The second I heard Patsy started singing I got goosebumps. There's no telling what she would have accomplished if she would have lived to be old. Faded Love by Patsy will blow you're mind
What a lovely thing to say, that the songs don’t make her, she makes the songs. That was beautiful! I think Patsy Cline would’ve appreciated those lovely words.
It's hard hearing that song, sung by such and angelic voice, and knowing she left us so young! She wasn't some delicate flower but sang like an angel... She was a hard drinking, hard living, strong woman who could cuss us a storm and turn around and, as Mel said, make your heart stop!
According to the movie she only started drinking because her man was hitting on her he would hit her and she would show up to recording studios with black eyes and so she started having to wear sunglasses. The drinking and smoking a lot.
I didn't appreciate her talent as a kid when my dad would play her music, but later came to recognize what a huge talent she was. RIP, Patsy! You'll never be forgotten!
Glad you are doing more Patsy Cline. This is one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "Crazy", "She's Got You", "When I Get Through With You", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love", "Imagine That". She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams
"Sweet Dreams" was recorded February 5,1963, 1 month to the day before she was tragically killed in a plane crash. It was written by Don Gibson who had a hit with it in 1956 and 1960 (with a re-release), but when Patsy recorded it, the song became hers.
So glad you mentioned Don Gibson. There is a theater in his hometown in NC named after him that brings in some amazing acts. His wife Bobbie attends many of the shows
@@joeyrobison6629 interesting that is another thing the film got wrong(as In Sweet Dreams) also the plane in real life DID NOT HIT A MOUNTAIN. the late Dottie West offered her a ride home but she didn't take it
My mom, god rest her soul, was a singer and musician and could sing like Patsy. Patsy is an example of a perfect voice. I love her and am pleased that younger generations can appreciate her.
Watch a movie called Sweet Dreams, it is all about Patsy’s life 💜💎🥰. She was the world’s sweetheart and her voice just takes you away, the world is a better place with Patsy’s beautiful voice & storytelling 💖
I grew up in a small southern town and every diner and Cafe Patsy Cline was playing on the juke box and people were dancing by their tables and in the center of the floor! It was magical to me as a kid! I'm so glad I grew up during this special time! Thanks for the memories!
Sweet Dreams was released within a couple of weeks after her plane went down in March 1963. I remember waiting with my friends for the Five and Dime to open so we could buy the 45 single that she had announced would be on the market in March.
I think that people really appreciate her voice and conviction in which she sings her songs... but a lot of people forget this is WAYYYYYY before auto tune and sound board "fixing". These records were cut live and with Patsy seldom were there more than 2 takes. One of a kind. Great reaction, as always.
My heart swells, just to watch your reaction to Patsy’s songs! It doesn’t matter the color of our skin. The music is for all with a heart, a love for this woman! I hope you all continue as Patsy would want you to ! I’m 67 and loved her since the 60’s. Enjoy!, Ronnie, East Tennessee 🤠❤️
Her voice!!! No other singer can even come close...even with today's technology. I'm a "70s child"...her songs will never "age". Thank you for sharing your Reaction!!
I remember the radio playing this song as the radio station announced her death and seeing my mother cry as she was making our dinner. This song still brings tears for both Patsy and my late mother. Happy New Year, Blessings to all.(Lady Rusted)
She could be singing about the happiest thing with that voice and I'd still be crying😂 I'm not even sad, her voice has something about it that brings tears to my eyes almost instantly.

Patsy is by far the GOAT of country music female vocalists. There was a terrific 1985 biopic of the same name, "Sweet Dreams," starring Jessica Lange as Patsy, and she was nominated for leading actress. It tells the story of Patsy's tumultuous life leading up to her untimely death. Also, there was another biopic in 1980 about Loretta Lynn called "Coal Miner's Daughter" starring Sissy Spacek who did win the best actress award fur her role as Loretta; she was Patsy's closest friend, and quite a bit of the movie revolves around their friendship (Beverly D'Angelo played the part) up to Patsy's death too. Both terrific pics I highly recommend. Terrific reaction video guys.
Miss Patsy, she doesn't just sing, she SANGS songs. Another one of hers is "Faded Love".....you'll hear even more emotion in that amazing voice of hers
No one can cry a song like Patsy. I grew up listening to her and I was 15 when she passed, I'm now 74. Been listening to her for many years. Pleased you like her.
I Saw A Documentary On Patsy Cline From The The Early 90's,The Legendary Singer/Guitarist Roy Clark Said, "A Voice Like Patsy Cline's Comes Along Only Once Every 100 Years" Grace and Peace, Ralph in CT
She cries each note. I remember listening to my parents records growing up, and feeling like no other woman could ever capture my heart like she could. My wife of 22 years plays this for me when she is in trouble with me, she knows that I will melt.
The vibrato in her lower range gives me goosebumps every time. This was the first song of hers that I fell in love with as a youngster. The biopic with Jessica Lange is good, too.

Patsy Cline could sing the phone book and have a hit. Sweet dreams is the title of here life story . A song she does that will tear your heart out is " FADED LOVE" (the way she sings the last words of the song can be a tear jerker) , FADED LOVE is an old Bob Willis tune.
Patsy Cline was a little spitfire. Gone way way to soon. And was still able to leave her mark on country music. She drank, cussed, smoked and would stand up to any man.
