It is the clarity in her voice that amazes me. There was absolutely no cheating in her singing. In the early days, there was no money for re-takes, or tape for that matter. She would go in and sing here parts usually with the band, and that would be it! Her voice is so distinctive that no one comes close to sounding like her.
Aww Nick, I love watching your reactions to my favorite singers. Patsy had a lot of romantic upheaval in her life, which gave her that heartfelt maturity to her song interpretations. If you haven't heard Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight you are missing greatness. I would also recommend Lee Anne Rhymes as well. Go back to the very beginning of her career. She can cry in her music just like Patsy. She won The Masked Singer with some gorgeous music. She didn't sing Patsy Cline in this, but Patsy was one of her influences. Keep listening to this beautiful music. It is timeless.
It is said that Patsy was actually crying when she recorded this one, as the breath she takes at the end seems to suggest. This was part of her final recording sessions before her untimely passing.
Yes, I read this also. One of the musicians in the studio at the time said this after she died. Tears were streaming down her face as she sang this. She was not lucky in love.
I have heard of Patsy Cline while I was growing up in the sixties. But now that you have introduce me, I love her music. She is a classic. Thanks my friend!
You have got to hear her sing Sweet Dreams, or Crazy. She died in a plane crash. She was best friends with Loretta Lynn (another country singer ). Loretta even had a set of twins and she named one of them Patsy.
Thank you, for making me cry. lol - I listen to Patsy Cline a lot in the mid to late 80's when my father died on my 18th Bday and lost my mother just before I turned 21 from sudden illness. You played this an I still know this word to word. Patsy had an incredible voice lost to soon. it's funny to see her pictures on here and reminds me of what my mother looked like when she was young in her 20's. Thank you
I loved her music when I was young and now almost 80 her singing still can give me chills as she was the best as still is. That said you need to listen to to BLUE by LeAnn Rimes and her tribute to Patsy Cline on the 50 yr anniversary of her tragic passing. Also CATTLE CALL WITH EDDY ARNOLD!
Being from texas and growing up with opera on my mind, my mother introduced patsy cline . As if I missed opera after listening to her. She’s gracing heaven with her singing.
Patsy Cline is my favorite lady country singer. She has a beautiful voice. Thank you for playing this song and u are right that her voice is beautiful.
Love Patsy! Thank you. I lived when I was young, not to far from Patsy who home was in Winchester, VA. A very simple home for an extremely talented lady. ❤
I love seeing the younger generations discover what my generation grew up hearing new. Also give a close listen at the very end - - she sobs at the end and it is real, she felt every song she sang
I never realise how much I like this lady until I listen, she was amazing. A great reaction I hope I’m not offending anyone it is not my intention but Avi Kaplan has a new song and video called Move our Souls.
Nick, imagine both Patsy n Loretta Lynn were mothers, Housewife/Country ⭐✨ singers of their time! Singing was their second occupation. Being a mom was their first🥇! They were young when their singer careers took off, but being moms always came first! Don't see that anymore!😊
This was from the last recording session. Her husband, Charlie Dick, tells the story that when she was recording the songs from that last session, she was crying as she sang each one. After work he stopped by the studio to see what was going on and Owen Bradley, her producer, asked him what he had done to her to cause her to cry so much. He told him nothing, but Mr. Bradley told him to get the hell out, because he didn't want him to ruin the magic she was making. It was obvious she was crying as evidenced by that last line in "Faded Love".
Patsy Cline had a way of touching the soul W/ her sultry voice...I remember very well the day she was killed in a plane-crash...in West Tennessee...It was cold & windy day/night...many people had the flu...including Patsy & her son Randy...she loved him so much...RIP Patsy...
Picture a crowded noisy work day cafe. Someone drops a dime and the juke box plays this song. The whole place goes quiet as a church. Takes your breath away.
It’s her cover of Bob Wills’ original. He wrote the song (with his father and brother) and had the HUGE hit with it. Bob Wills was tremendously popular and known as the King of Texas Swing, back in the 1930s-50s. In the 1970s Waylon Jennings had a hit called “Bob Wills is Still The King”. That will tell you something. *edit- Patsy Cline’s version is good though!
Cline was born to sing ballads and was known for that "cry" or vocal flip in her voice. You might also like Mandy Barnett. She never got the fame she deserved, but in the 90s she was believed to be the next Patsy Cline -- even played the role at Dollywood for several years. I recommend "Planet of Love," "Now That's Alright" and "Whispering Wind" -- just for your personal listening pleasure. I don't think most people will remember Mandy so you won't get many clicks, unfortunately.
Patsy has such a beautiful voice ❤ she was a big influence on k.d.lang you should try some of her versions of Patsy’s songs Three Cigarettes in an Ashtray, Walking After Midnight, I Fall To Pieces her album Shadowland was produced by Patsy’s producer Owen Bradley xx
Her "special" vocal range is contralto. Patsy Cline, Karen Carpenter, KD Lang, Cher, Annie Leonex, Judy Garland, Stevie Nicks, Tracy Chapman, Chaka Kahn, Janis Joplin, Joan Armatrading are just a few of the modern day contralto singers. It is the rarest female vocal style marked by deep and sometimes dark sultry tones that contrast to the male "crooner" style, while also reaching the higher mezzo soprano notes with ease.
Great review, as a gay guy I always loved her voice and she was an icon. You should sit on a rainy day with a glass of wine and Patsy quietly in the background - unbeatable!
This performance haunted her widower. He would play it over and over, asking friends and family, "How can she be dead? I hear her take a breath at the end!"
I didn’t know this. It is said that they were having trouble in their relationship before she passed. He was cheating and when she recorded this song she was crying and she took the breath at the end.
Hi Nick, thank you for bringing this classic Patsy Cline song for us to enjoy. Did you know that Faded Love has been recorded by some 183 artists. My favourite version of this song is by Elvis from his 1971 “Elvis Country” album. Here is a link ruclips.net/video/clCLKEZmu7Y/видео.html
There was a song written for Patsy but she died before it was recorded. It was later sung by LeAnn Rimes and the song is Blue. She sounds a lot like Patsy. Check it our.
Nice reaction. Not sure if it’s my internet or the video but your narrative after the video was choppy. Sound was fine but video was flickering. I watched on two devices and it happened on both.
Patsy was crying while recording this song. By the ending she's breaking my heart. "Faded Love" has become one of my favorite Patsy songs. Most of the time, l close my eyes(unless l'm driving) while I listen to her perfect voice dripping with so many emotions. I don't understand how she can sing while crying.

She always had a cry in her voice.🎶
Today is her birthday ❤️ Love Patsy! Thanks for sharing Nick!

One of my favorite songs ❤️

She's known for her "haunting" music! Such beautiful talent. She's my favorite in that era. My mom grew up with her music, so i heard it often!
You were born to do these reactions as your observations are "spot on"!
I love Patsy Cline...i cannot resist singing along. She just reaches inside you and shakes up your heart. Thank you. You are a cutie too.
Patsy's voice is just amazing. Thanks for this one!!
Best country singer ever lived
I have heard of Patsy Cline while I was growing up in the sixties. But now that you have introduce me, I love her music. She is a classic. Thanks my friend!
Just a FYI. Faded Love was was a big hit for Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys in 1950.
Have always loved this lady's voice. You may want to try out Linda ronstadt. Same type of magnificent voice.
All to great to ever be forgotten. Patsy was so special.
I am blessed to find you love all you do
That was so beautiful hearing her song and voice ❤❤.
You have got to hear her sing Sweet Dreams, or Crazy. She died in a plane crash. She was best friends with Loretta Lynn (another country singer ). Loretta even had a set of twins and she named one of them Patsy.

I grew up listening to her on the radio. It was such a tragic loss for her to die so young.

Someday You'll want me to want you by Pasty Cline. ...Highly recommend.
I love seeing the younger generations discover what my generation grew up hearing new. Also give a close listen at the very end - - she sobs at the end and it is real, she felt every song she sang
Mandy Barnett is a singer in Nashville who sounds a lot like Patsy, has played Patsy on stage, and mostly specializes in songs from this era of music.
Yes, cover Mandy Barnett. You'll love her as well.
All time favorite. Crazy, You belong to me, After midnight are a few.
Love her! Her voice is beautiful.
Thank you Patsy!
I was 12 when this was released and it's still one of my faves!! From New Zealand, Wednesday 8/1/25
I've never heard a more beautiful voice in my life...that sigh at the end is almost too much
For a good representation of her powerful voice, try Lovesick Blues. It is very different for this.
I never realise how much I like this lady until I listen, she was amazing. A great reaction
I hope I’m not offending anyone it is not my intention but Avi Kaplan has a new song and video called Move our Souls.
Great performance, great reaction
Patsy's the only one I know that can cry a song.
Romântico!!!!........

Charlie was appropriately named, and she really loved him.

I was not quite five years old when Patsy died, so l didn't really discover her until l was an adult. She is one of my all time favorite singers.
Picture a crowded noisy work day cafe. Someone drops a dime and the juke box plays this song. The whole place goes quiet as a church. Takes your breath away.
A gentle yodel, my Mom’s favorite

Love your show Saundra in Virginia

Faded Love is a Bob Wills Classic, seriously you need to check out Bob Wills & his Texas Playboys (especially with Tommy Duncan on vocals) ?
For a more jazz/blues side to Patsy, listen to Bill Bailey Wont You Come Home.
Unfortunately passed on way to soon, will always be Icon
Besides Patsy's singing, I just love the guitar in the 2nd verse, not to mention the strings throughout.
They called it the Patsy Cline growl! Gone to soon!!

Im not really a fan of country, but I love Patsy. I also like Alan Jackson.
Try "Sweet Dreams"
Please play sweet dreams ❤❤❤❤
Try playing the song only you by Bobby hatfield

Incredibly, Patsy has been dead for about 60 years! And still her music lives on.....
March 5, 1963, so 61 years ago. But you're right as more people rediscover her, her music lives on.
❤❤😢😢😊😊❤
no one sings like her
Please do Sweet Dreams thank you
Hi Nick, thank you for bringing this classic Patsy Cline song for us to enjoy. Did you know that Faded Love has been recorded by some 183 artists. My favourite version of this song is by Elvis from his 1971 “Elvis Country” album. Here is a link ruclips.net/video/clCLKEZmu7Y/видео.html
leavin on your mind , if you haven't already reacted to it.
She died way too young, but what she left behind we cherish.
I correct myself, Janis Joplin as well.
There was a song written for Patsy but she died before it was recorded. It was later sung by LeAnn Rimes and the song is Blue. She sounds a lot like Patsy. Check it our.
Have to Strongly Disagree! That’s a NO on Rimes
Nice reaction. Not sure if it’s my internet or the video but your narrative after the video was choppy. Sound was fine but video was flickering. I watched on two devices and it happened on both.
Thanks for letting me know. Not sure what happened there 🤔

Don't you think Elvis had the best voice?
Do yourself a favor and watch/listen to "Three Cigarettes In An Ashtray", it will blow your mind :)
