Now that's what I call a riveting, can't take your eyes off movie!!
This may not fall under the category of big budget flicks...but at 37:18 into this story, I'm here to tell you that this plot moves along nice n smooth. I savored every frame, every bit of the dialog and especially the environments both interior and exterior. One thumb up...the other hand is holding my JD filled tumbler.👍👌

Stefano Gallo could play a goldfish real good. This storyline was just short of a classic. Too good/bad. It needed some grey area.

This is the moment to remember: THE LOTTERY IS A SPECIAL TAX FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE BAD AT MATH.
It made no sense for Chips to rob the game when he could make more money winning legit. No split no risk, he was the only real gambler playing a bunch of bankers so he likely won fairly regularly. Just saying.
Well, I'm 23 minutes in, and there seems to be a big problem: We should want the protagonist to come out victorious. We should be rooting for him.
But the main character is not at all likable. How do I root for a guy who begs and STEALS money from his poor, broken-down mother to feed his gambling addiction? A guy who will go along with brutalizing an innocent parking garage attendant in order to steal a car so he can sell it to other criminals?
He doesn't seem to have any scruples, no moral compass, no sense of honor or integrity; he doesn't seem to give a shit about anybody but himself and those who bring him gratification. I can't care about this guy.
Which makes it hard to enjoy the journey of struggle.
Hopefully the plot will become interesting enough to give this story some redeeming grace.

for some loneliness is preferable to disappointment ...
how about learning to love yourself first and know your worth and value, then you find a partner who does as well, or stay miserable

*Spoiler Alert*: GREAT movie, UNTIL... the VERY end when he decides to switch and end his poker career and do college??? That is NOT the "happy ending" for a true poker pro and/or rec, like Rounders, where Mike leaves to Vegas to take his shot at the end.
Soooo he didn’t get any money in the end ? Like what was it all for

The actor playing Bobby has all the appeal of a bout of diarrhea. How could the great Sorvino agree to be in the same film with that grotesque? The movie's not bad otherwise. Thank you.
