No need to ever apologize for including your pup in the video. She’s a treat.
My doggy is cuddly too, I’m sure he thinks he’s a person not a dog.
Wait! The muff! It's a bag you can use to keep your hands warm! And it looks like you could wear it crossbody as well, maybe? I think you might have dismissed that too quickly - it would be really handy (😂) for someone on a nature walk who wanted to use a camera or collect plant specimens etc - no on/off glove action! Maybe they needed to style it to reflect that, because with the balaclava it could actually be really useful for certain activities 😊
Muffs are really handy for those of us with disabilities who struggle to get gloves on/off when we are shopping - I've had a new one on my 'to do' list all summer, need to get cracking 😊
@Jude_B I was actually thinking it would be perfect for shopping. My hands are always cold, now I wouldn't have to wear my mitts in the stores. 😊
I love the muffins! Perfect for a holiday market and looking at lights. Throw in your keys, some cash, I.D., and hand warmer in it and you can be warm for hours. Along with my heated socks and Bob’s your uncle you will look like the smartest one in the group.
Yes! The pattern’s example was hilarious, but in practical fabrics it’s a useful accessory.
Well, those shoulder bows should be big enough for Esme. I bet that pattern turns up on GBSB 😊 and as for the muff - it had a zipped pocket! So it's sort of a bag too.
This! I would use that on nature walks - no messing around with gloves/camera/notebook!
I had the same thought about those shoulder bows! A very Esme sort of pattern.
Maybe the muff would be a handy dog carrier for you 😂
Move over backpacks the muff has arrived! 😂
😂😂😂
“Big energy”and “no words for that”….you should be in sales! 😂😂😂 All that being said….a fairly accurate description of the 2 wacky patterns! ❤ XOX
I am good at my job, aren't I? 🤣
@@TheFoldLine You are sooooo good!
Kate you are a joy. Thank you once again for a really interesting and fun video. I shall be smiling for a while ❤
Goodness sewing patterns AND a pup, what a treat!
I love seeing pups in videos, so thanks.
Also the “muff” might be useful for those of us who live in areas where you hang around in cold arenas watching your kids play hockey, think 🇨🇦. But yes they normally make me think back to Dr Zhivago, sitting in the back of a sleigh😂😂
They did have amazing accessories in that movie, 🙂.
Love the muff! Especially the wild textile it’s made in. I volunteer at a thrift store and we had a vintage muff-bag with faux leather and fleece that was so warm to slip your hand into. It did not have the shoulder strap this ones does, which would have made it more practical, but don’t knock it til you’ve tried it. You never know, it might be the next cross-body-bag sensation! 😉
Never apologise for Edie 😍 I'm here as much for her as for the sewing patterns! 23 degrees here in Cape today and expecting warmer temps by Thu, so I'm ready for summer patterns ☀️
Loved this as usual, Kate! I had to laugh at the expression of the model wearing the green wacky dress with the bows. She just looks shellshocked! Thanks for bringing joy to my Sunday as usual.
Living in Germany I always felt that Burda was so much more stuffy than Vogue when I first started to be interested in Sewing patterns because my mother had found someone to sew clothes for special occasions. In those days, if you wanted a vogue pattern in Germany, you had to fill out a tiny little slip of a form with your address and the pattern you wanted, give it to the shop where the huge catalogues were and then they‘d send the pattern to the shop, so you went to pay for it a second time. In the late 1990s they relented a little and you paid in the shop and they sent it to your home address… By then I was sewing myself and in the early 2000s practically all my sewing patterns were Vogue never mind the shipping cost… These days I would not touch them because I‘ve become so lazy and want the simple lines of many indie pattern makers.
Hi Kate. I think the muff turned into a crossbody bag would be quite clever. I've see muff patterns creep into the bag making world over the last couple of years. Your doggie is adorable. I'm all for letting her help you introduce the new patterns.🐶
The Fibre Mood Khloe dress is a modern version of the Butterick walkaway dress! My first thought was to style it like a pinny for the winter, I’m picturing it in a dark coloured lightweight denim, corduroy or wool blend over a brightly coloured turtleneck and a chunky cropped cardigan with big statement buttons over top. To finish the look just add some thick, brightly coloured tights and chunky boots 😍
You may need to size up if you want to layer it but that would depend on the ease included in the pattern obviously.
It seems that a lot of us are huge fans of the muff, I detest having to carry around a handbag and if I absolutely have to then the smaller the better. The carrying a huge, (empty but for a purse) bag trend baffles me so that there muff is a winner!
That sounds like a perfect outfit!
Ahhhh please include the pup in your videos. Made my day. I did not realize that about fiber mood patterns so thank you for mentioning. Also the muff made me laugh. I used to have a fluffy pink one with a matching hat..still traumatized lol
She does like to make an appearance!
Morning Kate, “chuckling at the muff” they made me laugh! I don’t have a dachshund but do have a hound ..a whippet…extremely demanding, especially for food, which is why I’m up so early on a Sunday morning…he wanted his breakfast. 🙄 How about a video, next week, about the trends you noticed at the Knitting and Stitching show? Have a good week
They do seem to love those early mornings... and then head straight back to bed after they've got you up!
@@TheFoldLine Absolutely!
Love most of the patterns, some of the others hilarious and your dog is so gorgeous xx
Thank you! She's also quite troublesome 😆
It’s nearly summer here in Australia!
Very enjoyable! I for one am intrigued by the muff, genuinely, minus the fluff though…
I love watching your videos❤
Nice one Kate, lovely to see your gorgeous little dog😍
Edie just knows what her public wants!
She really does!
That Vogue dress has big ribbon energy, big sleeve energy, and small cape energy. 😮 The models kept a straight face, 😂. The muff is actually useful if you go to outside stadium events in the winter, like we do here in the US. (Football in Wisconsin). Made in thick Sherpa or wool, that would be nice with a hand warmer inside.
Love your Diva.. she is soooooo sweet.. Love seeing her the burda dress is my fave
I had a muff - when I was 8.
I have been wondering about her. Thanks for showing us!
She does like the limelight... on her own terms
Thank you for showing the ‘weird and wacky’ vogue dress - I saw it when dropped so it’s good someone else shares my opinion! 😂 thanks for great update as always ❤
This is my second comment so far. You are cracking me up today. 😂 "wicked wild." Hah! Hysterical. 😂 Funny -also I did not realize we have a reputation for dressing funky.
I feel like the vogue evening gown could make an amazing witch costume if you could convince someone to throw a very fancy costume ball. And I think the Felicia Jumpsuit could be great in a suiting with a long sleeve top under it for fall/winter. Maybe with a back tab to cinch it in a wee bit at the waist and play up the waistcoat vibes.
That would be cool!
Love the dachshund. I live near a funeral home and the owners have a dachshund, Mr. Pickles. I'm sure he makes it a less stressful time for people attending visitations, especially the kids. That bow dress is out there for sure. I wonder if they were made a chiffon if that would make it a bit less crazy. I think the muff is interesting as it looks to be a bag also, perfect for shopping.
I've always had dachshunds, the long-haired version. Lost the last in June, she was 17. However, she wasn't needy she knew her worth - I was clearly "staff" and she was clearly the boss who knew best. But I have also had the sort who's default was laminated to me 😂
I think I am on Eadie's staff
Vogue 2048 is very like a recent Alexander McQueen dress - I love it !! And your pooch😎❤
more whacky stuff please! love it
Brilliantly entertaining- still smiling 😂😂😂. Lynne
Had a thought about the Vogue bow dress - it could be better styled as a wedding dress in a softer fabric with tulle bows and the muff in white faux fur for a winter wedding. Especially love the Fibre Mood dress
She‘s not needy, she‘s attached 😉- I‘d love to get myself one, but just having got my children out of the house, I‘m not ready for this sort of commitment. I always enjoy seeing the Internationale of Dachshunds- us Bavarians tend to feel they are our heraldic animals, but obviously, that’s not true anymore. Thanks for all the regular, charming and informative content!
Commitment is the word! She is worth it though 🐶
I was just thinking how handy a muff would be for my Milky Way photography- it’s usually in winter, below zero and windy. I wear ski gloves but taking them on and off whenever I need to tweak the camera is a nightmare. I need a muff! But I think my one will be less out there than the Burda sample 😂
LOL Kate. I have 6! Trust me they are all the same. Just love them to bits. Tiny legs and huge attitude. Edie is gorgeous!
That's the perfect description!
I have a chi-wienie (chihuahua dachshund mix) who is blind. He is very loving and affectionate but needy and whiny sometimes. My family and I adore him. I was never much for Vogue patterns, but back in the 50s, 60, and 70s, my late Nanna would make all her "house" dresses out of Vogue patterns--shirtwaist style with matching fabric belts which she would send away to have made. I wonder what she would think of Vogue now! However, I do like that Vogue double-breasted jacket. Thanks, Kate.
I know all about needy dogs 🤣
There could be another series on Wild and Crazy Patterns. Maybe monthly just for a giggle!!
That is a brilliant idea 🤣
When my second child was a newborn he slept between us in the bed, among the two dachshunds we had at the time. Middle of sleepless night I accidentally picked up a dachshund to nurse instead of my son. Never will forget the look that dachshund gave me!
🤣🤣🤣
That is brilliant 🤣
You never disappoint ❤
Your doxie can be in every video. I lost mine last year, and I miss the doxie love.
I'll see if I can persuade her to feature more often!
If a trend is going to happen i hope it's the muff and not the shoulder bows!😂❤
Has anyone else who’s used Burda patterns, hate the fact that there are no notches? I’m old school, so maybe it’s just me. The designs are great, but I do like lovely accurate notches.
Enjoy seeing everything Kate.
Burda has notches. What Burda does not have, is seam allowances. I use Burda a lot. But recently their magazines have become less interesting. They are struggling, like all the big pattern companies.
My recent enveloped Burda pattern had no notches, nor a previous one. I haven’t bought their magazines for many years. Perhaps I was just unlucky. I’ve just checked and they are notch free!
She is so gorgeous
When my dog hears your voice saying "hello everyone..." He lies down for a nap knowing I'm going to be sitting still for a while! Also...what about Kloe in a fine needle cord to wear in colder months over polo necks etc.? The front reminds me of a bib on overalls.
You described the series of events perfectly 🤣
Thanks Kate. 😊
Love the muff 😂😂
Goodness a muff has to become the number 1 trend!.
I would actually use this on nature walks when I'm taking photos and making notes. I like the fact that it looks like a bag, and it would be perfect to keep just for those occasions. Wouldn't misplace it either, if it was made up in that wacky faux fur! 😊
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂" Incredibly hilarious"😂
I don't think of my dachshund as needy, he just likes to be with me. He is very keen on cuddles but will quickly abandon me to lie in a warm sunny spot!
Thank you
Wiggidy wild 😅
I wonder what Esme would have to say about that ginormous shoulder bows on that Vogue dress 😂
She does love an enormous bow! 🎀
You can actually buy the Fibre Mood Magazin 30
Puppy!!!!!
Why apologize for your dog being in the video? She’s adorable. Please include her more!
She is too cute ❤
I'm from a dachsy family- no need to apologise!
Disappointing that several of these are already sold out!
There is a word that comes to my mind whenever I see Vogue, KnowMe etc patterns: HIDEOUS.
🤣🤣
