Thank you Kate. Saves us all a lot of work. For the boxy mini dress - just extend the Donny shirt into a dress - perfect in denim. Must sort my wardrobe and do a proper autumn sewing plan. 😊 Lynne
Great plan!
I always enjoy these trips to the stores and then the fabrications. You always do such a great job of analyzing and then finding. XOX
I’ve got a traditional kilt that was handmade for me in 1981. The 80s really are back.
Thank you for all your work, I really appreciate the time this must have taken.
Thank you so much! Love these videos, and there are always patterns I have not heard of before, too. Really inspiring.
For the really short flair dress and also a good size inclusive range- French peotry Pleiades dress!
Oh yes!! I made this just recently for a holiday. An easy make and so comfortable. Much complimented!
I LOVED my kilt I wore in grades 7 and 8. I oftern wore it with one of my dad's cardigans, extremely oversized, this was in the early 70's. When I got to high school, the cheerleaders wore mini kilts. Ooh I wanted that mini kilt, but too shy to try out for the cheerleading team. Awe, memories.
Cultural Appropriation. No, I’m not serious. But as a Scot, it winds me up when people bang on about not using terms like Kimono Sleeve, or we can’t have tribal tattoos. But everyone wears tartan and kilts and apparently that is ok
Tbh kilts are REALLy not that popular so …
Scots know a good business opportunity / branding exercise when they see one.
@@susanstewart1402😂🥳
I never understood this cultural appropriation thing in dress. Is not this one of the cases where imitation is the greatest kind of flattery? Kimono sleeves - do we ever get them right? no we don‘t. Do we need to live in a cottage to appreciate the cottage core look? And what has happened to historical kilts that could be unpleated at night to be used as a blanket.
@@india1422 because tartans are so beautiful👏 my Catholic school uniform was a pleated skirt. Pleated like kilts are.
Excellent trends analysis and pattern pairings. Thank you so much.
Great work again Kate, love these trips down the high street, loads to think about, thank you. 😊
Thanks Kate for such a great selection of styles and patterns, all so wearable. A slip skirt is next on my agenda, love that look with a chunky
knit sweater ( I'm always cold in the winter !!!! )
Apart from no longer fitting into the sizes I could then, this feels like a time warp back to the late 80s & my old patterns popular again! Androgyny & big shoulder pads. And if that dress were pink plaid with that ruching = a great Halloween costume with a partner in a slim beigy pink suit for an adult theme party...😂.
Great stuff! Thanks Kate
Thanks Kate 😊
That was great! Very informative. Thanks.
Thanks for the two parter some great ideas xx
Very interesting- thank you. Now I’m going to watch it again!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a wonderful list
Assembly Line oversized shirt is great as dress. I believe I bought that from Fold Line!
Thank you!
Wonderful as always! Many thanks
Thank you for this.I find that there are a lot of North American indie patterns that would be suitable but are missed in these rundowns.
Which ones do you think?
There are so many options we pick from the designers that are in the Fold Line shop, but you can browse for more options outside of that 😘
@@TheFoldLineoh that makes sense that you feature the ones in your shop! I didn’t realize that. Keep up the great work
Those slim fitting jersey dresses… the Pattern Emporium Entice Me dress would be perfect!
Thank you - I’ve been looking for a fitted t shirt dress & that pattern is perfect!!
Love this edit, thank you! I also think the Bennie Vest would be a really nice pattern for the waistcoat section
I'm currently staying 20 minutes from Saguaro National Park where the large saguaro cactus resides (around a ton).
It's pronounced su-WAR-o.
Love this trends series. Really fantastic research.
Fab, thanks Kate. 😊
Thank you for this !!
For the waiscoast, i would also suggest the COSTERA pattern from Pauline y Alice.
I made it in April for a wedding : it's great and i was very proud of me for sewing it !!❤
Ah, Kate, this was great! Basically I've been ahead of the curve with the trousers/waistcoat combo as I've just made a set in ramie! 😍 This will never happen again, most likely, so I'll quit my fashionista role right here, right now....🤣😂🤣😂😘
Mic drop! 🎤
@@TheFoldLine 🤣😂🥰 I met the lovely Mel at Frocktails on Friday night. Great fun 😍💃
Thank you. Fascinating as always and the red jumper looks great on you.
Thank you so much!
Switzerland is ready! Happy weekend!
I'm still laughing about your comment about the kilt trend and your school uniform. My daughter, who is about your age, went to private school in the USA and tells me she is "allergic" to plaid.
This was a spectacular viewing of the trends. Please keep up the great job you do.
Thank you so much 🥰
In addition to the other ruched midi dresses I'd consider Fibremood's Cloud dress, with or without sleeves. You could use a complementary lining fabric to cover the hole if you wanted to.
Good point!
The skirts on the trend board are midi straight skirts. Pencil skirts are a a specific shape; a straight skirt that curves over the hip to come in at the knees and has a kick pleat in the back. The Coco skirt pattern is a perfect example. You would have to change the shape of the hip line to lengthen it, making it into a straight skirt first. We still need some long straight skirt examples to sew. 🙂
The myosotis lengthened too!
cheers!
Thank you!
