Relieve Stress & Anxiety with Relaxing Stretches

  • Stress & anxiety can cause muscles to tighten leading to pain and tension throughout the body. These relaxing stretches may help. I’m doing these stretches on the floor, but they can also be done on a bed or couch. Buy a worksheet with these stretches: www.askdoctorjo.com/5-relaxin...
    Start off with a cat/cow or cat/dog stretch and a child’s pose/prayer stretch. These help loosen up the neck, shoulders, back, and hips.
    Next rolling over onto the back, the single knee to chest and double knee to chest also help relieve tension in the back, hips, and knees.
    Finally, a trunk rotation helps relax the muscles on the sides of the body.

    Thank you so much. My mother is in the ICU and my anxiety which is generally high is now through the roof. These stretches have helped me calm down and literally bring my pulse down during anxiety attacks. You've literally helped me survive this period of my life. Thank you

      @@layvines yea but I always ask myself that if I am going to die why haven’t I and that calms me down bc ik that it’s my head trying to make think that if j triggers me a lot but I have learn a lot do coping skill on how to deal it

      I’m going through the same thing for over a month now and this came out of nowhere. We’re not alone in this remember that, we can heal together. Have faith in God and keep praying. I’m praying and doing mediation too. But my Psychiatrist doc put me on medication since last night. I’m feeling dizzy for about 24 hrs now but I’m not sure if it’s helping or no 50/50!!!
      Hope we all heal soon

    Hey jo your videos are very helping. I like to see a video about after hip replacement walking straight. Many people faced this problem after hip replacement. If you make couple of videos in this topic it will help us. Also how can i understand what muscle are not working properly after hip replacement and what to do. I am a uncremented delta implant THR patient.

    Really great relaxing stretches! I struggle to find stretching videos that are entirely accessible to me, having a mild physical disability that restricts one side of my body, but this gives really simple movements and decent instructions. Thank you!

    i have used your videos for stretching my neck shoulders etc, but when i happened upon this ( I am a subscriber, but limit my notifications though so didn't see this) i was THRILLED. it's so hard to find stretching for calm that don't involve yoga. so thankyou! for this video.

    hello doc, I have a question, my index and thumb feel a little numb and difficult to bend perfectly because of an accident a few years ago in my palm, near my wrist. When my fingers are bent, the stitches on my palm stand out as to whether doc has special training for that

    I started following you after my surgery. I'm an amputee above the knee. Trouble with my elbows trouble with my shoulders. I watch your videos and it has really helped me. Even when you say get on your hands and knees. Cut my bounce and I can do these things now. The only problem I have is keeping my muscles in my amputated leg from shrinking I can feel them shrinking. It is a natural process that you have to work every day to keep them from. Is there anything you can help help me with that

      I'm glad they have helped. Did you get to go to physical therapy after your amputation? If you can, that would really be the best option since there are physical therapists who specialize in treatment after amputations.

      @@AskDoctorJo I had physical therapy but no one seemed to be an expert. I was in rehab for 1 year. The problem with the rehab probably was my insurance not paying for it.
      When I returned home I got physical therapy for 2 months. They made me stay in my wheelchair , to do the exercises I have everything I do on the floor I learned from you I can't find anyone who's an expert unless you're in the military and I doing that.and I'm sure you can understand how lonely this isn't frustrating. And I will continue just to follow you and I appreciate you replying back to me

    Ma'am I'm having shocks like thing in my wrist whenever i try to write can't continue after that. It feels like torture while writing . Did X-rays but nothing was there. Please help🙏😭😭😭😭😭😭

      Maybe use your phone less and take breaks in between writing to let your arms relax and walk a bit to make ur arms less tight idk
