- Originally released in March 1963 - 2023 celebrates the 60th anniversary of Days of Wine and Roses. The song was also featured in the film of the same name. The music was written by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. They received the Academy Award of Best Original Song for their work, as well as the 1963 Grammy Award for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

This sounds reminds of the relationship i once had with a troubled alcoholic who tried to find a drink that i would like so we could drink together, but i have never cared for alcohol. Ultimately i begged my partner to stop , but that didnt happen n their life dissolved into many problems and the relationship ended. So sad how art can imitate life.
