Seemed like such an awesome time, what an incredible feat and experience! 😁 Just got my BPN Black Friday order in with GO-bars and vegan protein I bought because of you, so glad to see you fuelling up on GO bars, my first time trying them, they’re so good 😋
Thanks for reminding me how special this hike is. Did it almost thirty years ago with my wife carrying our 3 year old in a backpack. We took 3 days, camping 2 nights although we did get one dinner and breakfast at Phantom Ranch. Also got caught in a surprise snow storm at the south rim which was an unexpected challenge especially because we were mindful about the season and typical weather. My lesson was it is better to go light and fast as you did, rather than heavy and slow like we did. With a child, food, water, and camping equipment on our backs I had serious doubts we were going to able to climb up out of there. But we did and it was a great adventure.
I totally say Gah-la (ah being like say "ahhhh" at the dr) and also Auhnt vs Ant (ant is a bug! lol). That is a Massachusetts thing I think (don't live there any more but some stuff never leaves you). But lilac is definitely not lilahc. I do have family members who say bah-throom which I always notice and sounds foreign to me. Congrats on R2R2R! Looks like you got cooler weather. I've done it twice, once in November and we did have snow/ice on both rooms, then in May where it was over 100F at Phantom Ranch. I think I prefer dealing with snow and ice over the heat even all the taps were on and you didn't have to filter water.
Hey Amanda, thanks for the great videos. They have been a real inspiration. I was thinking of doing this run/hike next year with my wife. Did you go down and up the same trail on the south rim or did you do the mix - South Kaibab / Bright Angel?
Congrats on bagging an R3, especially so late in the R2/R3 season. Running there is much more fun in May, and from mid-Aug-mid-Oct. That's too bad about the gimble DJI. I shoot our runs there with their standard action cam on a long selfie stick, and that's been pretty bulletproof considering the condition. The Canyon sings a Siren's song, so once you've run there, it'll keep calling you back. It's really fun to go light and fast there, with just a Naked Running Band, no poles, and add lightness and speed.
Thank you for the views. This is definitely on my list in the next year or so! Awesome accomplishment.
Thank you for taking us along Amanda! Looks pretty incredible in there, always such a fun and inspiring to watch🤠
Love it when you upload !
@@christianne2000 aww thank you so much for being here!
Awesome! I'm hoping to do this next year! Love the video!
I use the dji piocket 3 some too.. If you double click the the little zoom knob a few times the gimble will reset.
I tried the gimbal reset and a full reset 🥲 the gimbal gets stuck and is definitely faulty unfortunately!
@@JustMissAmanda bummer it's been a good camera so far.. I take it every where i go.
Amanda, your videos and story are such an inspiration. Definitely need to get you involved in the Warrior Trail Foundation’s work!

Your friend pronounces lilac correctly! Lol. I'm a Canadian though, so it could be regional.
