One of the most recognizable, beautiful, powerful, pure, perfect in every way - voices to ever be recorded.
Despite her life and career being tragically cut so short, she left behind an amazing body of work for you and all future generations to discover and enjoy. *PLEASE* continue to react to more of her greatest hits! I promise you won’t regret any song you choose. Great reaction… more please!
1000000% truth
Thank you SO much!
Patsy had perfect pitch and perfect timing. This may be the most popular jukebox songs ever.
Patsy passed so young in a plane crash. She did have a beautiful voice. She and Loretta Lynn were best friends
Patsy Cline is from my hometown of Winchester Virginia and my mom went to school with her and I remember exactly where I was the day she died in the plane crash 😢😢😢. My mom was heartbroken 😢😢😢. Our family burial plots are in the same cemetery as Patsy's. 😢😢😢
My mom grew up in Winchester and her first husband lived down the street from Patsy growing up. So I grew up listening to all of her songs!
There are legends, and then there's Patsy Cline.
...and it cannot be overstated: Her voice is 100% real. The development of autotune and other voice-enhancement electronics was still several decades away.
Thank you for this reaction. Anything by Patsy Cline is unbelievably beautiful and soulful. She was considered to be a country (western) artist.
What an absolute beautiful legend. ❤ Home Free did an AMAZING cover of this, I'm sure you'd live it. 🥰
This is the studio recording with a television appearance video. The headband was covering a scar. She had just survived a car accident. The feeling her voice gives is almost overwhelming. What a queen. And with Willie's song! All the art in a song.
Cool comment. 😊
My dad used to play her songs and would grab my mom and dance in the livingroom. She is iconic! Her tone is unsurpassed for the 60's .
Patsy Cline is from my hometown of Winchester Virginia and my mom went to school with her. Actually my families burial plots are in the same cemetery as hers. 😢😢😢
cool
Yes, please react to Home Free's version of Crazy! It's sung in the same key as Patsy sang it. It's great!
This is one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "Walkin' After Midnight", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love" etc. She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams". "Home Free" does a great cover of "Crazy".
Faded Love is my favorite....the emotions, and it was the last song she recorded before boarding that tragic Los Angeles to Kansas City flight.
Nick, PLEASE go down the Patsy Cline rabbit hole....a voice from Heaven....my favorite song of hers, is Faded Love.
Love her so much. She can never be duplicated. She is my inspiration. Btw she just turned 30 on her birthday Sept 8 1962. Great reaction.
Actually she was flying from Kansas City to raise money for a disc jockey who was killed in a car accident and was good friends with her, because he went to see her in the hospital when she had her car accident that almost killed her. She was hit head on and she went head first into the front window. So ironic. So sad.@@miamidolphinsfan
Her best song BY FAR was put out after her death in 1962...SWEET DREAMS was ICONIC....so powerful...she recorded it right before her death and performed it in NY and then had the plane crash which took her life before it was put out to the public. WONDERFUL...you should really hear it...Crazy is beautiful and haunting but Sweet Dreams will blow your mind with how powerful it is.
Patsy died in 1963.
@@JoeTyria yes...sorry fat fingered :)
Also, she never got to sing the song. But, Ironically and Loretta Lynn mentions this in her book "kickin up dirt" that they were riding around when "Leavin on your mind" came on the radio and was climbing the charts. Loretta jokingly said to Patsy "well girl it looks like you got leavin on your mind, where you going"@@JoeTyria
Her back up singers are the Jordanaires who backed up Elvis
Thank you for that bit of history and trivia - it adds a little bit of fun knowing to the rendition!
Thank you for your reaction. Written by Willie Nelson, my personal favorite version of this song is by Home Free.
Theres was no way I was missing this one! 😊❤ What a legend😊and reminds me of the late nights my mom would play her records rocking in her chair 😇
She had such a pure voice, she was the greatest.😊
“Walkin’ After Midnight” is also fabulous
Home Free does an amazing cover of this song!
I've known this music from my childhood. It is satisfying to see young people find, enjoy, and relish her outstanding voice and music.
Hi Nick! Great reactions. I wanted to let you know that she is one of my all time favorites. Now, for the extra. Home Free does a cover of this song. Home Free - Crazy. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Have a great day!
Her voice was so pure.
If I were a C & W singer,I would never sing one of Patsy’s songs. I couldn’t compare to being to her. RIP Patsy Cline!
Some songs, as you rightfully point out, are so iconic, so wedded to the original artist that the dissonance caused by people hearing you and at the same time comparing you to the original - is too great to ignore. I think you are right - it would be - unless someone could somehow do it better? - a grave mistake to try to do a cover of a Patsy Cline song. Her voice is just too unique and unforgettable.
Leann Rimes imo does Patsy Cline right, pays her the utmost respect she so deserves.
Since you like Patsy, you might enjoy reacting to the song “Blue” by LeAnn Rimes. Often compared to Patsy, she recorded the song when she was only 13 years old and was the youngest singer (at 14) to ever earn a Grammy!
This is just TALENT. The beauty of the music and songwriters of the time was amazing. No such thing as AUTO TUNE! You had to have the talent.
Another beautiful voice gone too soon. 😥 She was only 30 when she died.
This is one of my all time fave songs. Love Patsy Cline
Nick…you made my day…AGAIN! Patsy is one of my all time favorites. SWEET DREAMS was definitely her best and she didn’t live to see the incredible heights it soared too. She was instrumental in giving Loretta Lynn’s career a kickstart! Please do reaction on Sweet
Dreams. You will be so glad you did. It’s a treasure and so are you! ❤
Great reaction. Patsy Cline was one of the all time greats.Tragically lost at the height of her career in a plane crash.
She was a Country music artist and the first to crossover. She would have been a superstar without a doubt.
The song Crazy was written by Willie Nelson
First female inducted in the County Music Hall of Fame. Head band covers scars from a head on collision, happening just weeks before this appearance.
She was incredible!!!
Gorgeous voice.
besides having such a beautiful voice, Patsy internalized every song she sang it seems,, she felt the emotion of the story the song told, listen to Faded Love, you can hear her crying at the end of it. Had been a long studio session yes but the emotion was there
She puts an ache in your soul with her pure treble-heavy singing voice.
I was 11 years old when she came out with this song. Patsy is so good!
Now, you need to do Home Free's cover of this song.
No auto tune, just beautiful singing
Do yourself a favor and check out Home Free’s version of this song. Austin sings the lead in the same key as Patsy Cline! Why? Because he can! Not to be missed! You will love it! Please do it!!
Definitely Nick, you must check out this!!❤❤
For sure check out Home Free version! Austin kills it in her key!!! ❤❤❤❤
Just saying…..you need to hear Home Free do their rendition…
my mom always loved patsy cline. this song, along with "i fall to pieces," "she's got you," "walking after midnight," and "you belong to me" -- her whole discography, really, was the stuff my childhood was made of. thanks for the trip . thanks for the trip back. 🥲
Nick, Patsy died in a plane crash with several others, like Buddy Holly and etc....They hit the side of a mountain....so so sad! We lost a lot of talent in that accident. Also.....Willie Nelson wrote this song......he's another great! Love your video here....I smile through the whole thing like I was there with you.....Blessings!
Another pure voice, like Patsy tragically cut short, is Karen Carpenter. I think you would enjoy her too.

One of the finest voices of our times--in ANY genre!
Patsy Clines is the standard all other female Country Singer are measured against. She's been gone for 61yrs now & people still buy her songs! She is the only singer who can cry & sing at the same time & still be perfect. Listen to "Sweet Dreams," & my favorite "Faded Love."
By the end of "Faded Love" you to will be crying with Patsy. She will break your heart. Patsy felt every song she sang.
There are 5 women in Country Music that broke the door down for the other female singers. They are,
1 Kitty Wells
2 Patsy Cline
3 Loretta Lynn
4 Dolly Parton
5 Tammy Wynette.
You need to ck out all 5 of them.
Patsy & Loretta Lynn were best friends. Loretta was devastated when Patsy died.
Beautiful song, and beautiful voice.
I just came across your channel and I am so glad I decided to watch a few of you videos. Patsy Cline and The Everly Brothers took my breath away. You have a real gift and I look forward to hearing and watching more of your channel.
Great review 👏 Patsie was a legend, icon and phenomenal vocalist. Just a bit on this performance, it was a sound stage, you can tell by the wires coming out the bottom of the fake walls, and the musicians werent actually playing the instruments, she was lip singing to her single, this was common back then and even now today. They wanted the perfect take as most times these were live TV spots. Great job❤
Hey Nick Patsy grew up right here in my home state. Peace and love from the state of Virginia thank you for sharing.
For more of Patsy’s story, the biographical movies “Sweet Dreams” (staring Jessica Lange) and “Coal Miners Daughter” (about Loretta Lynn (Sissy Spacek) and Patsy Cline (Beverly D’Angelo)) are two excellent introductions to their lives and careers. Both actresses did great jobs with the vocals. They might make fun reactions! (hint…hint!)
Mack's friend Roy Drusky suggested he pitch "Blue" to Patsy Cline in an effort to make the song a hit, so Mack gave a tape to Cline's husband Charlie Dick, but Cline died in a plane crash in 1963 before she could record it. The song "Blue" became a multi-platinum hit for LeAnn Rimes, in 1996 at the very young age 13. You should check it out and react to it. Both voices are so beautiful.
At 75, remember well. Tom Odell has new CD, Black Friday. Title song all over RUclips. Graham Norton, Mahogany Sessions, Amazon Curve.
The background singers were 'The Jordonaires' famous for being Elvis Presley's background singers from 1955 through to about 1970.
The work ethics of singers and musicians from the earlier decades definitely shows. This wasn’t just a quick money scheme or an attempt to gather a following so as to be an influencer. These people worked on their craft night and day, more than most people work at their jobs these days. If we could develop the same dedication our fore-bearers labored the music industry could soar to new heights. Society’s love for money destroys everything it touches.
Watch some Home Free and see those kinds of people you are talking about. They have done a fantastic job of covering this song sung in the same key as Patsy.
Please don’t forget to react more to Gabriel Henrique!!! You liked him so much at the first time!! Thank you, Nick ❤
Thanks Nick. She is one of the greatest of her time. I favored singing her songs when out doing Karioke. It still brought lots of applause and memories to the patrons in the bars even if I can't sing as well.
This is the version I have heard first by Patsy! Love it!! Beautiful!!❤❤❤
You have to checkout Home Free’s version with Austin’s lead in the same key as Patsy! It is sooooo beautiful!! 🔥🔥
Love your reactions Nick!! Thanks!❤
So beautiful thank you
like your comments about patsy, Karen carpenter, and Bo Burnham. These three have knocked me off my feet. I'm learning at 70 yr old , I may not have been wrong.
I just love your take on the lyrics of the songs you react to. I love Patsy Cline and the music around that time and earlier 50’s and 60’s early 70’s is my era. I do like lots of kinds of music and can get lost in so many songs. Thanks for sharing Nick. X
That head band is covering a scar from a car wreck she had shortly before this recording. She died in a plane crash.
Miss Patsy was peerless.
She is truly a Legend. Most pure and besutiful voice. You should listen to Sweet Dreams, You Belong to me, all her songs are just brilliant. Pure Gold, as you said. Loved your reaction. Excellent Taste in Real Music.
Thanks Nick! Ill be sure to request more Patsy soon! Defi itely something to enjoy with a glass of scotch!
The song is called "CRAZY"
Patsy Cline was sure one amazing singer
Timeless.
I also like "Why Can't He Be You. " background singers are The Jordinaires, and they also sang background for Elvis. Patsy was killed in a plane crash in 1963.
Didn’t know Bing Crosby played violin!
Floyd Cramer on the piano. Wow
Loved it ❤ Thank you
To hear a modern day Patsy Cline, listen to Blue by Leanne Rhimes. She was 13 when she sang that song.
Reminds me why, for many years, unless Patsy Cline was on the jukebox, I wouldn't drink there.
That was a breath of fresh air. She was a legend, gone too soon. May I suggest Pink's new song " I'm all out od fight" It is not what you would expect from Pink.
What a voice!!!!
That's real Singing.
Check out sweet dreams. I love her voice!
Must do K. D. Lang singing Roy Orbison's Crying, After that try and sit through Symon and Garfunkel's Scarboro Fair
She was the best!
There are two songs you have not reacted to by Home Free, cover of Woman, Amen/female, and My Church, neither are religious songs, but they are fantastic. Also Home Free cover of Try Everything
I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the reason for the headband is because she was in a terrible car accident where she almost died and she had a scar on her forehead for years and the headband was to hide it.
I heard that it was a compression band, She suffered from migraines and this at the time was supposed to help, and help with scars. Loretta Lynn talked about this in an interview.
Willy Nelson wrote this song!
Check out Home Free's version. Austin kills it!
GREAT REACTION.
Thanks Joe!
Written by the great Willie Nelson, while driving to a gig before he was famous.
I don't like to drift away from Haley Reinhart and Morgan James, but you might check out Robyn Adele Anderson and PostModern Jukebox covering a mix: "Paint It Black" / Rolling Stone's and "Back To Black" / Amy Winehouse. It sounds pretty good.
Amazing Voice! BUT... Thanks! 💙💙💙💙💙🦩🦩🦩
They don't have musician's like Patsy anymore. This was when music was talent, not computers
👍👍💯❤️🔥
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was the studio recording. Either she was lip-synching to it on TV, or someone dubbed it after the fact. Regardless, it's beautiful.
Obviously, you've never heard "I Fall to Pieces." Yeah, you should do that. It's beautiful, too. No one has ever quite matched Patsy's version in a cover. But Linda Ronstadt's version (a reinterpretation) and Leann Rimes' version (very similar to Patsy's except for the exaggerated yodeling) are both quite good. So, there's three reactions (or one long comparative one) you could do.
Please give your opinion on Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers "Summertime"
Even for the pleasure of a very young boy's heart, to have been lucky enough to hear and experience this soothing yet penetrating voice, cannot be described in mere words.
In a way, it could be an important reason why the baby boomer generation were and are the last generations to experience a belief in holding to Godly Priciples as the basis of long term relationships. I think Patsy had the ability to preserve that sentiment before a more Worldly view was allowed to creep into the American society.
So few vocal artists would come along after her to dedicate those virtues to the listener. You almost had to switch to the Gospell or Christian genre to continue to experience those virtues because other genres were beginning to pervey a much more Worldly view of living. A view that happiness was not based on a relationship with our creator.
I recently experienced another female voice that was able reach one's soul in every genre she chose to use, and refused to be tied to one genre to give you that soul moving feeling. Her name was Eva Cassidy. She was virtually unheard of until 20 some years after her tragic death from cancer at the young age of 33. Her ability to cover songs from other artists and reinterpret the songs and make them her own was incredible. Songs like:
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW
AUTUMN LEAVES
SONGBIRD
FIELDS OF GOLD
STORMY MONDAY
BIRTH OF THE BLUES
BLUES IN THE NIGHT
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD
and many more. They are all highly recommended for being reacted to.
My favorite Male singer who is blessed with that ability is David Phelps, who is a Contemporary Christian Artist, but does venture into Classical, Secular and even Operatic genres. Please react to some of his music. You won't be disappointed
Willie Nelson wrote this song
Try : You belong to me...the best of the best...!
Patsy Cline was brilliant. She passed away way too early.
Only two who ever could sing her songs are Leann Rimes and Angelina Jordan.
Check out Angelina Jordan's version of 'Crazy':
