@@dolsemiyano the only time I’ve seen my laptop struggle a little is when running multiple VMs for a hacking class. I’ve had no issues at all with my regular coding classes. I would still recommend getting something with 32gb if money isn’t an issues.

In my opinion, for 2 in 1, you should not have super thin bezels. In tablet mode you want some bezels to guard against pressing the screen if you hold it in your arm, sometimes parts of your body might touch the screen.
One tip: for testing the sound quality I can recommend 'Rde of the valkyrie' from Wagner's opera. You'll love it. Thanks for this test since it highlights exactly what I a looking for which brings me to the conclusion to look for something else.

I don't even mind the low screen brightness, it's not high on my priority list. But the touchscreen and pen stopped work within 2 months. And it's such a hassle to fix it, even with the lenovo bridge. Gonna send it to the service center and hopefully it is sorted out.

Just picked this exact one up for 699 usd. Then I paid another 40 for the stylus. I see ads now for the AMD 4500u with 16gb ram and stylus included for 670 USD. I feel like the AMD with stylus at that price with 2x RAM is the better deal.

My built in camera has stopped working on the flex 5 after a year of laptop usage. Although I Used the camera very less I need it for important conferences and webinars. I’ve been stuck between this one, the dell inspiron, & HP Pavilion to replace my Toshiba 17” 1 TB of 11 years. Yep, it’s still going (just needs to stay on the charger, plastic build cracking, one hinge breaking, & does not load Microsoft files from emails anymore). All in all, Toshiba made stuff built to last and that’s what I want in my next laptop but with touchscreen now. What do I do? 😭💔
go with your guts, I am using flex 5 now from 3 years ago and still love it. Unfortunately older laptops were build better and touchscreen only works if you want to. Besides that you don't feel anything from normal screen .
How would it compare to a Dell 2017 model (eg. Latitude 5289 with i5-73000). This is 2-3 years more recent, but it seems the Dell build quality is more premium. Which would you choose?
The Latitude is a more professional/business type laptop and has a more rigged build. The Flex 5 is more of a premium consumer laptop. Performance wise the Flex 5 will be superior than than 4 generation old i5 in terms of performance. But honestly the latitudes were built like tanks which means they tend to last a long time. I would choose the better performing one in this case the flex 5.

I’m really disappointed in this laptop :( I have the 2017 version and this one. I barley got it today. I feel like they got cheap on it bc my old one worked so well but became slow due to me not taking care of it when I was younger. The sound quality is wack and the actual laptop itself feels like it has cheaper material. It also crashes easily. I’m not sure what to do because my mom bought it for me and I chose it because I thought it was gonna be exactly like my old one

How do the speakers sound if lid is closed? Plan to use w external monitor and kb, so lid will be closed at times.

You can prevent it from starting up using task manager > Start Up> Disable Teams
