  • Today, we will be showing you short women cuts for thick hair and how to texturize the hair without over thinning the hair. Thick hair DOES NEED the excess bulk removed but it's important that stylists don't over thin your hair💇‍♀️.
    -------
before we get started though, we just wanted to tell you that we do a MONTHLY FREE PRODUCT GIVEAWAY. each month our system randomly draws for a winner (no purchase necessary)🤑. you can enter to win at www.nvenn.com/giveaway 🥰.
    -------
Calista has undergone a MAJOR HAIR TRANSFORMATION. This week’s video is part 3 of a 3️⃣ part series.
Part 1: is my client ready to have short hair - questions to ask your clients about short hair • is my client ready to ...
Part 2: using blonde to brighten up my face: how to make highlights look natural
    • using blonde to bright...
We wanted to capture ALL of it for you! BIG HAIR TRANSFORMATIONS can be nerve-wracking for both the stylist and the client ➡ if there isn’t a CLEAR end destination and CLEAR path to get to the desired end result🤩.
Calista is looking for a BIG hair change that will be very simple for her to maintain and easy for her to style! She wants hair that she doesn’t have to spend a lot of time fussing with each morning as she is running out of the door😎.
After the long and thorough consultation they had together (PART 1️⃣ of video series), Jessica decided that it would be best to graduate Calista’s hair. It would make it the easiest for her to style on a day to day basis.
Short hair pushes long hair so the structure of graduated cuts are designed to naturally build weight. This will give Calista the body she is looking for in her styles without her actually needing to style it that way.
That being said, Calista has enough hair on her head for 2.5 people! Her ponytail could be an actual PONY tail 🐴.
Graduating Calista’s hair would make it look like a BALL or a SPHERE → if it isn’t texturized because she has soooo much! (You will get to see what her hair looks like before we texturize it in the video😜). She’s only 20 and doesn’t want to look like a ⚽ mom (and we don’t blame her 😂).
At the end of the cut, Jessica will go over some tips and tricks on how to texturize the hair without over thinning the hair. There are some things to consider when you are working with SUPER, THICK hair 🤔.
You want to take out enough to DEBULK it but you want to use enough care to not OVER THIN YOUR HAIR 💇‍♀️. Short cuts for thick hair CAN BE TRICKY 👻.

Thanks for this video. I feel like no one explains you when you are at the salon. I have thick AND really wavy hair, not like this girl that basically had straight hair. @J.v It will definitely bounce up so I recommend cutting it shorter in stages so you can see how the hair behaves. If you like what it's doing then you can continue shorter.
Texturizing and debulking is definitely an art. It's really just about how the hair feels and how the hair lays.

That's a bad haircut. I also have very thick hair. Im 53. I've only had 2 people who knew how to cut it really well. One of them was a male, and he did an excellent A line, and the other was a female, and she cut a perfect bob. A good hairstylist should know what it needs and not have to ask the client, and the haircut shouldn't have to be styled to look good it should look good after it's been cut.

I wish, I could find a hair stylist, who understands thick hair.
I have to deal with the added 'fun' of straight-wavy hair in the top layers and almost curly hair at the neck.
The only thing, that ever really worked for me was an undercut...but I don't really like them and my s.o. downright hates them, so it's not a good option.
It's such a struggle, finding a medium length style, that works.

Ohhhh you need a Christmas tree cut 😅. (That's what we call it anyways). I basically divide the hair into 2 or 3 sections and layer it internally. It's beautiful for straight or curly hair and great for longer lengths. I'll do a tutorial on it one day when I get a model for it 🥰
