I initially found Nick from the SRS. He is an inspiration. Imagine getting blown apart and fighting your way back to the point where you can return to active duty, like he did. That dude loves the United States of America. It's dudes like this who stand ready in the middle of the night to meet the wolves at the door. A real American badass.

Very much doubt that you’d be any less safe or that your life would be affected in any way whatsoever if this guy ceased to exist…. Can also be argued that he and other members of our armed forces have made our lives more at threat by terrorists by giving them fuel for their hate for Americans. More terrorists today than before GWOT (global war on terror) kicked off. (blame would be on our govt, not these fellas tho…)
One of my guys took a 7.62 on his left trap, went clean thru and canoed his trap muscle, when this happened, he was manning the .50 turret, I was next to him shooting with my rifle, pulled down to reload, and dropped my mag, when I picked it up, that’s when I realized something was wrong, there was a splatter of blood against the plywood wall behind us, (we were engaging from a watch tower) and I asked him to come down so I could examine him, at the time I was a E-6, and he was an E-4, he refused so I had to force him by stating that’s an order, he came down and i couldn’t believe what I was looking at, this man’s shoulder area looked like a V, and he didn’t even realize it, he kept telling me “I’m good to go sarnt I’m good to go”, I had to force him to look at his shirt, it was bright red from the neck to his mid section, and od green from his mid down. I ordered him to go seek med treatment. His adrenaline must have been to the moon. SPC Resto was one of the greatest soldiers I ever led, and to this day I have the honor to have him as a life long friend.

It's true and you bring up a very good point. But at the same time, he's putting his team at further risk and potentially putting himself in a position that costs more American lives. Look, I'm not trying to be too critical of him because emotions sometimes get the best of all of us, but you can definitely tell the difference between Nick and a tier 1 type operator. The difference being someone that has the ability to completely remove emotional decision making and making training based, tactical decisions based solely on objectives in a manner that is devoid of thinking on a personal level.
