@@LaChartreyes. The rest is just an oversized headstock which just looks stupid imo and has no bearing on how it sounds or plays. You can easily make this thing
Cheaper, but also worse fit and finish, worse materials, no treble bleed, a worse feeling bridge when palm muting, and worse stability because it's not hard tail.
Veneer is the term used, the part touching the neck is curved. A slab is when it’s flat so it’s a little thicker. Veneer is a stupid word for it, but it is the term used. I had to google it
I like the idea of a hard tail strat with a single humbucker at the bridge. I am not interested in paying extra for the artist's name. Real "Old School" Fenders are a single piece maple neck where the finger board isn't a slab, it IS the same piece of wood as the neck (needing the routing up the back of the neck to install the truss rod, and the skunk stripe to fill the routing slot). Skunk stripes on attached fretboard necks always look goofy because they are just a decoration.
A buddy of mine bought one. I was not impressed with the fretwork and needed a real setup upon delivery. I also vote to build a partscaster and slap one of these one- dimensional pickups in it. And I'm a big SD fan...
I have an old sea foam green one, and play it almost exclusively, nice simple solid buzz free sound & I like the neck feel too. The volume is a bit in the way as others have stated but overall I'd say very nice for ~$600 not for $1300 though!Mine was a once in a lifetime gift, forever greatful to you Bill and Ida D. I will play it till I can play no more.
That volume knob/pot is in the way for me. I like my controls out of the way like Gibson who always has their controls behind the bridge so it stays out of the way of strumming. I returned a Fender Jim Root Telecaster back in the day cause of this. Charvel used to do the same thing but now are getting them far enough back that's why I play Charvel. I have a 96' Surfcaster(first owner) and a 2023 Pro Mod SoCal style-2 HH HT which rules for a modern 24 fret tele. This is extremely overpriced considering my new Charvel and yhis are made in the same factory. My guitar is loaded with modern ergonomics, Fishman Fluence Open Core pickups and on and on while this is a one trick pony with Delonge's name on it for $1300 while my Charvel is $1000.
@@DamianS1893 I understand that line of thought, but I like to justify it by thinking that I'm helping some poor Chinese person have a factory job.... It's better than nothing
What the hell is everyone’s problem? 😢 As Tom said it’s a tool. Of course if you wanna play Hendrix you gonna buy an oldschool strat, if you wanna play jazz then you go for a hollow body tipically. For the people saying you can build this guitar for cheaper, good luck with that. People are listing some parts but purposely forgetting the hard tail body, the treble bleed and that specific neck with the 70's styled limited production with the oversized headstock. By the time you're done, you're ending up with around the same price ir double the effort.
I think it's overpriced. I would definitely want one though if it was a lot cheaper. Most of the time I play guitar I only care about volume knob and bridge pickup.
That guy could sell a guitar to a man with no arms or legs. I love his enthusiasm especially when he demo’s the John 5 Ghost Telecaster. Unfortunately hardly anybody can afford it but it’s nice dreaming about it.

1. Get any cheap partcaster strat
2. Block the trem
3. Put an invader on the bridge
You get a cheaper, more versatile strat

Honestly, people can buy similar parts and put them together and it still won't feel or sound the same. It might look the same but that's it
Daphne Blue finish is gorgeous
i'm more of a surf green
@@bon2yan88 Second favorite finish
the knob being in that spot is so nice, idk what fender thought putting the knob so close to the bridge
Being a hardtail …that’s a plus for me🎸
I love that he has range
Squiers going into signatures now cool! That's what I heard about the quility control on these atleast.
Wait, so you're saying that string through body and a rosewood fingerboard makes this guitar special? Damn...it's as special as a squier tele!
Finding a squier tele with rosewood is pretty difficult these days ;) mostly all laurel
Excellent choice of T-shirt Dagan!
It’d be so great if it wasn’t $1200
Value is like $500 tops.
For real! It’s an awesome guitar but wildly overpriced!! You can build a comparable partscaster for WAY less 💵💵!!!
Such a cool guitar 🎸
I like this guitar it's very simple like esquire was when it was released in 1951
I made my own tom delonge strat Squier seafoam green . Change the pickgaurd with one SD invader pickup and there you go.
Bruz! That's a guitar for my collection!
Can't believe this neck is now notable when it used to come on $200 squiers
We need more hard tail strats man
The only thing i like is the pickup🤷🏼♂️

Too bad Fender's QC department were on a vacation when these were built.

Does your Pro Mod So Cal 2 HH HT have the reverse headstock?
I wish it had black hardware
Snake Oil
I think it's to expensive
Every strat needs a single pickup /solid/ tone ..we need MIDDLE,MIDDLE and MIDDLE
Looks cool, impractical for the money
Don't care
The only thing from Tom Delonge I care about is his flying saucer he's building to contact the aliens

Haven’t heard much good about this guitar, especially for the $1300.
Rather have a Jr
Me, too.
I'm interested in ANY guitar with a real rosewood board nowadays. Can we please plant more trees or something
