In the 4 years I have been playing this game, NEVER had I known on test flights there was a mission editor. It always seemed useless to me to go on a test flight and only have one vehicle to shoot at on the ground. Thanks for being the only You Tuber to show this mode. I do play the single and dynamic missions but they can drag on when you have to win 5 matches to win, and if you leave before winning 5 matches you have to start over at 0 matches won. This is much better.

I go to test flights for engine thermal stress testing. Try closing the radiator, opening the flaps, and then WEP with a 100% angle of attack. You will find most engines will not last at all in this situation except maybe the notorious FW-series that seem to have god tier air cooling and no radiator controls.

mlg cl0r0x bl34ch Yup Don't play AB if you wish to go into RB. The planes act completly differently from the two and playing in AB is likely to decrease your ability in RB.
Go miles up high, zoom down on some unsuspecting mong, wait until you can almost read their unit numbers then fire. Don't follow them if they turn and use the speed to zoom away from them back up high is my advice.
Lol so simple yet 100% true .Funnily my most successful fighter is a FW190 A5 U12, it can't turn even if it was pulled around but as a meteor from the heavens with 6 x 20mm mg151 and 4 x 7.72 everything in your path explodes into fire and little pieces thanks to the mentioned instructions.

AWESOME VIDEO !!!! I am always afraid to click buttons in Warthunder because for 1) I dont understand half of the time what the does or what CHANGES it is going mess up on my now current setup, and 2) Warthunder is known for not being very user friendly and no instructions on what all is in the game as far as OPTIONS that can be done. THANK YOU for showing me this .....I now have a place I can go to and hang out and PRACTICE my flying skills and actually put a plane through scenarios to test it properly against enemy planes! SUBBED !!!!!
I had the same problem and really the best solution is to practice in test flight mission editor matches. You will real quickly get the hang of shooting down planes with quick bursts
If your issue is aiming, i do it this way. I suck ass at guessing lead, alwayse end up shooting too far back to hit. Therefore, i always compensate more as i think i should, and just let him fly into it.
Also, if you want to hand enemy's asses to them, use the Bf 109 E-4 or the F4U-1A. I can guarantee you, if you do it properly you will fuck everyone around you, i killed 4 people in my first match in the E-4, even with me being stock!
you missed: custom battles with a friend (or a few). i was able to help my two youngest songs learn to confidently fly in RB mainly using this method :D
This is the best tutorial video I've seen ever! I did as you advised and just after 2 hours of practicing I played realistic and managed to land a kill against a Bf 109 and damage a Fw 190! I also practiced simulator battles using that mission editor and landed a kill. You are literally the best! 4 Months of gameplay were worth nothing to a 20 minutes brilliant video like this one and 2 hours of practicing.
Remember. Never stay on target. If you miss your pass go onto the next. Dont be a pleb that ends up being shot to shit because you sit in some endless loop with another person.

I don't see people say this much, but a good way to train for realistic is to go to arcade, and turn the guided circle thing off. Because in my opinion, idk what it is but it's easier to fly in arcade so then you can train your aim without the guide. The. After that you can learn more maneuvers in realistic
The Single Missions and Dynamic Campaigns are leftover from the game it was before War Thunder in 2008. Gaijin just took that game and added multiplayer to it and called it War Thunder in 2012/13. They are actually reskinning it again and calling it Aces of Thunder which is a PSVR exclusive.
I have been playing for about 3 months now, I am about 3 planes into tier 4 and man I have some sparks of genius I mean a few games here and there I can get like 12 kills 2 deaths and at the same time I have games where I get killed instantly, its so frustrating. I just want to fly some damn jets. Not that I don't love prop planes but I want some real G forces.
Thanks for this. I was decent in WoWp with accuracy, but WT air realistic I can't hit the broadside of a barn from inside. Hopefully I can do this and getting better at hitting planes.
Thanks coming from WoWp were I had no trouble leading my target to WT where I can't seem to hit the broadside of a barn from inside this should help I think. Of course I have handicapped myself in AB in turning off the lead indicator. I just don't want to be dependent on it.
It's actually better to have it on all the time in AB because it helps you figure out where to shoot, even if you have to shoot ahead or behind it a little. Once you go to RB, even though you don't have the indicator, you'll generally be more accurate in all your engagements. Might seem counter-intuitive but it's better to keep it on in the long run
I’m very comfortable and accurate with my aiming in any American and British and many Russian planes. But I’ve recently started going deeper in the German tree and the BF109s a FWs aim completely different. It has to be the nose mounted armament and almost no convergence. When I target the same as I would in many American and British planes, I’m barely hitting the target
German shells are extremely heavy and fall off almost instantly after they leave the barrel and have only an average velocity. Hitting anything past 400m with German cannons is difficult. 50cal lighter and faster projectile so better long range accuracy. Took me ages to work out the shell flight profile to understand why I couldn't hit anything. Worth looking into.
@@closinginonclosure Happy to share my experiences with the game. The best example I can think of is stand outside with 3 stones. One a pebble, one a stone and the third a rock. Now throw each, one at a time as hard as you can. The pebble represents rifle calibre ammo, 7.62mm and 8mm. Fast and gentle curveed flight path untill hits the ground. The stone can represent 50 cal, 12.5mm which isn't as fast fireing and drops slightly faster than the rifle calibre. Then the rock well that's 20mm cannon and even 30mm which are both very heavy and you can't throw them as fast or as far by a large margin. You can accommodate the shell drop in flight slightly by attacking from a high position and diving down drop shells through the sunroof of your target. But you need to be tapping him on the shoulder before firing to achieve any hitting consistency. I never fire heavy cannons over 400m range to target as I seldom achieve any hit accuracy past that range in the German tech.

I'm actually very familiar with the physics of different size rounds and the velocity of larger rounds as opposed to smaller rounds. To go even further than size, the weapon design can factor into muzzle velocity. You can have 2 different makes of 20mm and one may have a higher velocity because of the type of gun. Same with 50 cals. Burst mass can also factor in. I can fly American, British, and Russian while running any belt with any ammo and have great accuracy. I can aim just as well with 50 cals, 20mm, 37mm, and even 50mm and 75mm. But the German planes are just a different story. They target completely different than anything else.
@@closinginonclosure I read the in some tech stuff I was sifting through ages ago that German cannon shell caseings were machined with a thicker wall when compared to allied and Russian shells which as a result of means they fit slightly less powder charge into the finished shell resulting in alot of the flight trajectory, muzzle velocity and effect range issues we see in game when comparing to other 20mm and 30mm ammo.
Joe Ceresini you can do what I did, (just started Xbox as well) fiddle around with simplified controls and you can turn off the instructor bits, goof around with realistic controls. I couldn’t do a thing with the pointer mode. That’s for M&K
Dude with one of the updates recently fucked my aircraft controls. I've been desperstely trying to get it back... Aiming is stupid twitchy. Ive turned my sensitivity from like 60s to 70s down to like 30s and its bot helping. Just seems to make me maneuver slower..
You can set up in your controls to fire primary and secondary guns seperately. I think by default they are set to 1 and 2 on the keyboard. You can re map them in controls. Generally the larger caliber guns will be set as your primary so let's say the Bf 109 E-3, pressing 1 will use your machine guns and pressing 2 will use your cannons.
calling War Thunder experts,, i bought a Hotus 4 Thrustmaster joystick to try and get a bit better cause i,m old and basically crap but i love it ! my play station controller is much easier but i,m sure the joystick would be better if set up right , Is it possible to import a good settings config from a cloud etc ? hope ive made sense?

Ii is a nightmare mate, you feel physically sick with the up and down motions but worst of all the icons above the enemies planes rotate in sympathy with your own plane,in other words using the PS remote it doesn't matter how you move yourself, the on coming planes remain on the same level path, with the hotus the whole horizon rotates in line with the moves you make yourself ! i don,t know if anyone else has experienced this ?
My issue is I have zero clue how I am supposed to hit anyone that is moving like that, I am fighting a pixel & getting constant hit markers but no kills, the movement & mouse is soooooooo jittery.

I still play against AI all the time using this same editor in Birds Of Steel. It's great fun. If I get around to getting a PS4 & War Thunder, I'll likely continue to do the same, multiplayer is not particularly interesting to me at all.

Hi i play wt tanks for long time now on ps4 but only recently i awakend the intrest in air battels to myselve but i have major problems keeping the guns of my fighters on target ime grinding out the russian air vehecels and most have large caliber cannons with slow rate of fire wich demand verry good steady acuracy like the la series and the jak i keep missing shots on enemies and i just cant figure out wat i do wrong and can i change the collor of my crossairs to red or some darker collor? couse mine is white and if i aim in direcktion of clouds i cant even see my crossairs anny more is there somone that can please help me out on this couse it a mess like i preform now couse i want to reach the top tier migs and su jets one day to let them team up with my tank teams

Keep at it bud, I'm console and controller two years now and level 96 ahd only RB or sim. still regularly get my arse handed to me but so much satisfaction when you can win a match and it done on console. Makes for some salty game chat 😂 alot of pc boys don't appreciate a lounge lizard with his controler slapping them out of the sky😂😊

just quit playing, just feels like i got soft airgun bullets, I burst and hit over 50 times and they won't go down, then someone comes by with 1 burst and im dead. fuck this. going back to csgo where i'm actually good.
Well for me I found that with the Early American, British, etc (Well except for Russians cause they got Stallinum Rounds that basically 1 shot ya from half way across the map :P) its better to actually hold down the trigger and spray them yes you have limited ammo but still it'll net ya a few kills and then its best to pray that no one attacks ya and go back to the base for a landing XD
Honestly, in warplanes, like MOST very good shooters are doing: getting cheat aim lead for RB :P (and dont say it doesnt exist because then you are naive fool or cheater yourself! Every honest player in WT is wrestling with hordes of cheaters.

I changed my pointer mode from the left stick to the right stick which is really helpful as it’s more natural to aim with the right stick

My issue is I have zero clue how I am supposed to hit anyone that is moving like that, I am fighting a pixel & getting constant hit markers but no kills, the movement & mouse is soooooooo jittery.

@multiple internet personalities I think German is the most OP, you get the bf 109 and the Ju 288c which are both insanely powerful

You fire with MGs, play planes with Cannons, they're usually harder to turn, but better energy fighters

Shoot ahead of the reticle, like (|-l->-----O X), shoot on the X.
Change your convergence to 500 or 600m instead of 800. If your guns are set to 800m, then your aim will get worse when you get closer to your target.

I still play against AI all the time using this same editor in Birds Of Steel. It's great fun. If I get around to getting a PS4 & War Thunder, I'll likely continue to do the same, multiplayer is not particularly interesting to me at all.

not too slow like japanese, but they falloff pretty hard around 400m

So is it just me, or after testing this out is the whole "300m = aim at circle, 600m = aim double distance past circle" updated? I've been testing out the theory and found that even from 800m away, the aim circle/guide is right where I should aim. The game was updated I guess?
Hi i play wt tanks for long time now on ps4 but only recently i awakend the intrest in air
battels to myselve but i have major problems keeping the guns of my fighters on target ime grinding out the russian air vehecels and most have large caliber cannons with slow rate of fire wich demand verry good steady acuracy like the la series and the jak i keep missing shots on enemies and i just cant figure out wat i do wrong and can i change the collor of my crossairs to red or some darker collor? couse mine is white and if i aim in direcktion of clouds i cant even see my crossairs anny more is there somone that can please help me out on this couse it a mess like i preform now couse i want to reach the top tier migs and su jets one day to let them team up with my tank teams

Keep at it bud, I'm console and controller two years now and level 96 ahd only RB or sim. still regularly get my arse handed to me but so much satisfaction when you can win a match and it done on console. Makes for some salty game chat 😂 alot of pc boys don't appreciate a lounge lizard with his controler slapping them out of the sky😂😊
Try using the thrustmaster t flight hotas 4 it's a good ps4/xbox one flight stick make sure you get the one for your system tho

That's genuinely disappointing :( i'm sorry you had such a bad experience with the community :( Maybe you can take some of these tips and get back into the pilots seat with some confidence :D Everyone began their WT career with a negative K/D :P Just practice practice practice and you'll be on top of the score board in every match in no time ;)
just quit playing, just feels like i got soft airgun bullets, I burst and hit over 50 times and they won't go down, then someone comes by with 1 burst and im dead. fuck this. going back to csgo where i'm actually good.
Well for me I found that with the Early American, British, etc (Well except for Russians cause they got Stallinum Rounds that basically 1 shot ya from half way across the map :P) its better to actually hold down the trigger and spray them yes you have limited ammo but still it'll net ya a few kills and then its best to pray that no one attacks ya and go back to the base for a landing XD

Honestly, in warplanes, like MOST very good shooters are doing: getting cheat aim lead for RB :P (and dont say it doesnt exist because then you are naive fool or cheater yourself! Every honest player in WT is wrestling with hordes of cheaters.
