In fact, the game tries to cheat in such situations: patrols "accidentally" move directly to your reaper position. One time, a Sectopod stepped on my reaper, going straight through a wall. But maybe it depends on the difficulty level.
I guess Sectopods are built different. I remember doing a story mission on Veteran, and hid my squad behind a barricaded bridge that I thought the Sectopod would _reasonably_ walk by... Except it decided to make a turn from the literal asphalt road it was following before and smashed through said barricade, revealing my squad...
During any mission even on rookie, the enemy will go into “walking patterns” but, the time you start moving towards or even just sitting for a bit, they will do all they can to look for you and their so called ‘patterns’ become blatant search parties for your team. Doesn’t seem to be the case with prisoner missions like getting back the skirmisher ally but all other situations are pretty much just them searching for you nonstop.
Hey man good video. Its niche information but it helped me, this game is kinda huge and a lot to learn in it. You should produce more videos man, you are helpful - i think you can be a good source of info.
Same. I played the original remake xcom and the dlc add more to what you have to learn. I decided to try this one with the dlc for 5 bucks and I've been playing for 2 to 3 hours already and barely learning that I'm supposed to be branching out looking for resistance camps.
The solo Reaper strategy works in other areas, too. I once did the first Blacksite with a solo Reaper, though it took a few tries to clear out enough enemies to get at the vial uncontested.
If u bring a whole team and u have no reapers. Try to get concealed as close by and blow up the wall if there aint no shortcut. U just need to holdout for 1 turn and can safelly extract.
Had to learn the hard way that there are missons in the game that are better for you if you don't bring the whole crew, but I don't think I would have found this out. Thanks!
That isn't just console. PC has those kinds of bugs too so does the Switch version. Far as I'm aware they were never fixed but they're thankfully very rare.
Works but is not as useful as you'd think. At the beginning of the game the alien facilities you can unlock have a ruler in them and that mother.... will then appear in your regular missions if you do this wiping your squads and causing you to fail. When you're as far in the game as to have alien facilities unlocked that don't have a ruler in them you can pretty much stomp the mission with your B or even C squad. It's not a timed mission you can take your time with it and if you really want to you can cheese the shit out of it. Bring a reaper and a sharpshooter and you can scout with the reaper and shoot with sharpshooter squad sight from the other end of the map every turn without any risk. Just keep your soldiers far, far back and the pods will just run around when you shoot at them. Even on legend it's only 11 enemies per facility and only one of them is a gatekeeper or a sectopod.
If anyone wants a video on a game just drop a comment and if I have the game I'll get that video out asap.... Thanks for watching and please don't forget to subscribe...
@@BEARDEDGAMER5 As long as you don't start the Advent Network Tower mission you can play forever. I like trying different strategies when Advent builds a new facility at that point with one of my thirty or so colonel's, LOL.
There are two issues with this stategy: 1. If alien hunters is on Rulers can spawn on facility missions, and they can take an action and potentially kill or knock out your reaper as they run to extract. 2. Advanced Mechs can overwatch on pod scatter and kill the reaper as they move to extract. I bring along a rookie as a sacrificial lamb on these missions in case i need to draw overwatch or lure the alien ruler away as the reaper plants the bomb.
yeah i do it cod style usually, 2 reapers to run ahead and make sure the bomb is planted, and like 5 other soldiers sitting in the backline waiting for shit to either go down, usually the reaper planting most likely always dies
Just to point out this ONLY works if you dont have Volunteer Army or Double Agent orders, others your reaper might spawn in with an accomplice which means a restart, which if your doing Iron or Honest Man runs can screw you.
I suppose you can use them to draw the enemy's attention from the Reaper. If the enemy is lingering on the objective for too long have your walking guns take potshots at the enemies while the Reaper gets the objective.
Technically speaking the fastest way is by using cheats or hacks. If anyone doesn't know there's an option only available in War of The Chosen that doubles the Avatar Project timer if you feel like you need it.
How are you so rich LOL? I'm in Vanilla and have 11 contacts and I have about a 1k deficit that needs to be filled because I am upgrading everything like mad.
Personally think it's one of the most annoying things in the game, I know it's the plot, but being able to play without the "game over counter", at least for the first playthrough, would be a boon.
The Games structure to avoid Progress in Avatar project IS pure luck and there IS No way with strategic behavior to be Not confronted with a loss in the end
It's hilarious how obscenely unbalanced/easy Xcom 2 is without Long War and whatnot. This is legit at the difficulty level of a regular March Smash n' Grab op. 😂😂
You got very lucky, but that trick can't repeat itself every time you try to pull it. You can easily run into the nastiest bunch of enemies on your bold double move turn and get insta wrecked. But yes, that's what I did several times: minding my own stuff till dedline, then haul ass to blow the shit up, with the whole squad.
You know, the Reapers canonically do this. This is a lore friendly strategy.
lol wait really? i just assumed the commander rescue for the intrk was random bs the devs did
In fact, the game tries to cheat in such situations: patrols "accidentally" move directly to your reaper position. One time, a Sectopod stepped on my reaper, going straight through a wall. But maybe it depends on the difficulty level.
Happens roughly half the time on normal. I think it's random

Except it decided to make a turn from the literal asphalt road it was following before and smashed through said barricade, revealing my squad...
@@Madcat1331 every enemy has a chance to start walking towards your hiding position. The only difference is sectopoids don't care about walls

Send two Reapers so that one can hold the other's beer
I found this strategy on my 2nd play through and figured that a ranger with a wraith suit and mimic beacon as well as a lot of patience does the trick
Wow, I can actually go back and not feel like I'm playing against impossible odds!
Neath - although you miss out on the ability to skulljack a senior officer which reduces the avatar progress by another bar.

I was actually planning another video for this week so please stay tuned

Thank you brother, just started again in 2024, stay blessed.
This is insane. I would never have had enough brain cells to come up with this strategy. I always go all in with all my soldiers dying
Lmao
這...地球完蛋了,這種指揮官 完蛋了
just to be safer, if reaper has tactical rigging, equip him with overdrive serum or sustaining sphere.
Thanks for the information, my back was really up against he wall with the avatar project.
No problem if anyone needs help on agame just let me know and if I have the game I'll post a video..
I .just wondering how do I get cool armour and weapons and power in my facility lol
This was the most helpful strategy video I've seen on Xcom 2. Thanks for this!
The solo Reaper strategy works in other areas, too. I once did the first Blacksite with a solo Reaper, though it took a few tries to clear out enough enemies to get at the vial uncontested.
I always bring my reaper on these facility assaults, but never thought to bring JUST the reaper 😂
Damn I spend half an hour preparing the perfect facility ambush only to find out you can do it with one guy wearing a trench coat and gas mask
If u bring a whole team and u have no reapers. Try to get concealed as close by and blow up the wall if there aint no shortcut. U just need to holdout for 1 turn and can safelly extract.
I've done that for missions too, brought the whole gang just in case, but didn't even need to fire a shot sometimes.
I've done this on missions before too. Feels good being able to smash and grab without taking a single hit.
Had to learn the hard way that there are missons in the game that are better for you if you don't bring the whole crew, but I don't think I would have found this out. Thanks!
Wow thanks for this strategy it's almost 11 pm and I was looking for options. You came through bro🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm going to get back into the game after finishing WOTC on Commander Difficulty in 2017. This tip will come in handy.
"Amazing, mission complete. That right there is why you're the best Boss!"
they should earn at least some xp or ability points for the mission goal, not just for the kills
Do you guys know if the console version got fix? Because I remember a bug on iron man mode that the came would crash and delete the save file game
That isn't just console. PC has those kinds of bugs too so does the Switch version. Far as I'm aware they were never fixed but they're thankfully very rare.

I can't believe this video came up just as i lost the game! 😢😢😢😢ARRRGGGGHHHHH!! But I'm definitely try this. Thank you.
One thing I love about playing this on the Xbox Series X.. The short loading times.
I am just starting the game. I installed it on my PC on its very fast SSD. Load times are not an issue.
Man, everyone has short loading times on an SSD
Yo that was sick… definitely gonna change how I play.
Before WoTC, this was a very mundane strategy because you can only use a single ranger; even with a Wraith Suit.
I thought I was only one playing this
I completed game once so my question is how long you can play is there time limit?
No you can run the game perpetually at a certain point.
If you leave one chosen alive you can play to your hearts content
@@BEARDEDGAMER5 As long as you don't start the Advent Network Tower mission you can play forever. I like trying different strategies when Advent builds a new facility at that point with one of my thirty or so colonel's, LOL.
Ty for the video! I really like this game but never finished the Campaign... The Avatar Project stresses me out everytime and I stop playing :(

I like reaper snipers strat on this missions. Reaper spots and snipers have great distance.
Thanks!! What are your favorite mods for vanilla XCOM 2? I mean like "skins" or "voices" or "heads-up display" enhancements.
I mostly enjoy skins the most, they're aesthetically pleasing
Can you do this if you dont have woc?
You can but you'll need the wraith suit and if possible the ranger
got this in recommended, i miss when i watched this game on YT when I was young, maybe I should give it a try and play it one day?
It's a fun game!
Why I can hear her whispering "omae wa mou shindeiru" while hopping on the Skyranger?
When do you get the reaper soldiers?
damn...that easy. Nice, defo gonna try this.
Hope you enjoy
Thank you, helped alot. Have a great day
Commander, the aliens continue to make progress on the Avatar project. If we're going to slow them down, we'll need to move - fast.
Omg

I always gave these guys the ghost armor to just walk through walls
But this is new to me
I always try to have a facility readily accessible
yeah i do it cod style usually, 2 reapers to run ahead and make sure the bomb is planted, and like 5 other soldiers sitting in the backline waiting for shit to either go down, usually the reaper planting most likely always dies
Can this be done on PS5?
Thank you for this video
Props to you on this one
Badass
And then one of the Chosen or Alien Rulers appear and immediately break your Reapers concealment.
I don't have WoTC, so I just do this with a Ranger in vanilla where the patrols can see the Ranger from 5x the range
How do you get a reaper
you get the wotc dlc then there is a mission a little bit after you start the game that gives you a reaper
Just to point out this ONLY works if you dont have Volunteer Army or Double Agent orders, others your reaper might spawn in with an accomplice which means a restart, which if your doing Iron or Honest Man runs can screw you.
Bro just leave them behind then let them die after your reaper gets out? Who gaf if they die they're free cannon fodder.
I suppose you can use them to draw the enemy's attention from the Reaper. If the enemy is lingering on the objective for too long have your walking guns take potshots at the enemies while the Reaper gets the objective.
AWESOME
Thanks 🤗
我不會說這是最快速的方式,只不過一次普通的任務,用潛行的方式解決

I played this game 5 times and neverrrr got a reaper... Never lost a match... And count down still ends on me

One thing. Use this only if there is no Vahlen animal in the facility (sorry, I don't remember the name).
