  • An Oklahoma woman allegedly rammed into a police vehicle, hit a pedestrian and crashed through a fence into someone's yard during a pursuit on July 12. The Broken Arrow Police Department said 36-year-old Courtney Rae Jordan allegedly fled after being confronted by officers about a reported hit-and-run. Authorities say the pursuit ended when Jordan allegedly crashed into a fence after she collided with several vehicles at an intersection.

I think there's a lot more to this story than will be told to the public. She's a member of the AGO's office, as well as a law professor, so she is very likely normally a level-headed person for whom this behavior is aberrant.
It's also very likely that she received some kind of unexpected very bad news, or whatever, that triggered something in her mind that she simply couldn't cope with.
I don't know, I'm not in that area, don't even live in that state, and don't know anyone there. I'm just thinking from the perspective of someone who was told her son was killed in an accident, and how bizarrely I behaved for two days after (I didn't even attempt to drive, though, not being able to think clearly enough to get behind the wheel).
Terrible news does things to the mind that are incomprehensible to those who've never experienced it. I'm not saying that happened, and I'm not trying to justify what she did. I'm merely saying that I wonder if....

Flood versus head mounted spot are two completely different use cases; right tool for the job and all. Flood is mainly useful for close area work without other light sources constantly resetting your night vision. For hunting and S&R, a flood lamp can make vision worse by over-illuminating nearby objects while leaving everything beyond a few foot radius pitch dark. Head mount has another advantage when it comes to retroreflectors. There are certain species of spiders you won't see at all with a hand or breast mounted flood light but with a head mounted lamp you can see every spider's eyes light up even 30 feet out.

She won't, they never make people pay for the damages they cause in these incidences. But I wish they would, I wish they wouldn't let them out of jail until they are able to pay for the damages they caused.

@@Thunderbyrd. They DO make her insurance pay, but chances are that it will run out fairly quickly since liability limits are pretty low in the USA. Once her insurance is out its on your OWN "Uninsured/Underinsured motorist" coverage to pay for it.
Don't have it? Yeah, sucks to be you - and you get to sue her in CIVIL court (she is a lawyer, remember) to make you whole. IF you have insurance they can go after her too, but usually don't.
And yes, I have UM/UIM coverage just because of idiots like her. I consider it more important than Comprehensive/Collision.
