Brothers Paul and Dom, mountain biking enthusiasts, spend their retirement exploring the Sierras-Dom to stay active and Paul to distract himself from the devastating loss of his wife. During a mid-ride trail, they discover a burned-down cabin hiding a dark secret: a tied-up skeleton and a hidden metal box containing a last letter, a map, and a stash of gold.
Driven by Paul’s adventurous spirit, and against Dom’s better judgement, they seek out Claire Desrosiers, the letter's recipient. They learn her grandfather was a modern-day Robin Hood who stole the gold from a corrupt mining consortium that embezzled workers' retirement funds.
Hoping that this quest will lift him from his depression, Paul decides to find the gold and return it to its rightful owners. Paul and Dom embark on a journey to the magical sands of Nevada’s Great Basin, unaware that the consortium has anticipated this moment. They have hired a hitman, Michael Turner, to retrieve the gold by any means necessary.
What began as a bike trip to stay active in their golden years turns into a perilous adventure, placing Paul and Dom in the crosshairs of a dangerous group determined to silence any whistleblowers. In a desperate move, Paul decides to strike Michael where he least expects it: his family.
