Some of us old timers got to experience this masterpiece when it originally came out almost 40 years ago. The mid 80s thrash era was an incredible time to be alive.
Dave Lombardo( in an interview with Fantomas) claimed that their early stuff( "Aggressive Perfector was a Hit the Lights rip-off") derivative of Metallica.
How is this the first time you've heard Slayer???? Someone's losing their job over this. Also, their most popular song, by far, is Seasons in the Abyss. But that whole album is banger after banger.
Also, whenever you hear someone refer to "The Big Four" of thrash metal- they mean Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer. Pretty much the top 4 in quality (and possibly popularity) of that genre of that era.
I recommend Skeletons of Society. Banger! The big 4: Metallica (most charismatic), Megadeth (most technical), Slayer (heaviest), Anthrax (they also exist).
Dude! You have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to Slayer!!!👹 I could be here for a very long time trying to suggest great Slayer songs to recommend to you but I have work in the morning !🤣 Explore at your own time, you won’t be disappointed!😉
@@Djcimofficial oh, I remember. I just wouldn’t have imagined WCW using Slayer. Seems outta left field. Although, they did have ICP and the Misfits at one point, so it’s not too crazy.
I am 50 years old, and Slayer was one of my first heavy metal bands I listened to in the late 80's. Angel of Death is one of their really known songs. I love every album of theirs, you need to check out "Seasons in the Abyss", South of Heaven", "Show No Mercy", and "Hell Awaits". Those albums will NEVER disappoint😂 Plus those are their older albums, just an FYI.
Slayer had exactly 0 commercial songs. I don't even think they had a video (that was routinely played, at least). If you like this song, like I do, I highly recommend you listen to their early, complete albums..
I missed Deftones for a long time too, instantly loved them when I heard them! I saw them with Korn a long time ago, would love to see them again. I'm pretty sure I saw slayer at a festival too. 😂
Just gonna drop some band suggestions here, do as you wish... Melvins, CKY, Otep, Nuclear Assault, Testament, Anthrax, Paranoia, Voivod. All worth a listen.
U can't get a Master of Puppets vibe out of Raining Blood, onky the uninitiated would say that😂 and the sound of the guitars at the end is because of their Floyd Rose 🤘🏻
The best Slayer stuff imo, is the stuff that came before this, aka The Metal Blade Years. Chemical Warfare would be a good introduction to older Slayer.
Long time subscriber, first time commenting. Noticed you asked for requests and I would love to see you react to 'Bland street bloom' by 'Sikth'. One of those bands that's highly influential (essentially created Djent and Math metal) but never got the live they deserved (despite sounding incredibly distinct)
@@Sandalphon777 you misspelled prog fear factory :p you're right though they were very influential on Djent. I don't know what theit 90s stuff sounds like though. Earliest I've heard is the rational gaze era which was after Sikths first album
@@LordWargasm yeah I think if you go all of the way back to their beginning it's like they're trying to find their own sound and methods...once you hit destroy, erase, improve it's almost right but I believe Chaosphere is where they really finally nailed it. I mean if we wanna go early rough rendition we could even include bands like Prong, Machine Head, and a few others and progressive you could even look back to Hellhammer and Celtic Frost til Tryptikon...but there are so many variations and experimental methods attempted all over the place between the 80s to 2K or a little after...it was like an ebb and flow situation...I mean we damned sure can't leabe out Death or Disincarnate especially Death for setting a sort of "standard" that almost everyone else would listen to and take notes from off and on...but a way of looking at it would be like a Dam...there was a controlled current flowing then several bands became well known in the metal scene and suddenly the flood gates of the Dam were thrown wide open and kept building til the creativity levels plateaued and then the pressure dropped and its left with a steadily flowing stream of possibilities but the Dam itself has been bringing those flows down quite a bit by closing off the creativity flood to build back up while other "new" bands tend to play it safe and try to emulate rather than really innovate. Eventually the right people will culminate into new bands tired of the "cookie cutter" metal band offerings and get back to the authenticity and desire to stand out, be different yet still bash your head in with sonic assaults andnthe return of "guitar gods" adding in new features which have become more comminplace innthe eras after...maybe more profound timing signatures and bass solos, drum tracks to show off their full arsenal of skills or whatever else...finding a voice to open the eyes of the blind, naive, gullible, trusting, or willfully ignorant of the world around them and who seeks to harm them through what means as well as perpetuating what circumstances to get to the point of their aims and agendas the byproducts of those that most people don't see or don't wanna know if they have the option not to but will be forced to through this medium as ot progresses and the band members begin to think as individuals observing and experiencing the world around them and assessing what it means for and to them, etc...eventually reinvigorating critical thinking to hone their craft and messages to be realized through this artistic expression tool.

Public Enemy used Slayer riffs as samples😉 Maybe that's the reason it sounds familiar? But wait, Public Enemy is also from the stoneage 😂 The reason why we all can't believe you never heard a Slayer song is just that we are very very old😮...... Reign in Blood, the Album that in every poll for nearly 40;years now is voted as the best Metal Album of all time! Even though it's just half an hour long.
Slayer has gimmick of 2 lead guitars. A lot of times they'll almost have dueling solos. Biggest song will probably be Angel of Death. Criminially Insane Dead Skin Mask South of Heaven Seasons in the Abyss Expendable Youth Repentless These are all great songs.
This song kicks ass awesome reaction dude think you might like Angel of Death really cool channel really like your Slipknot and Metallica reactions 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Why is it most reactors always start their Slayer reactions with Reigning Blood. Lol. Thankfully you're a metalhead. As a Slayer fan since '89, I suggest War Ensemble live from Wembley Stadium next. It's their official video. Maybe something a little slower after that, like South of Heaven. Their best stuff is their early albums. But they have some really good songs scattered amongst their newer albums, but you'll find most good songs on this album and the South of Heaven album.
Dude. You dove in head first with slayer. That's some hard heavy shi!. Try south of heaven album. Little softer. Ladies and gentlemen.........FUCKING SLAYER!
Should always be listened to back to back with "Postmortem", which segues into "Raining Blood" to close the album. Not satanic, but they like to use satanic imagery and themes.
Might be the best trash metal song ever!! its short but good, Metallica could have a few contenders to like Metal melitia, or Antrax Caught in a mosh.. surely some of the iconic trash metal songs..

"Chasing Death" & "Repentless" are a must too.
DEAD SKIN MASKKKKKKKK
Seasons in the Abyss
Bloodline
South of Heaven / Silent Scream - first two tracks off of the album South of Heaven should be reacted to as a pair
Welcome to Slayer....if you go down the rabbit hole, you're in for a treat.
You'll never hear Slayer using another bands riff! Other bands use theirs plenty! Fucking Slayer!
