Vienna/Fairfax-GMU North Garage elevator emergency announcement

North Garage elevator at the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station on July 6, 2005, in emergency mode. Along with the "Level [X], thank you for using the Metro rail," announcement, the voice says, "This elevator is needed because of an emergency. Please exit the elevator when the doors open."
Despite the flashing fire indicator and emergency announcement, the elevator was operating normally. Because of the additional emergency announcement, the end result was that the elevator voice talked the entire time that I was riding.
