Patsy always had a cry in her voice. But she was crying with this song. By the time she got to "Faded love" she couldn't stop crying. By the end of the song she's breaking your heart. I don't know how she can sing a song perfectly while she's crying. Patsy was & still is amazing! You are right, Patsy is one of a kind & nobody can take her place.
That is the story but the songwriter Bill Mack says he didn't write it with anyone in mind. He wrote Blue in 1958 and recorded it personally. The song didn't chart. In 1963 Roy Drusky a country singer suggested Patsy should record it. She was interested and Bill Mack sent the song to Patsy's producer Owen Bradley but then we know what happened.
Recorded just a month before her passing and it was a hit on both the pop and country charts after she died and was also the title of the biopic made of her life also called Sweet Dreams that starred Jessica Lange as Patsy.
Patsy’s voice is so beautifully haunting…she pulled out all the stops on this one, u can really hear exactly what she could do vocally…definitely my fave Patsy song ❤
I was in the U.S. Army when this song was popular and I have seen many a G.I. break down and cry listening to this song after getting a breakup letter from their girl back home. This was the song a boy would play on the jukebox while drinking a cold beer, trying to forget.
It was 1960 on grandpa's farm, I was 4, patsy was on the radio in the barn for music to sooth the cows. I asked grandpa who this was singing, he said patsy cline, I've never forgotten that moment. You're reactions are priceless and worth waiting for! Peace from Northern Michigan
I adore Patsy Cline. I learned to sing from my grandma and grandpa and they loved her. I had all her tapes as a kid, still have them, and I would call her Patsy Client 😂 some of the best memories with my grandparents include her ❤
Simply beautiful! Patsy's greatest hits is my go to music when cleaning house! All 3 of my grown children know every word for ALL her songs....or I should say Masterpieces! Superb!
Patsy was my grandparents favorite singer. Look up Blue by LeAnn Rimes. The song was written for Patsy but she passed away before recording it. LeAnn isn’t Patsy but she did justice to Patsy’s memory and she was only 16 when she recorded it. It’s a shame Patsy died before recording it.
You have great musical taste. Patsy was one of the greatest singers ever, in a league of her own. Too bad she wasn't able to do day a duet with Karen Carpenter. I need to check out if she did duets. What an angelic voice!!!!
Thank you. Patsy was one of my mother's favorite singers mother's saying quite a few of her songs back in the day when her dad owned a night club. So mother could sing, thank you. I'm miss her everyday.
The first time I heard of her was through a movie called Coal Miner's Daughter about country singer Loretta Lynn. I fell in love with that song, Sweet Dreams. Then, years later, the previews for the movie Sweet Dreams about Patsy Cline's life came out on TV. I knew I had to see this movie. It took about 10 to 12 years later before I finally bought the movie and watched it. I still have and watch it. If you get the chance to, I suggest listening to Lorretta Lynn's song Coal Miner's Daughter. She and Patsy Cline were good friends.
you need a FANTASTIC button.....in the days of going to the honky tonks to dance this was called 'buckle polishing' music.....you danced REAL close.....and mostly swaying together.....try it with your person....
You need to listen to "Blue", by 14 yr. old Leann Rimes. It was written for Patsy, and waiting to be recorded, when she died in a plane crash. It sat on the writers shelf for 30 years, until he heard Leann. I dare you to give a listen, close your eyes, and tell me you don't hear Patsy Cline. There will never be another another Patsy, but Leann will be a close as we get!
I agree with you one of one e you cannot recreate that voice. I love your reaction the look on your face when she hit certain notes. judging by her songs you would think you would think she was brokenhearted all the time but she really was a sexy lady and had lots of guys like her. she got married and sometimes they would fight she wasn't much afraid of him she didn't let him push her around she would leave or she would fight back and then leave. so tragic that she got killed in the plane crash cuz I just wonder what she would have been like in the 70s and 80s.
You need to check out Leanne Rymes tribute to Patsy Cline video. She does Patsy's songs better than anyone I've ever heard try. It was an awesome tribute.

Mercy! I sometimes forget just how exquisite her voice was. Thanks so much for reacting to this timeless classic.
You are absolutely rightl There is no one else like Patsy! They broke the mold with Patsy!!!

She was a legend that was taken from us way to soon!!! The voice of an angel. The best we have ever had the privilege of hearing.
You should definitely listen to "Faded Love." You can practically hear tears in her voice.

Faded Love by Patsy
I will need to watch the movie about her life. Hopefully it's as good as the Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn movies.
Patsy was a big influence on k.d. Lang Three Cigarettes in an Astray or Hungry For Love a couple of suggestions ❤
One of the greatest voices that ever graced God's green earth. Great reaction
One of a kind .you got that right they have tried to copy her voice since she passed and have failed
Absolutly the best.
Ab watch the movie Sweet Dreams. It’s about her life. This is my favorite song of hers. Impeccable.
Listen to Patsy's She's Got You or Walking After Midnight.

Please listen to Emmylou Harris; "Deeper Well" from her 1995 album "Wrecking Ball" is a personal favourite.
