- I though that this cutscene was pretty cool. The highest human evolution since the fight began against the aliens. A psi gifted soldier with incredible powers.
My volunteer was the sole survivor of the first mission... That was just narrative genius.
My First Volunteer had the same voice, class, and flag of my tutorial mission survivor.

I remember that the first time I played the game, I made 2 Sectopods act like complete dumba**es.
Basically, I thought I'd try to mind control a Berserker & charge into them, but ended up standing inbetween them. One of the Sectopods fired at the Berserker, but the blast damaged the other one in the process, then the 2nd one did the same, with the Berserker barely alive.
But when the first one fired again, it killed the Berskerker, AND Sectopod #2, where the explosion killed #1. Fail!
Wow that sounds awesome :)
I like how the XCOM story progressed, but it's kind of sad that this cool little scene wouldn't have canonically happened
I would like to think it was a halo moment. We beat the first ship. The smaller escort.... Then the rest of the elders arrive and slaughter us. Capturing the commander whose tactical genius led to them losing so they wanted a strong mind for their Avatar project.

I'm pretty sure the temple ship assault failed. At the same time the commander was Captured. Jake Solomon I'm pretty sure said the Volunteer exists
@@Wheee135 seems most logical. there had to be some sort of success against the invasion for the elders to consider the commander the most important person of the human species, to a point where the commander's mind was used to run military exercise for the advent soldiers.
If the canon was that the invasion succeeded with barely any resistance from Earth, the commander would be a nobody.
question: do you chose the volunteer or does the game do it for you?
You choose the volunteer, but you can only pick a soldier with psionic powers.

@@alduintheanti-dragonborn i don't think you be able to access the Gollop Chamber whitout someone with the Gift... so you'ill have to contract or obtain a squaddie with a Gift

Mine is at facing uber ethereal , that thing tried to mind control the volunteer whom equipped with mind shield , then I send in my assault and double shot it at point blank range , instantly killed it .
Idk why I was reccomended this but at 1:30 you can see some random guy sticking outta the ground in the chamber, lol

had chilong since the 3rd mission all the way till the end and he blew up with the ship. He was my fucking protagonist, fought his way through 80 missions, had 237 confirmed kills and was my first colonol. He saved humanity with his bear hands.

Thats about what I had with all demon class interceptors and a full base and upgrades.
