributes of it. And you're right, it is a fantastic product!
I've seen it torture tested and it out performed equal or better than Turtle wax ceramic detailer. Not even a nano veramic coating is invincible. These guys are honest. They don't sell the product claiming it to be a permanent coating. It's extremely easy and a joy to use.
I've removed full blown coatings with several rounds of wheel cleaner. I knocked down a 4 month old coating yesterday with 4 rounds of super clean rubbed in. What is your point?
the reason it fails is because people apply the wheel cleaner and then rub it in... that would realistically never happen in a real world scenario, since you'd maybe only get some overspray and you'd pressure wash it away. some guy tested it and it lasted 5+ alkaline washes (10-pH) and then he sprayed on a tire cleaner 13pH and did not rub it in, and it lasted a few tries.. it's definitely a good product
I added 3 coats in 2 days. Water almost jumps off the paint when I use my leaf blower to dry. Similar hydrophobics to full blown coating. Super slick under my towel. Maybe more slick than Topper or Titan. Outstanding gloss and shine. Wipe on wipe off. It's that easy to use. I noticed zero streaks or smudges. Best spray wax or sealant I have used and I've used them all. Durability I can't speak for yet but it's so easy to apply I won't mind doing it again tomorrow if I had to.
It won't hurt it to use it on your trim, however, we have a Trim Coat product made specifically for the restoration of sun-faded exterior trim of your vehicle. ruclips.net/video/tD2YAqz2Foc/видео.html

This is the honest review that I left on Amazon after my awful experience with Cerakote Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant. There are many other reviews that say basically the same thing. I will say that the headlight treatment has worked great, so far. It's only been a month so I'll see how long it lasts. The plastic treatment worked good at first, but is failing in spots after only 1 month. I'll never by these products again. Total scam on the paint sealant! This stuff left a worse finish on my truck than the original finish, which is sticky. My Dodge truck came from the factory with a clear coat finish called Pearl Coat. It has a nice reflective, shiny finish. But it is sticky and collects dust and dirt and is hard to keep clean. I thought Cerakote would do the trick to slick up the finish and make it easier to clean and keep clean and shiny. WRONG! The finish left on my truck after following the instructions and watching the youtube application video, and applying two coats, is worse than the original finish. IT IS NOT SLICK! After washing or rain, water actually sticks to the vertical sides of my truck! WATER DOESN'T EVEN RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF MY TRUCK! Instead, the water beads up in tiny little beads and clings to the surface like a mist. It is much worse than the original finish, which would at least allow the water to run off the sides. Total waste of money and much effort, FOR NOTHING. Can't wait for it to wear off because it's even harder to wash now, seeing as I have to scrub off the road film and stuff that should just rinse off with the pressure washer. I could not be more disappointed and ticked off!
TW ceramic is a streaky mess and has horrible water behavior. Cerakote wipes on and off much easier and has way more slickness and better gloss. The water behavior is superior to TW as well. Use what you want though.
Get a Brand new $140k Corvette, with a paint job so perfect and new it can’t shine any better than it is already. 😅 Crosshatching application is only used when applying your 1st Ceramic Coat base where the paint needs to be fully covered, by crosshatching on the paint, let it cure for 24 hours in a closed dry area and this initial application it is NOT polished off. It dries on the paint. Then, Subsequent “ceramic quick detailing maintenance”, done every 6 months or so, such as shown here with this product (they call it sealant…LOL) are just spray and wipes. No crosshatching needed here. It just sounds good to say “crosshatching” I guess. Also, don’t copy his over spraying.
@@kentuckystumpjumper2882 This is a ceramic coating, but not a "permanent" ceramic. It will last for multiples of washes! And to apply it, lightly spray it on, wipe it across the surface, and then buff it off to an incredible shine.
