“If that thing had hands I’d High-Five her” Well that made me randomly burst out laughing this morning getting ready for work. Thanks for starting my day with a smile! I know this video is old but I still rewatch them. 🤓
Adam, when you get a chance check out SKYRC Corner Weight System. Each corner (wheel) can be tuned and adjusted accurately and evenly across all tires for desired weight biases. One of my favorite suspension tuning tools.
There's a fine line between flex and stability, and clearly this rig has too much flex. Yes, flex looks cool but the downside is your suspension will unload in high angles. Ditch the 59mm shocks or reduce the amount of flex and it will run better.
Hey dude, great coverage on the TRX4M! One thing that no one has covered yet is the Meus crawler gearing. I know the best way forward is a brushless set-up but for those starting out or happy to remain brushed, I want to see if you have tried the new gearing with a faster motor, e.g. Injora 48T and the 25.87:1 gearing. Its midway between stock trialling and crawling - if it still produces slower crawl but giving back some much needed speed would be a great test and review vid!!!
Maybe just some weight in the front, I think the CF chassis is a lot lighter than the stock one. I got some 10mm weights that keep the front supppppper planted!
Awesome timing with the video - my chassis is coming tomorrow! Question - what foams/inserts are you running with those gripper tires? I like how soft they look on the rocks
Love the build!! I have noticed in other videos that this build has a laydown steering servo only made possible by the LCG Universal Carbon Fiber chassis. I am eventually going that direction. Is there any binding or clearance issues between the chassis and servo in this setup?.....thanks
Awesome video, new to ur channel as I am researching the trx4m as my starter rig.. you have great content.. btw this truck is dijon not creamsicle lol.. creamsicle must have light orange lol.. .. hifive and I look forward to catching up on all ur vids! :)
This might be a stupid question and I may have missed the answer in the video, but why the CF Chassis? I feel like most of the time we're trying to add weight, in which case, the chassis seems counter productive. Second question: Im just now starting my build and I really don't even know where to start. I really like the shocks, but what would you (or anyone) recommend for some first upgrades (and why)? Great videos, thanks!
I’m sure Adam will answer this for you but you always want to add weight at the axle or below. Cut as much weight above the axle as possible and you’ll perform much better. Keeping the weight as low as possible is the idea. Especially on something like the Trx4m that has a hard body. It’s already got a good amount of weight up high so removing any you can is only going to help performance.
Since you have done both, would you do the injora chassis or the grasshopper? Running the defender chassis on my Bronco right now but the body issues are annoying.
Oh, that's a tough one. They both have pros and cons. I like the one-piece frame rails on the grasshopper, and I feel like the design offers more/better options for shock placement. I like that the Injora has the angled skid and is half the cost. But if money was not a consideration, I would use the grasshopper.
Hi Adam, i got the chassis and I had the 59mm shocks already on the original trx4m chassis. I had a climbing angle of 56 degrees. The front shocks I had put some limiting spacer in, to limit the front lift. Now with the same setup and i tried several shock positions, i lost two degrees of climbing angle ie 54 degrees max now. Do you have any tips to improve and get it back to the level it was?
Im running stock springs (51mm) on 53mm Injoras. Stock Is the .95 spring rate of both injoras combined (.45+.50) No slack at full nut topout. 59’s there would be though i bet
Not only do I need the Injora chassis for the Bronco, but probably should upgrade my shocks too. 🤨 Come to think of it. 🤔 Do I need to put oil in those shocks?
I've been following your TRX-4m videos alot recently, I'm just getting into micro crawlers. Do you think at some point you could start a new trx-4m build with off the shelf parts that you prefer from the ground up? Just balls to the wall in every aspect? Unless you have already done that and I missed it.
I can do that. It would be fun to incorporate what I've learned from these iterative builds. I'm kinda waiting for Traxxas to release a new model of the M!
I'll have to pull it all together. It's got the Injora LCG CF chassis, Holmes 66t motor, crawler gear set, 59mm shocks, Injora servo, metal diffs (stock ratio), Injora stamped steel beadlocks and Injora 58mm tires currently

Random observation, but your audio is slightly out of sync with your video. I noticed this on one of your other videos too. So I thought maybe it was me and dropped the quality to 1080 and same thing. Then I checked another video on Linus tech tips and sound was fine. Not a big deal, just letting you know. Could just be me though.
Interesting. I'll check that out, thank you!
