This is simply my fan made tribute to the Buckeyes' 2014 season. I do not own any of the footage or music. Credit goes to the BTN, ESPN, OSU Production Team and other networks for their footage. Music by Immediate Music/Two Steps From Hell.

That game against Bama, when everyone said we didnt belong. Didn't stand a chance. It was amazing. When Elliott went 85 yards through the heart of the south, it was the greatest moment in my nearly 40 years as a Buckeye fan.

Probably the most epic story ever told in college football history, tough early loss, Kosta killing himself, clawing into the playoffs, 3rd string QB, taking down all 3 heisman finalists, downing the #1 team in round 1. Im sorry TCU you may have been better suit for Florida state, oregon or even Bama, but you couldnt have ever touched this team with the fire that was in them.

    • @Carbiniz3r
      @Carbiniz3r 9 лет назад +15

If there was a championship game TCU wouldn't have made it in because they lost to Baylor, therefore Baylor would have moved up for being in the same side of the conference(since they were tied in record but lost to them in the season). Either way TCU got offers from all the power conferences and they chose the big12 when it was collapsing. Its their fault for joining back in 2012.

I think a Hollywood movie should be made to commemorate this. Ohio State had a lot against them this year. Despite everything against them, they still won it all. Have a movie, start with the lose in the 2013 Big Ten title game, and Orange bowl. Then transition to Braxton Miller out with his injury. To other players being banned, VT lose, the rest of the season then in place, all the way through the National Title game. Thumbs up if you agree! Go Bucks!!!!!!!!

Yeah, four years after the fact, this season needs to be captured in a theatrical film, especially in light of the departure of Urban Meyer. I would, however, start a little before your suggestion: Meyer's departure from Florida, followed by Tressel's forced resignation, and Meyer's return to coaching. Montages can do a lot for a story line! My choice toplay Meyer would be Dennis Quaid, and first choice for director would be either Jon Lee Hancock ("The Blindside"), or

Excellent idea! I was so impressed with the talent and the heart of this team. JT Barrett worked for every extra yard, instead of sliding safely like other quarterbacks. He risked injury, and more, to keep this team in the game, and on many occasions made the difference between a win and a loss. I am not too proud to admit that I shed a few manly tears when he was injured in the game against TTUN. He is one of the greats of college football. I will always remember him as the brightest star of in a constellation of great talent. Thanks JT, Zeke, Bosa, Smith ...! You made Buckeye Nation proud.

Ohio Against The World Same my two favorite teams are Ohio State and FSU. I attended FSU. We left Ohio when I was 8 years old. But by then I was already a buckeye fan. Routed them through all those years when we couldn't seem to beat Michigan. For me this years National Championship was even more satisfying than the 2002 victory because they did it with authority and against all odds. The good thing my two fav teams rarely play each other. Like I can only remember one time. And yes I'm still upset that they pushed Bobby Bowden out. I think they did it cause they felt his name could no longer recruit. I dunno I still feel like it was wrong. And since then I haven't followed FSU near as much as I used to. Ironically I live in Gainesville Florida. And let me tell you I couldn't wear my FSU or Ohio State hats around without people ragging on me a bit about it. But Urban Meyer was a class act. The florida alumni and fans suck to be honest. If they aren't winning every game they bad mouth the coaches and the team. I think actually that is why Urban Meyer left. I think after two national championships he deserved a bit of trust. But they really thought he should win it every year. I remember by neighbor coming out one day telling me that Urban had lost his touch. And he wasn't the kind of guy the players could get close too. Now this guy is one of those guys that knows everyone in town, etc... So I'm guessing he was echoing the sentiment of lots of the big alumni backers, etc.. So anyway Urban left, came back and then left again. But I'm telling you it was the damn Florida alumni that he fled from. I hope the State of Ohio treats him better. I know the fans there can be rabid too. But they are smarter fans than most football fans.

Even though I wanted to see FSU repeat, I was very happy to see OSU come from what they did...losing a qb, then another one....losing to VT at home and rebounding from that. Other than the 2010 Packers, idk of any team that went through more crap and won it all. I've lived in the South all my life, so I'm just as sick of SEC hoopla as OSU fans are, so it was awesome to see them beat Alabama. One of my favorite non-FSU cfb champions to date.

Ryan Hoffman Cardale kept running over the Oregon players. When he ran over the noseguard, I said to myself, this Cardale Jones isn't just a big guy, he's tougher than nails. Cardale made Oregon look soft and weak. I also love when it looks like he's throwing a little ten yard pass and he throws it 50 yards for a completion. He absolutely has a cannon for an arm.

I walk around in armed forces with pride for my home state and people always call me "Mr. Ohio" because of how much I talk about our state Is it about Ohio State football? Yes. Is it about growing up from the state as well? Yes...it's humbling when your representing your home state and fighting for this country and people always wonder why do you like Ohio so much? It's the blood of pride that runs thru our veins when you remember where you ran, fell on the ground, sweat, bled, breathed that motivates us to keep moving forward in life sometimes. Just a flicker of motivation is all it takes to look back at where you grew up and say, "Thank you Jesus for allowing me to grow up in such a great country and state"

The fact that Ohio State defeated the first and second ranked teams in the nation with a third string quarterback has to mean something. The Buckeyes were able to defeat the Heisman Trophy winner for crying out loud. To those who think that TCU could have beaten Ohio State, you'll have to forgive my skepticism. Virginia Tech played one hell of a game in The Horseshoe. Brewer played well that night. I'm not saying Virginia Tech got lucky. The Hokies were on the top of their game. Virginia Tech was definitely the better team that day. Penn State put up a fight too. All I'm saying is that loss to Virginia Tech wasn't as significant as the wins against Michigan State and Wisconsin.
The Buckeyes obliterated Wisconsin. Wisconsin was ranked in the Top 25 programs in the country and had a Heisman Trophy candidate playing for them. The Buckeyes overcame in the game against Penn State. The Buckeyes came back and beat Alabama after trailing the Crimson Tide for a considerable portion of the game. The Buckeyes are definitely deserving.

For me, it was the simple fact that when we won the title in 2002 I was like 12, so I didn't fully grasp the significance of the victory. As the years went by and the elusive crystal football always slipped through our fingers during the BCS era, I began to realize just how perfectly the stars had to align for a team to make it all the way.
This national championship is something extremely special, because it's not just the game but it signifies how far this team had to come to make it there (losing Braxton at the beginning. Losing to VA Tech at home. Kosta Karageorge committing suicide. JT going down at the very end. Fighting with Baylor and TCU for the last spot. People doubting us and saying we didn't deserve to be in the playoffs).
This national championship was all about redemption, and I will savor it because even though we should be an even better team next year, you never know how long it will take before you win another.

There was alot of nailbiters in 2002. The hail mary against Purdue. The game against Illinois where they were just a few inches from losing. 14-9 over UM (a team we could never beat in the 90s). Even Cincinatti was a close game. Double OT vs Miami was just insane. I was at Buffalo Wild Wings for that game and the place just blew up when Cie Grant threw Dorsey down on that last play. I never seen a title before that for any of my teams.

I don't think any season will ever top this one. I was a student in Columbus both nights we won. The celebrations after were some of the best nights of my life, especially after that Oregon game sealed the deal. It wasn't even about drinking, sure it was rowdy, but it was mostly just a huge group of euphoric people who all loved this team to death. God damn that was a powerful experience. A lot of us stayed up til sunrise just hanging out and talking about life and whatnot. It made a lot of diehard fans out of indifferent students.
After everything they went through, they played with the most heart Ive ever seen. They played every down like the game was on the line. They fought for every inch. Listening to Coach Meyer makes you realize he put everything he had into this team. You could see that the job was slowly taking his health with the amount of stress he put himself under. He was right there mentally and emotionally with the team every game. Just as the players are putting their health on the line, he was sacrificing a lot too. He's a winner through and through. But damn, I didn't really ever think about him as a human being. I think it was hurting his family too. You can see he's relieved to sit back and watch what he's built reach even further glory. Respect to everything Coach Meyer did for this program. It's looking healthier than ever. The culture of winning is something that can't be bought, lookin at you, TTUN.
Here's to hoping Ryan Day continues what Urban Meyer started - beating that goddamned team up north. We're off to a good start after last Saturday.
