I was in a bar in Cleveland. When that WR came inside a blew up the freshman Bama LB (in the game because Jones had crunched the starting LB on the prior play) the whole run opened up. But the part that got me was the Ohio State receivers running down field were faster than the Bama DBs.
I remember watching that season with my dad as a kid. Clarett was unstoppable, I’m really hopeful Myan Williams will bring that kind of run game back to Ohio state this year and stay healthy. Last year we got a glimpse of it.
The entire 2014 season playoff game against Alabama was clutch. 3rd string QB, no clue what to expect in that team, against the #1 seed undefeated Tide. It was coached perfectly and one of the best football games ever played.

It's crazy to look back and see just how much talent OSU has had at the WR spot. So so many guys that are completely overlooked. Devin Smith always comes to mind, one of the most talented WR I've ever watched.

They have NEVER had a 5 year period where they fell off the map. Every other team has. Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Miami, Nebraska. You name it. Look at the late 1990's. All those great Miami and Nebraska teams. Notre Dame. Where are those teams now? Ohio State was great in the 1990's, and they still are. So good observation. Consistently. Even in down years or a down few years, they are still ranked in the top 10.

I've been watching Ohio State football since 1985 and the 2002 season had to be the best in Ohio State history. They weren't the most talented team in OSU history, but every game was a nail-biter. There Were 9 games where OSU had to come from behind and finally defeated a Miami team that won 31 games straight. It was a miracle season.

The Boza sack against Penn State doesn't get the notice it deserves. He pushed that running back into the quarterback like he was a 6th grader. Great individual play.
It was an incredible play. Joey said himself that that game was so intense and exhausting, he could hardly move in overtime. He just drove into the blocker with all he had left in the tank and initially did not even see that he succeeded in dropping both him and Hackenburg.
Agree 100%. Those first couple of Tressel squads were all heart. They were so much fun to watch. Lord I remember that Purdue game vividly. I could watch that 4th down TD pass to Jenkins all day long and it never gets old….

But yeah, Ginn was I got to watch him run the 110 meter high hurdles at the state meet his senior year in june 2004, at the jesse owens stadium nearby the horseshoe. amazing run. 13.26 wind-aided (eventually ran 13.40 legal). Brilliant to watch up close, especially knowing that he was going to Ohio State.
I remember watching Ohio state vs Alabama in 2014 with my dad I was about 6 and I remember it do clearly especially how loud me and my dad were when Ezekiel Elliott scored and the interception

How valuable was Spencer against Bama? Do we beat Bama without his pass and block? Dude ate a big bowl of clutch and washed it down with ice water before the sugar Bowl.
There's no doubt in my mind that they don't win without Spencer. Not only the pass and block, but the kick recovery too. I remember watching it live and yelling "SHIT!" on the second bounce because I thought for sure Bama was going to recover. But Evan Spencer was not going to be denied his place Buckeye history and hearts. I hope he's coaching somewhere.

He was such an unsung hero on that team. He had all the intangibles and constantly over-achieved. That onside kick recovery at the end was clutch as hell as well. That was basically a perfect onside kick and Spencer wasn't gonna be denied the ball.

If clarett would have stayed, let's say all 4 years, he would have been the running back on the team with Troy Smith at qb, teddy ginn and santonio holmes at receivers with clarett at the rb position. Damn that team would have been tough as hell. I mean they were very good without clarett, just think how good they would have been with him in the backfield, damn. If clarett would have stayed, let's say all 4 years, he would have been the running back on the team with Troy Smith at qb, teddy ginn and santonio holmes at receivers with clarett at the rb position. Damn that team would have been tough as hell. I mean they were very good without clarett, just think how good they would have been with him in the backfield, damn. This is all assuming his years would have lined up like this, and I think they would have.
Edit: And would have Anthony Gonzalez been able to be on that team as well???? If so then damm, that offense would have been killer!!!!
